Our family (2 boys ages 10, 11) fell in love with The Pines over 3 years ago, after staying in the loft style 1 bedroom townhouse on the golf course. The 1 bedroom and loft rental each come with a comfortable murphy bed. Full sized kitchen and everything you would need for stay-in dining. This was our 3rd visit to the Pines in 3 years and we typically go to Hawaii every Summer and Winter. So it says a lot about how much we enjoy staying here. We find it a safe place for our family, very relaxing, weather is pleasant, (high desert type of weather), very peaceful. Deer, prairie dogs, and otters roam the area. This is a Vacation International timeshare townhouse-style rental with large decks facing the golf course or the pool area. The property includes a large clubhouse that features a jacuzzi, pool with umbrella picnic tables/lounge chairs. Clubhouse also has a gym, games room, ping pong tables, pool table, large screen TV, couches, many 4-person tables for a nice sized gathering, kitchen. Each rental unit comes with 2 free bikes, which is such a convenience since one of the highlights of our stay is the great bike loop that takes you around the perimeter of the golf course, through a nature path, horseback riding, etc. The townhouse style buildings each have a bike parking area, great BBQ/picnic area for community or private BBQ's. We're hooked on this place and have already booked our stay...

My first inclination in reviewing The Pines was to 1-star it and say it was horrible, just so that I wouldn’t be hurting my odds of competing for a place to stay there again in the future. ||||In truth, the place was great and I feel like an idiot for not staying there before, since I’ve been coming to Sunriver since I was a kid. We stayed in a one-bedroom loft room which was perfect for our family. The beds were comfy (even the Murphy), the view of the golf course was nice, and the jet tub was amazing! The room was immaculately clean, and check-in/check-out employees were exceptional friendly and helpful. ||||Seasonally, The Pines offer two free bike rentals for your stay, with additional bikes at $5 each. ||||The pool and hot tub were perfect for cooling off, which brings me to my one gripe: no air conditioning in the room. Fans help, and letting cool air in at night to trap during the day eases the heat, but be prepared to be warm on hot summer days (unless you’re out enjoying activities anyway). ||||We started planning a winter trip immediately, and we plan to use The Pines as our home base from which to ski at Mt Bachelor. ||||The best part? Extremely reasonable rates for the quality offered. I’d stay here over and over...

This place is TRULY amazing. Tucked off the highway in a spread out community in the trees, rivers, and golf! Before we got there we didn't even know there was a huge restaurant shopping village in the middle of it. Check in and check out was friendly, fast and easy. The rooms are absolutely amazing. We stayed in a 600ft+ studio with a trundle bed. The interior is HUGE. It has a fireplace, couches, large spacious fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, massive walk in shower and large bathroom, and sliding door to patio deck with views of the golf course and nature. Everything is updated/new with a very clean feeling. We got a last minute bargain at a literal motel rate, and walked into a full on vacation rental for two days with everything you could want. Bend is about 10 mins away, but Sunriver has everything you need too. If the price is right, I absolutely HIGHLY recommend this place over anything...

This is a great place for biking with many miles of bike paths. It is also great for hiking/walking. The village is about a quarter of a mile away and has multiple restaurants. There is a small grocery store , Country Store, which has a variety of items although like other small groceries the price is higher than the grocery chains. The pines has full kitchens so a grocery store nearby is handy. There is a clubhouse with an exercise room. There are also planned activities such as breakfasts and children’s activities. The pool is heated and there is a hot tub. There is also a little playground for small children. The staff is all friendly and helpful. There is also a nature center which is great for children and a planetarium which is open once a week if it is not cloudy. There is shopping in Bend and hiking nearby in LaPine with a lake and waterfall. The staff can give suggestions.

The Pines does not disappoint! We love coming here any time of the year. The staff is super friendly and respond to issues very fast (the rubber stopper on the Murphy bed broke, and they fixed it within a few minutes of calling the office). The sun is almost always shining, even when the weather report says rain and clouds. There is an option for late check-in. We have yet to be here when the pool is open, but the hot tub is outdoors, year-round, and wonderful. We got 2 cruiser bikes with our condo and enjoyed the 30+ miles of bike trails available. Our teenagers had a blast with SHARC and Sunriver VR. The office has movies to rent and some cute clothing with The Pines logo. The proximity to hikes, sledding hills, stores, restaurants, and activities for all ages is great. Sunriver is a kind, quiet, sleepy town, which is how we like to vacation.

As far as vacation experience goes, it is top notch. They have events to take the kids to, a pool and jacuzzi, and amazing trails to ride your bikes (or borrow theirs). The rooms are nicely decorated and high quality. The staff are very friendly. The downside? The events at the club house aren't free. There's skylights in the upstairs units, so bring a sleeping mask if you need a dark room to sleep. The rooms are not well stocked: no shampoo/conditioner, no seasonings in the kitchen, and not enough Tupperware. That being said, if you come better prepared, there is no way your experience could be anything less than 5 stars.
