My husband and I visited Fleming's in Tampa on 11/10 while visiting the city on vacation. We had reservations for 8:30PM and only had to wait about five minutes to be seated upon checking in with the host. The atmosphere when we entered was pleasant; the lighting was appropriate, the restaurant was busy, and the customers appeared happy. We were seated in a booth near the kitchen, which has an open kitchen concept with a clear glass barrier separating the kitchen, walking aisle, and dining room.
Our server, Derick, and server assistant, Selena, were phenomenal. Our appetizers, the crab cakes and the 4oz. Wagyu were also quite impressionable.
The issue with our visit is that we ordered a Filet Mignon, medium, and another filet with goat cheese medallions and a blueberry sauce, medium rare. We got our steaks about an hour and fifteen minutes after ordering. The medium rare steak that was ordered came out medium well and the medium steak came out well done. We also ordered a lobster mashed potato and instead got lobster mac and cheese. It took a while for us to find our server as another server walked by us twice, noticed we weren't eating, and then had to go locate him. He agreed that our steaks were overcooked and got the manager to come and address the issue. We got our steak re-cooked, however, at that time the main dining room's staff had been cut for the evening and so we felt like we weren't able to actually enjoy our meal as we were aware they couldn't fully close with us in the room. We were not the only couple that had to return the food they ordered, the couple in an adjacent booth also had food that was overcooked. Which was a shame because I am a dessert girlie and we were really excited to try Fleming's. We felt as though the ending of our night ruined our entire experience. Our server gave us the check and said the manager did us a favor and took something off, but the something off that he took was the re-ring for the steaks the kitchen overcooked! They did that for inventory purposes, not customer service. I have no issue with paying for what we ordered because that's what we expected, however, don't make it out to seem like you're doing us a favor. Overall, we decided we would not return to this establishment in the future. If you're a "Prime Steakhouse" your steaks should be done correctly the first time! They should be the star! The steaks and ending experience were the most lackluster part of...

Read moreThere’s much to talk about in this fine dining establishment. Steaks are the best food for all kinds of reasons, and Fleming’s surely gives any steak lover a taste of good cooking.
I had seen Fleming’s have an entirely new restaurant that is modern, spacious, and surprisingly quiet at the time of my visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant was intimate, allowing for conversations to flow wherever you would be seated. You may run across hearing some the pianist play music like I did. The bar is wide and the wine cellar looks to be very unique. If you want a quiet atmosphere, try going on a night during a summer evening. Atmosphere 9/10
Kate made my rather late birthday celebration a treat! She made plenty of recommendations based on my taste and curiosity to the menu. She even waked me through the head chef’s creations which I don’t get to see in many restaurants. Kate was wonderful in complimenting my birthday with an in house strawberry lemonade, which had an excellent sugar ratio to the drink. Even throughout the service, Kate was diligent in ensuring my food and experience was served to my liking, very nice service people! Service 10/10
The food is incredible and it left me very full at the end. Make sure you leave room for yourself for the prime steak, take it from someone who is a big eater. I ended up ordering the Burrata with prosciutto, a very appetizing dish that sparked my taste buds for the evening. The garlic notes elevated the overall flavor, you can’t go wrong with ordering it. I had the Caesar salad and the mashed potatoes to side my prime dry aged ribeye. For a rather thinner cut steak, the medium rare was cooked to perfection. Well seared on all sides and I took awhile to get through it. Had I not ordered all the appetizers and sides, I would’ve gone for the tomahawk ribeye instead, so I’ll go for that next time! Food 9.2/10
The evening concluded with chocolate truffles which are rich but worth it if that’s something you’re interested in trying. I was able to sit down and digest a perfect ending to a birthday celebration, and I think for any occasion you’re celebrating, or are looking for a cocktail party, whatever it may be, Fleming’s will more than likely fulfill your...
