Great staff, great food. A friend and I went to this location last night and it was very busy. There were only 3 people working and about 8 people waiting for their food when we arrived as more and more people came in and ordered. There were at least 2 food delivery service drivers waiting for orders and it took about 20 minutes after ordering for us to get our food.
I could sense that people were frustrated, but what I paid attention to was the demeanor of the staff. They were FANTASTIC. They worked well as a team, and none of them showed any signs of being overwhelmed or intimidated by all the customers glares, although they should have been. They were understaffed for a Saturday night, especially for a home basketball game night right up the street.
The guy behind the counter was interrupted from what he was trying to do repeatedly by food delivery drivers waltzing in and expecting their food immediately, yet he kindly and calmly informed them of the status of their orders while continuing to work on orders for those waiting in the store.
The young lady working hard to complete so many orders at once made a point to look up at every customer when their food was ready and apologize for the wait, whether she handed them their food or not.
I was not thrilled about waiting that long for a sub, but the experience was made better by the staff who I could tell were doing their best and had a great attitude under the less-than-ideal...

Upon walking in, NO ONE greeted me.There was a young man and woman both working, it was dead silent, yet no one welcomed me. I even went as far as to say "hello", and I got half a nod from one of the employees. Then, after ordering, two men walked in and they got a rambunctious "welcome to firehouse!" I was highly disappointed in the customer service by the younger employees, but even the manager spoke to me in a half-ass "I-dont-really-want-to-talk-to-you" manner. When my sub was ready, he sort of waved me off and said "see if theres anything wrong with it." From a manager I don't even get respect as a customer? WOW, okay. He managed to muster out a "have a good evening", but even that didnt sound like he wanted to really say it. I left with a "yep" and came straight here, to the comment section. And on top of that, the food wasn't even good! I guess I won't choose Firehouse over Jimmy Johns any more. I've never been to Firehouse before, and I guess I had good...
Read moreMy colleagues and I are visiting for a conference from out of town, we had a large, chaotic, rushed order but Kane and the manager Brandon were the A TEAM!!! They were so patient and kind with me as I scrambled to figure out my order. Also, during the wait time, the manager notified us calmly and professionally about an active shooter at FSU campus nearby. He calmly and quickly sprung into action by notifying all of the customers in the store and locking all the doors. Monitoring each client that entered and left the building. Brandon then notified us when the active shooter was apprehended, easing our nerves. As quickly as they sprung into action, Brandon and his crew got back to their orders to ensure all customers were satisfied with their subs. 20/10 Firehouse sub experience!
