Budget Inn — Hotel in Tallahassee

If I could give 0 stars I would.

I went to stay this past weekend at this place and I had a very bad experience.

First room they gave me was not what I booked online. I needed 2 separated beds, not one king bed. Plus it was already open when my friend went down to check where that room was, he noticed the door was open and when he got in it was very nasty looking.

The second room the man in tee-shirt and flipflops gave me, #16 had a hoarder living inside. It was a very unpleasant sight.

I decided not to stay there because I was not feeling comfortable with the type of people staying there and me carrying $15,000 in mountain bikes for a local race event we were having. We were trying to cut down the costs of traveling from Orlando to Tallahassee but this place was NOT what I had in mind when I booked online.

I asked for a refund and I have not gotten it back yet. The man at the box office did not want/ know how to give me a refund and had to call the supposed manager to do so. I have proof of VOID but he did NOT give me a copy so I took a photo of the receipt. If I don't receive my money I will be raising hell.

We came up for a last minute trip to Tallahassee and were trying to find something affordable. Although we knew what to expect with a cheap motel and tried to prepare ourselves, it was not enough and it was definitely not worth saving a few extra dollars. We thought "maybe the room will smell, be dirty, and have uncomfortable beds but we're only going to be in the room just for a couple of hours, so why not?" Here's why not: Not only did our above thoughts and expectations become reality, but worse... bed bugs. Like I said, we tried to prepare ourselves - brought our own sheets and pillows and beg bug/dust mite spray and sprayed the entire room when we arrived. Even with that, we all still had bites on us and now we are dealing with an even bigger issue - we brought them home with us in our bags. You get what you pay for. The area was terrible. Please please please just pay a little bit more for a better location. There were multiple men standing outside rooms, cat calling women. I only give this 2 stars because we were given a partial refund despite not staying there either night. I was so scared the first night I convinced a local friend to let me sleep on their floor. Tonight we are staying at the Microtel, and even though it’s slightly pricier (15 dollars more a night) and it’s not central tally I would recommend 10 times over.
