La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tempe University / Phoenix — Hotel in Tempe

When I checked in, hotel said they were going to put a $75 hold on my credit card and it may stay there for 30 days. They said incidental hold was NOT their fault and I would need to get with my credit card company to speed process up to remove $75 charge. || I did call my credit card company and was told that it is up to the hotel and not my credit card company to remove $75 charge. I called hotel 2 times and asked for manager to call me back. They did not. I called my credit card company who put a dispute in with the hotel.|| Everything was left in good order at hotel. This is an independent operator with Wyndam brand。 ||When I got to Tempest hptel , the tv did not work and front desk said they were only one on staff and I would have to wait hours until someone came who could resolve issue.|| I checked out about a month ago and may have to wait another 6 weeks to get my $75 back if I ever do. They don't have staff to check room on spot to verify all is well and then they charge bogus $75 fee that you have to fight to get back. If I do not get my $75 back as promised, I will escalate further。|| Be careful...

The hotel is ok. Nothing special. Not old or worn down but not high end either. Breakfast is very disappointing. Only carbs - bagels, toast, cereal or muffins, with a choice of a banana or an apple. Only protein option was high sugar yougurt. There is coffee, tea and juice as well. The pool is really the size of a large spa and there is no spa. They do have a "beer garden" which is a bunch of picnic tables, a couple of grills and market lights where you can handout and drink. No one was there when we spent the weekend. Overall, it is what it is for the money you spend. I would stay here again if I wanted to save a little money; but my expectations would...

We booked this reservation under The Tempest Hotel Tempe ASU, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member 1375 E. University Dr. Tempe, AZ 85281 US. However when we arrived I was confused because this clearly isn’t that. Thought we were lost. Nope in the right place just falsely advised. The rooms were not as picked, definitely looked 15 times better in the pictures. The breakfast was decent and the staff members were nice. I felt bamboozled pulling up and not seeing the right hotel name. And the mold!!! Mold...
