I am staying at the Renaissance Tampa at the International Plaza now. I am incredibly disappointed with most of the service that We have NOT received. Here are my examples of poor customer service; upon checking in, we asked for a few extra towels and an extra bed sheet since we were traveling with our toddler and his portable crib. We also asked for a robe and slippers to make it easier for me to bathe my toddler without getting my clothes wet. These are the things we asked for at check-in. Once we checked into our room, many hours passed and we ordered room service (food) and inquired about our previous requests. The front desk person asked me to repeat my request again and housekeeping would bring me the things that I asked for. I repeated my request, then started waiting for the food and for housekeeping to come by our room. The food came about 45 minutes later and the person delivering the food was so sweet to me and my toddler. Then house keeping came with towels and asked me again for my request, which I repeated, for a sheet for my crib and a robe and slippers. I waited all evening and never received what I requested, nor did I receive a call from the hotel’s front desk. As the evening grew later and I was nearly ready to bathe my toddler, I contacted the front desk about my requested items again, they placed me on a brief hold and then came back to my call to let me know that they were out of robes and slippers but the extra bed sheet would be on it’s way shortly. They never came, I never received the bed sheet. The next morning, I requested that housekeeping come by at around 3:00 to clean the room since my toddler was napping at the time of my call (12:30). At 3:00, my toddler and I left the room and saw that housekeeping was only a few rooms away from ours. That means they were cleaning all of the rooms around ours at around the same time that we requested ours to be cleaned. When we arrived back in our room around 6:00, I thought that housekeeping had NOT been there since the beds were not made, but then realized that they HAD, IN FACT been there, when I saw that they had re-stocked the hand soap. So they never made the beds or cleaned, aside from taking the pile of garbage that we left in shopping bags by the toilet trash can. Read moreI have never been as disappointed as I was this past weekend at a Marriott hotel. At check in they were aware that we a package deal that included breakfast at the restaurant. This is something that was sold to me while making my reservation. At check in I ask for a luggage cart to bring my clothes and suitcases to the room. I was told that they were locked up until 7 o'clock in the morning and there was no one there to help me, I was on my own. Absolutely absurd ! The room was relatively clean but the carpet was in bad shape and desperately needed a shampoo. There was no mini fridge, a surprise to me but maybe I should have checked when making the reservation. There was no water pressure to speak of in both the shower and the sink, due to I guess what appeared to be water saving fixtures. Never seen anything like it. Taking a shower was a joke, washing your hands in the sink was another joke. Never experienced anything like it. Went down to the restaurant in the morning for our breakfast, I explained to the server the package we had and she did not agree. She went to the front desk and came back to tell us that we were correct and that we had unlimited access to the menu to choose what we wanted. I will say the breakfast was very good. The service was very very slow. I guess to be expected when there's only one server in the restaurant. The food after finally placing the order took forever to come out and it was COLD. Server was willing to replace the order but we did not want to wait. It would have been at least another 20 minutes. Another person came out with the food on a tray, placed it on the table top near the window and left. We had to wait for the server to come out and and bring it to our table. I will not put fault on the server who happened to be extremely nice. The next morning we went through the same scenario but this time when the server returned from the front desk telling that we had a $16 max per person which equals $32 total. Without any exaggeration the service was extremely slow to the point the couple that came in after us and were waiting patiently finally asked me if it was self service. Very slow to taking the order, extremely slow receiving the order and once again receiving it COLD. No fault of the server who was extremely nice but the only one working. Would have never stayed here if I only read past reviews. Marriott Corporation should be embarrassed with this property and its operation....

In fact, I am amazed how quiet the Hotel is even though they had events each Night of My Stay, I never heard the usual noise. The rooms wall must have more insulation as well as I have not heard TV or talking in rooms beside like most Hotels
The Renaissance is also located by International Mall which is great as well for Dining and Shopping
Most will not need a Rental Car
I travel a lot and this Hotel is excellent!
The Beds are so comfortable!
I extended my stay due to Excellent Service and Comfort! It is so quiet here despite being by airport and mall

I won a Free Bottle of Wine! I later won 500 Points on Rewards account
Diana is friendly also and has great attitude that is perfect for her Position as Manager!
Nelson who is Housekeeping Supervisor is Friendly and quick to resolve issues
He sent me a hand written note, cheese and fruit plate and wine!
I appreciate that very much!

Laura throughly cleaned the room with a great attitude and humor Chesly in housekeeping is great! She smiles and has such a nice personality. She hurt her hand but still smiled and worked hard to make sure everything was restocked
Elizabeth delivered wine glasses as well as Platter of food to the room with smile and cheer!
Elaine in the Club Lounge is very attentive and goes that extra mile and above and beyond over and over again! She even went to get Whipped Cream for my coffee since it was not busy! She remembers names and what your Food needs are as well
Teresa in the Club Lounge is very attentive and super Friendly as well. She makes Guests feel comfortable
