It was my husband and I were enjoying a nice weekend getaway to beautiful Sunriver. We saw The Sunriver Brewing Company and decided to check it out.
Let me tell you, if you're not counting your carbs, you love cheese, and all things fried, this place is your pint of beer.
(Photo #4) First off for an appetizer, we ordered and decided to share the pretzel with beer cheese. The cheese was so delicious and creamy. You get that hint of beer at the end. The pretzel had this crunchy outer crust with a soft, air, fluffy inside. It's big enough to share, but if you want it for yourself you can do that too! No judgment here!
(Photo #3) We eye balled the deep fried cauliflower and try it out. My-oh-my was that not the best cauliflower I have ever tasted. Now, some of these little bits were drenched in the sauce that could be a bit much. However, it did not stop the crunchy fried goodness. This was poppin with flavor!
(Photo #2) My husband ordered the wagu beef sliders and he told me the beef was to die for. The meat would melt in your mouth and have such tenderness with every bite. The buns were soft and held its shape with the sliders. The buns didn't seem to get soggy, which is nice.
(Photo#1) I ordered the 5 cheese mac and cheese with alfredo sauce. I, myself, did add the grilled chicken to my dish. Why? Because why not? The creaminess of the cheese sauce was out of bounds. Mind you, the dish itself is massive! You could share this with another person. Or take home the leftovers, whichever of your choosing!
One of the down falls from our perspective was the service towards the end of our meal took longer than it should have. When we got to our table, our waiter got us some water. Shortly ordered a beer and the pretzel. Within 5 minutes(no joke) we had our first appetizer. I ordered the Rippin-PNW ale and that came as well. Once we finished our first appetizer, our second came out shortly after. We were topped off with our water as well. Moments later our entrees arrived. Now, once my husband and I finished our meals, we were ready for our check and boxes. This took well over 15 to 20 minutes to gather up the bill and food. We never got an additional water refill when our glasses were empty. I understand with the pandemic it's hard and keeping things together, but always try to make sure your guests are taken care of.
Overall, I could not be more pleased. Despite the small flaws. We will be coming here again! Thank you for the...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences while traveling of my life! Food was good, service was good (not great, our waters were never refilled, and there were open tables so it wasn't because they were slammed). We were attending a conference together so we had a split check and all together left about a 15% tip. As we left the waiter actually chased us down as we were headed to our car and complained about the tip! At first we thought maybe he had been shorted, so we were standing on the sidewalk trying to understand whether was saying. It was only after he said "yea, you said you were paying with a corporate card, so why not do us both a favor and stick it to the man!" That's when I realized he was complaining about the tip! The person he was yelling at had used his PERSONAL card to pay for alcohol! The rest was paid on a corporate card with a hefty tip. Like I said, when you calculated he total tip....it was 15%! He said it again, a second time, "I just thought you could do us both a solid and stick it to the man!" That's when I announced that it was actually a woman who ran the company and that would be ME! And I left a damn good tip, I told him. He then said something like "oh, okay" and retreated back to the restaurant. I cannot believe the nerve of this person! It was definitely not outstanding service...not bad, but not worthy of more than he was tipped. This was an absolutely shocking experience and this "man" won't be back! That's a disgusting thing to say, regardless of the type of company, but I run a non-profit that serves the undeserved. The "man" reference was gross enough, but the notion that he would expect a patron to "stick it" to any business is horrible, but check yourself, dude. Some of us run lean organizations that provide important services to our community. Don't be such an...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing! 03/27/19 We started with the Fuzztail Hefeweizen. A perfect blend for a Hefe. For dinner we ordered the Brewburger with a salad and a Pub burger with sweet potatoe fries. I picked up my Brewburger and noticed the sheer girth. This is a healthy sized burger with perfectly cooked peppered bacon sticking out past the ciabatta bun. I took a bite of the bacon. PERFECT! I ordered medium rare. I wasn't sure if it would be. Many places let you down when you order how you want your meat cooked. This was cooked to perfection. In one bite this burger went straight to the top 10 of my list of best burgers. On the second bite I got a taste of the garlic with the bacon. Holy cow, my mind was blown. Soo delicious! The burger instantly went to one of my top five. By the time I finished my burger it was in my top 3. Once I finished, I tried my salad with the ranch dressing. Wow! I don't know what to say. It's the best ranch I've ever had and the salad with pickled onions in it I was overwhelmed. This has become my possible number one burger. I have eaten them up and down the western states and this burger will now be on my must have list. My wife had the Pub burger. She was extremely pleased with hers as well. The staff was very attentive. When we checked in, there was a 45 minute wait. They took out phone number and said they would text us as soon as a table was open. 15 minutes later we got our text. Our waiter Will took very good care of us. He let me sample a couple different beers and I ended up with one that wasn't even in the sample and it was amazing. He checked up on us and kept us informed on what was going on with our order and drinks. Very pleased!...
