Just went for the first time tonight and was pretty excited, sadly it came up a bit short.
Atmosphere: the interior decoration is decent, with some good character. The tables are slightly too small, and I think the mood lighting can be a bit harsh, especially the table lamps. We went at 6-7pm on a Friday night and it was pretty empty. We were seated in the lounge section and there was only one other table in our section, which is a bit unfortunate for a “conversation club”.
Service: Our waiter was slightly green but was polite and accommodating.
Food: The food was unfortunately the worst part, which is not a good indicator for a restaurant.
We did not happen to eat any of the pizza, instead we had the meatballs (good), the burrata salad (less of a salad and more of a charcuterie board, but still good), and the gnocchi (which was the best, and I would recommend.)
For dessert, we first ordered the Tiramisu, but sadly it was sour. Our waiter offered a fresh batch or a different selection, so we chose the cannolis.
Unfortunately, they too were sour nor sweet.
Our waiter was kind enough to comp these items from our bill (though only them), and we left to have dessert elsewhere.
For a regular restaurant, this would be an okay experience. But for the level of exclusivity advertised by The Filibuster, including its membership fee, I would not recommend and I will likely not be returning.
Pizzas might be good, but I’ve heard conflicting info. The drinks were likewise fine, though not stand-out.
Edit: made my...
