We enjoyed our stay in our cabin as it was comfortable, quiet, and well-stocked. Little decorating touches show the owners care about their cabins. The cabin included two beds, which are separated by a bathroom. The bedroom areas are open to the living space. If you have a lot of people staying, you will probably want to bring camp chairs inside because there is only a small sofa for seating unless you want to sit at the kitchen table or breakfast bar. A small TV hangs from the wall facing the sofa. If you prefer outside seating, there are two chairs on the deck by the front door to the cabin, and plenty of chairs outside by a communal fire pit. If you drink coffee and there is more than one coffee drinker, you will need to be patient because the coffee maker only makes five cups at a time. Also of note, there is no place to unpack a suitcase and stash your clothes. No dressers or closets are in the cabin. Several hooks by the front door were occupied by our coats, but we had to live out of our suitcase for our three-night stay. If you like to see owners, you will most likely not see them here as every message came through email or text. The front door is push button coded, and you'll receive the code before you arrive via text. When we had to reach the owner, we texted, and he responded within minutes, so we had no issues there. Only one other person was staying here when we were here, so it was very quiet. The highway is close, so you may hear some traffic noise. You can also walk into town as a residential area is a block away, as is the river, so the location is perfect even if a little traffic buzzes by on the highway. Mostly, you'll hear the birds and...
Read moreThis has taken me a while to get to but I did note a review that provided a similar experience regarding 'Business Practices'. I had called and booked a cabin for the next weekend (a week in advance), they posted payment immediately. I called within 48 hours to cancel the reservation due to other arrangements made by another member of our group (yes they asked "why"). I was told they would start the cancellation process. I failed to ask, and they failed to mention that I would be receiving an email confirming the cancellation. I did not discover the email until just 48 hours before the reserved date. I responded and then was sent an email that the short notice may not be sufficient to cancel the reservation and receive a refund if they can't resell the reservation. FIRST; I already mentioned the lack of consideration with regard to telling me I would be receiving a cancellation email. SECOND; The email, once discovered, did not come from the Professional email account as the reservation confirmation had. It came from a personal email account with the guys name, which could have easily been discarded as possible 'junk/spam'. Lastly; I was told when I called to make the original reservation that the property was much closer to our destination than it actually turned out to be. We did not stay at that property at all, but were charged for two nights. Poor business...
Read moreI used to love this place. There are 2 couples that take care of the place, on different weeks. I worked with the same couple 3 years in a row. This last year, I worked with a different couple. The place was beautiful as always. Myself, and 8 other people rented out 2 cabins, with no dismay. While we were hanging out, as well as hanging out with our neighbors that were staying there as well(that we didn't know), the owners texted me. The owner stated that the neighbors called them, and complained about us, and were saying all these different things that we were supposedly doing. This was not true,.we were all hanging out with each other, having a great time. We even asked the neighbors if we were disturbing them. The owners did call police to roll through the cabin area and because nothing was wrong they left. I texted the owner, apologized, and informed that the neighbors told us nothing was wrong, and asked why they lied. I still have not received any correspondence back, and it has...
