We are currently staying at the Hampton inn Taos. We have two rooms. I am pretty satisfied so far with our stay, and will update if I have any issues. The hotel seems to be a little older, but kept in pretty good condition. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are nice. The free WiFi and breakfast are nice. One of our TVs won’t change channels so we need to get that taken care of. We called in advance to have our rooms right next to each other but when we arrived they were several doors down from one another. That wasn’t preferred, but it is ok since they are close enough. The front desk staff is helpful and seems nice so far. I haven’t gotten ahold of anyone to fix my tv yet. The pull out couch beds (in our king rooms) are just ok, they could be better. You can hear the street noises from the room, so keep that in mind. It hotel probably could use a little bit more updates since it’s pretty expensive to stay at during the winter considering it’s one of the only “nice” hotels in town in my opinion. Overall it’s decently kept and overall I would give it 3.5-4 stars out of 5 stars. Yes I would recommend it because it’s one of the nicest hotels in Taos. If I have any issues or anything changes I will update. If I could give this hotel one suggestion it would be a deep cleaning of the rooms would make the rooms feel a bit more fresh. I’m pretty picky though so 3.5-4 out of 5 stars from me is pretty good. I would like to thank the staff at the front desk for being accommodating so far, besides the tv issue that hasn’t gotten sorted yet lol. I’m sure it will get taken care of. Also keep in mind currently (dec 2021) the pool is closed, but not the hotels fault. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Edited to add: We are towards the end of our stay at this hotel now and we have had a good stay. The friendly staff really makes this hotel enjoyable. The free breakfast is just ok. Like I mentioned above, a deep cleaning and a little TLC towards the furniture would make this hotel...
Read moreAfter a 10 hour drive, we were road weary and ready to settle in for a two day stay at the Hampton Inn Taos. A year in the making for this trip with my sweetheart husband was greatly anticipated. As we were checking in, the first noticeable thing was that the restroom was blockaded and posted as closed. I disagreed with this and went anyway because I had an emergency. The front desk clerk whose name I did not get was not very friendly nor helpful. We showed her our reservation confirmation for a king, non-smoking whirlpool, but her response was that Hilton always over books, and that we used our points (which we did not), and that we had booked with a 3rd party, (which we did not). When we tried to explain that we had driven a long way and just wanted the room we had reserved, she replied that she did not care where we came from and said the room was not available. My husband commented that she won’t last long at this job with that attitude, from which she said nothing. We found her to be very curt and offensive with such rudeness. Reluctantly, we checked in to the room and made the best of it. I had already decided to file a complaint with management about her terrible treatment of us. There was absolutely no reason for this behavior. After several tries to file the complaint, we finally did get a response from Julianne Lucero, management. She responded very promptly and professionally, and gave me what I requested. She gave me her word that she would speak to the clerk about her attitude as well as provide more training plus apologized on behalf of her staff while providing other positive Incentives. Her response to us covered the whole negative experience and would stay there again when we return to Taos for another adventure. Everything else as far as accommodations of the hotel were fine- the room was comfortable and nice enough. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the pool and gym were closed but...
Read morehad to come to taos for an unexpected funeral. drove an entire day to be here on emergency leave since we are military. after such a long drive the only thing we wanted to do was relax. the hotel itself seemed clean and was newly renovated. so as it looked nice, i was pleased. noticed the bathtub was a little dirty but brushed it off. before heading to bed i noticed that there was a bunch of hair on the pillow. thought it was weird since we just checked in earlier and hadn't slept in the bed yet. picked up the pillow and saw a bunch of little hairs under where the pillow was so i decided to pick up the sheets and check the rest of the bed. to my surprise, there was a massive amount of hair and dirt all over the sheets. i was disgusted. called for new sheets and luckily got them quickly. had to take the sheets off ourselves and put the new ones on. following morning asked to speak to a manager and the room inspector INSISTED that she checked the room before we checked in. hilton is priding itself on taking "extra precautions" during this global pandemic which obviously isn't true at this location. i have an auto-immune disease, and if i wouldn't have checked the sheets before going to sleep i could have gotten really sick. this is gross negligence from the hotel and shows that they really do not care about the well being of their guests while a highly contagious pandemic is going around. grieving the loss of a family member and dealing with health problems, the LAST thing i should have to worry about is coming to an unclean room that i...
