Walked in Saturday 3pm, an hour before close, to open a checking account. Teller said there's only one banker available so they don't have time to open it for us; the best way is to make an appointment. Not sure why you aren't able to open an account within one hour, I thought banks welcome new account holders. We ended up heading to the Mathilda branch and were able to open 2 new accounts within 45 minutes. I was mistaken to think smaller branches would have better customer service. Not a good branch. Unfriendly staff. I asked the teller to "cash a check" which they refused to. Which is fine, I now realize I should have asked for a deposit - but they should have offered this. On top of this, the greeter somehow managed to make me feel not welcome. I usually have good experiences with banks so this whole visit was bizarre. Will be going to a different one...
