Good: Very clean restrooms. I never eat at restaurants a second time that have bad or poor restrooms. It was very clean, almost immaculate looking. I enjoyed my dessert after having a couple drinks. It was good.
I've eaten at this place prior before yesterday, and they do have some really good sushi options. The restaurant atmosphere is relaxing.
Bad: I ordered an item that was supposed to have "steamed rice". It came out cold, and I let the waiter know the rice was cold and asked for warm rice. Another server, probably her senior/lead, came and said this dish had sushi rice. I had to literally show this waiter, using the menu itself, that the menu showed this eel dish had "steamed rice", not sushi rice; that was the tuna dish below it on the menu; how does he not know that? Then, when the dish came back the rice was more lukewarm than actually hot or steamed. I just ate it though at that point because I was hungry, I was getting tipsy, but it wasn't satisfying.
I ordered a dessert which was great, but I got charged $12 dollars for it. The menu clearly had it at $10 dollars. I had to point this out to the senior/lead there and he said, "I've always known it to be $12 but I'm very sorry I'll discount it for you". Let me get this straight, you guys are regularly charging people $12 dollars for an item on the menu that CLEARLY says it's $10 dollars? Bro...
Mediocre: I ordered two Cuba Libres (Coke & Rum) and requested more Coke than Rum in the drink. The first one had a little more rum than I wanted, but it was still okay, but the second one came back and it had a lot more rum than I wanted.
I'm giving this place a 3 because my latest experience wasn't poor, but it wasn't good. I give this location a C+ for food.
2nd Review:
I came back to this restaurant again since I always eat at restaurants I know have clean restrooms, and this place has their restrooms practically immaculate looking.
I ordered during happy hour some drinks and sushi and took it outside. I enjoyed my food this time, the sushi and such. I'll probably avoid ordering the fried rice since it's just okay, but I'm curious to try other stuff I haven't tried.
I was grateful that one of the male staff saw the sun was hitting me and moved one of the shades to shield me from the sun. I do appreciate that.
Improved food experience. I do believe I will return for...
Read moreSince new to town and after doing a search for sushi close to the hotel I am currently staying at, Sushi 101 popped up. I decided to give them a try. This was a few weeks ago. I walked in and since it was after lunch and before dinner they were slow. I decided to sit at the bar since I just wanted to eat and get going. The bartender promptly greeted me and took my order. The sushi came out relatively quick due to the time of day and it was really good. I ordered the High Rise as well as a few others. The wait staff and the bartender were very nice and I had a really enjoyable time.
This evening I decided to go back. This place closes relatively late on Thursday evenings. I walked in and (again) decided to sit at the bar. Before I could even sit down the lady working asked me if I was going to drink or eat sushi. She sounded like I was preventing her from closing even though the restaurant would still be open for a few more hours. I Shrugged it off and sat down. She gave me a menu and I promptly ordered two rolls and some pot stickers since I wanted to get back to the hotel and partly because if I was holding her up, I would do my best to minimize that. The rolls promptly came out and were delivered by a food runner that was very nice and polite. The bartender hastily cleaned her bar and went out to talk to a table for a few. When she came back I gave her my card and she rang me up and tonelessly told me to have a nice night and went back to whatever she was doing.
Perhaps the bar closes early and I should have asked to be seated at a table. Next...
Read moreI'm not too happy with this place. My boyfriend and i went here tonight and i was starving so we ordered sushi, ramen and teriyaki chicken. My boyfriends teriyaki chicken came first so i was like, okay, no problem, and i just keep waiting for mine. About 20 minutes go by, still no sushi or ramen. Okay, whatever, its fine. About 10 more minutes pass and my boyfriend is done with his chicken and, finally, the sushi comes out and no ramen. After scarfing down the sushi (i was about to keel over), the waiter comes out and says the ramen was never put in and if i still wanted it, it'll be another ten minutes. I'm done at this point so i just say no and the waiter keeps telling me "there's nothing i can do about it". I don't care. I didn't even get a "sorry for the inconvenience" apology. It just wasn't a good experience. Not good service, food was mediocre, I'd recommend elsewhere if you actually care about...
