I am originally from Sylacauga, but recently moved out of town. I went back for a visit and decided to get a room and just stay over night. For starters, I can't even find the words for how very nasty and disgusting the room was, not to mention the AC sounded like a dinosaur every time it would come on and the temp had to be set on lower 60s just to be somewhat comfy. The bathroom door was literally falling apart, as it was split and the facing of it was pulled away and just looked like it was rotten wood. The bathroom nor the room looked like they had been cleaned more than a swipe and miss and the person before me, their key was still laying on the table which I got mixed up with mine and had to go get it redone. The carpet, again, no words to express how filthy and there's no amount of cleaning that could fix it, as the only thing that should be considered is ripping it out of the room and replacing it along with the falling apart bathroom door. As I looked the room over there just wasn't anything at all pleasant about it and the ONLY reason I didn't leave was I was absolutely exhausted so I just tried to touch very little stuff and I did check the mattress before I ever considered laying in the bed. I slept on and off for a couple hours, got up, didn't even bother with getting in the nasty shower and just made my best decision to wait until I got back home to shower! It's hard to describe this experience but I won't ever, ever, ever stay at this hotel again unless I find out there's new management and a complete renovation!! Don't waste your time and money! Also they advertise they have free breakfast and there was nothing but a small cup of coffee, the very basics for even that! P. S. Housekeeping, "Frances" had left an envelope on the entertainment center that she had written her name on and also wrote that it was a "tip envelope" and if you didn't want to tip, she didn't care!! THAT was the icing on the cake...
Read moreSaturday night after a long day. Driving from GA, family gathering in Rockford Al, decided to go to Quality Inn, Sylacauga, AL for rooms. Myself, my granddaughter, 4 of mycousins also from GA. Get in the room, this is what we find. Water in tub, where blue soap and hair is stopping it up, and hair and dirt on floor. Sink nasty with hair on it. Sheets nasty, bedspread burnt, dust everywhere, trashcan not empty, desk chair had white stuff in it that looked like something I refuse to say. Call management that night within minutes, offered discount for tub and plumber next morning. So, I ask do you have any Drano or bleach til morning because we're tired, he answered no. Plumber will be in at 8 am. So, now we pulled cover back on beds After noticing everything else, I took wipes and wiped down head board turned up heat, covered bed back up, and layed on top of bed on my own towels. Did not go to sleep at all. Next morning went to front desk, night management wasn't there, no plumber, left no notes. The lady that was on duty came to the rooms and acted disappointed in their housekeeping staff, and say she was taking pictures and we would definitely be refunded. Also, sent us to another room just to shower, because our room 313, my cousins room 315 and the other room 309 wasn't descent enough to used the commode or sleep but the tub was safe enough to shower so we could leave. I have never in my life been so disappointed. This is one of those Choice Hotels, with an 8.0 rating scores. I'm hear to tell you someone is lying on those reviews. Negative 8 is more like it. But I called customer relations, and they pretended they wanted to help. But all they did was give me the run around. But I reached out to the CEO Patrick Pacious. I don't want any of my family's or friends staying at this Quality Inn. Go to my Facebook page. Antoni Hill Akinsanya to see...
Read moreI was in town for a funeral and had a reservation for this hotel. Upon checking in prior to going to the visitation, we were given a room. When we went to the room, the room was not dirty, but filthy. The bed unmade, trash everywhere, smelling terrible and it appeared to have personal belongings of someone in the room.
Went back to the front desk...told them what I found. Did not seem surprised, but asked so, they didn't clean the room? No the room was not clean....that was why I was there to get another room. The desk agent assigned another room to us.
The next room appeared to be clean, so we unloaded quickly and left to make the visitation. Upon our return, we found hair in the sink and bathtub and used soap. No bathmat, no washcloths, no soap and no coffee cups. All of this equals a dirty room.
Went to the front desk again, same agent on duty. Told her what we had found. She went and got the supplies and asked was I sure if they were not in the room. Told her that they need to inspect the rooms before putting guests into dirty rooms.
We cleaned the tub and sink ourselves. Checked the sheets to see if they were clean. Thankfully they appeared to be clean, but who knows.
The next morning before leaving for the funeral, I went to the Front Desk once again. I was not asked how everything was with my room....I had to tell them. The agent said, well it happens to all of us sometimes does it not...... I told him that soap in the tub, hair in the sink and tub and not towels equals a dirty room. That I had been given 2 dirty rooms on this one visit.
Being in the hospitality business, we are not picky travelers....but a dirty room is not acceptable anytime. For agents/owners to act as if this is acceptable is unforgiveable. Things like this is what gives the brand a terrible name!!!!!!! No wonder the brand is having such a...
