Excellent staff - quirky hotel The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us when the Wakulla lodge overbooked and sent us here. They stored our bikes in their office, gave us a bottle of wine and glasses when we had missed the happy hour. Recommend valet (there is a charge) but parking is very difficult in this area so do the valet. Excellent location just steps from the capitol complex, but just beware that during Legislative session sometimes events close off some of the streets. Andrews a sports bar is across the street. The con's - room 200 at the front of the building is noisy, from people outside and the free breakfast area - you won't go to bed early or sleep late in this room. With no coffee in room you will have to get up anyway! And when the coffee runs out just go right into the kitchen and help yourself. No hairdryer in room. Quirky bathroom with very tall jetted tub. Bed was very comfy, but very tall. They do provide a step stool and you will need it. Had a tiny fridge in room. Large 2 room suite. Quirky light switches too. When trying to turn lights on I ended up turning off the alarm clock. Good breakfast with make your own waffles, yogurt, oranges, muffins and bagels. Peanut butter and cream cheese available. Not much space to sit to eat so we took it back to our room.

There was no close parking to the Governor's Inn. All parking was paid. When I go to the "sanitized" hotel room, there was blood on the toilet. When I brought this to the older male desk clerk, he didn't seemed bothered at all that there was blood on the toilet, he was only worried about the second key card so he could move me to a new room. We called Hotwire to complain about the unsanitary conditions, they called the hotel, the desk clerk canceled our reservation himself and said Hotwire did it and that we would have to pay full price or get out. No three night hotel stay is worth exposing yourself to Covid-19, HIV, hepatitis, or any other blood born illnesses. Did NOT, will NOT stay! Don't do it.

Quaint boutique hotel located in downtown Tallahassee with antique furniture to coordinate with the theme. Friendly staff. I booked a Governor's queen. Room was tidy. -small fridge (below TV) -Roku smart TV -Armoire with robes, ironing board, and iron -large table -free wifi -Keurig in the room -raised four post queen bed -wooden step stool below the night stand (in case you need assistance to get on the raised bed) -Andes chocolates on the nightstands :) Because inn is located downtown, guests have two options for parking: valet park $15/day or self park at Kleman Plaza garage for the cost of garage fee. This was the only reason I knocked off a star. Otherwise, it is a nice experience.

We got married in Tallahassee in March. It is a family tradition for the groom to stay at this hotel the night before weddings and the couple on the night of weddings. With this it mind, it pains us to convey how dissatisfied we were about our most recent stay.

We reserved a special two-level room with a credit card well in advance of our wedding, but when my husband to be arrived, there was no reservation. The clerk told him that our the room had been reserved for the same day in February (the month before our wedding). But this couldnt be because my mother made the reservation, and I was there when she made it. I also later confirmed the reservation. It is highly unlikely that my we would both get the month of our wedding wrong. It is more likely that the clerk or clerks made the mistake.

The end result is that we didn't get the room we wanted for our wedding night. The room we received (#200) was sadly less than mediocre. The TV remote didn't work properly. One of the bed-side lamps didn't work. It didnt seem very clean.

Early in the morning after my future husband's first night, he was startled awake (on the day of our wedding) by a call from a belligerent housekeeper asking if we needed service that day. It was well before 9. He indicated that he would want service that day, and went back to sleep. An hour or so later, he was startled awake again (on the day of my wedding) by the same belligerent housekeeper pounding on the door. He asked her if she could come back in a bit after he got dressed, but she said she was leaving for the day (using a harsh tone, as if she was inconvenienced). Before leaving for our wedding, he told the clerk about what happened. Nothing was done.

We came back later that night to a messy room that spoiled what would have been a nice gift of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. We were terribly disappointed. We again told the clerk when we were checking out, and nothing was done. We also responded to a follow up email asking how our stay was, and two months later, never received a response. It is clear they weren't actually interested in our experience.

Over the years, my family has enjoyed and come to expect a high standard of excellence at this hotel. This standard was not met at our most recent stay, not even close. We sincerely hope that these issues will be addressed in some way before our next...

This hotel has always been known as a nice place in Tallahasee to stay and known for its "old style" rooms . As a student for 4 years there it was always tough for my parents to get a spot there for games, especially for a reasonable price, thank goodness they never got the opportunity since it does not live up to the expectations. We stayed there for a football weekend this year a couple weeks back. Maybe our experience was not even average due to the current situation going on right now with Covid but we got to our room and the back porch door was completely open, the TV did not work, we then addressed the TV situation that night and was told it may have been user error. We then went to dinner that night and came back to our room and the TV still did not work, we then addressed this situation the next morning before we headed out for the day and was told that again it could be user error but they would check it when the room was turned over. Once we returned later that evening, the room had not been turned over (i guess cleanliness during these times is not important), the A/C was broken, the TV still did not work, and the toilet was not flushing. After trying to deal with the issues, the room became too hot and we then could not find anyone at the front desk for hours until I went looking around the hotel to find someone asleep in a back side room that then was bale to just say, oops we can move you rooms which they did. We appreciate the ability to move rooms. typically, I don't leave reviews, especially this i depth but then I found it very unprofessional that the GM followed up, standard email sent to all customers, about asking our stay was. I then followed up with a email stating our experience above, yet no reply, so then I forwarded the email and stated that we would just like to understand what the issue was and speak with anybody regarding the issue. Again, no reply. Hopefully, someone has the hospitality or professionalism to respond...

I have not seen this level of dirtiness and broken down physical plant in decades. I did not know places like this existed any more. ||First, there are stairs everywhere and no elevator. Stairs to get to the second floor and stairs to get to the rooms at the back end of the second floor. Then my room’s bedroom is on a loft like area which has a spiral staircase for access. Interesting. Until you take your bags up the spiral staircase. ||Then the toilet did not flush. So I called the front desk to tell them. They picked up and put me on hold for about 4 minutes. When I hung up and called back, there was a busy signal. So I went to desk myself a few minutes later. Guy was there and not busy or on phone. The manager has to come and fix the toilet. The next morning, the toilet wouldn’t flush again. The manager had to replace a part. ||The bathroom is filthy. 1970s era ceramic tile with c. 1” wide grout lines are dirty. The shower wall about eye level had long blonde hairs (not mine) stuck to it. The sink is cracked in 2 places. The faucet handles are cheap plastic and dirty. The cabinets are chipped and cheaply repainted numerous times. ||The breakfast area does not have hot water for tea; You have to ask for that. They have hard boiled eggs but they were over cooked. They did have smoked salmon. That was good. The 3/4” long insect (not a roach or palmetto bug) I found roaming the salmon on my plate was not good. ||The location is in downtown Tallahassee a short walk from the capital. If you have business at the capital it is great location. For me, if I have to go miles outside of town to find a room I will do that over staying at Governor’s Inn any day. Forget this place. Filthy and...
