I started watching a YouTube channel, when my wife and I decided to try kayaking. From his videos I wanted to try premium kayaks and found a place to rent them. But their customer service didnât match what this youtuber said kayak stop should be like. I tried a few other shops, and they were much the same. I had pretty much given up that any kayak place I could find in AZ would ever really have the inclusive, informative, and community-based feel that youtuber talked about. I recently was watching a video from that youtuber, he did a video here in AZ and he said he was in Riverbound Kayak in Tempe AZ. So, I looked up their website and saw that they had some of the kayaks I really wanted to see in person. My wife and I went down to look last Saturday. I figured I would look at the kayaks and research my questions later like any other store.
From the second we opened the door we knew this place was different. There were customers in the store, but the two people working said hi to us as we walked in. âWe will be with you as soon as we can.â I was quite shocked but said itâs alright we are just looking. The female said, âok great, if you have questions, please let us know.â We were in there a short time, and the other customer had left, and the gentleman came to see if we had any questions. I mentioned to him I had been watching this youtuber, and saw he did a video in their store, and wanted to look at some of the kayaks they carried. He knew the youtuber. We started talking about kayaks and what my wife and I had been doing as far as kayaks. I was blown away because he was engaging in a lengthy in-depth conversation. When I responded to him, he listened to what I had to say. I mean, these days customer service really means listening for key words and pointing. This was a conversation between two people with a common interest, one with a little more knowledge. This gentleman not only put all the other kayak shops to shame that I have been to in AZ and Southern Cali, he surpassed the youtuberâs definition of a good kayak shop. He showed us options that might work for my wife. Mentioned their event page since the youtuber comes out here and they do events with him.
I have figured I would most likely buy a kayak online. After visiting this shop, I will be buying them from this store. I normally want to visit the business a few times before putting up a review, but these two people (I really wish I had gotten their names.) were friendly and very genuine people. I donât believe you can fake that. While we were there, my wife noticed the difference in this store too (I may or may not have been reminded it was a quick look at a couple kayaks. Hehehehe) I normally worry about companies that have a few hundred reviews and a 5.0 score but this place from my experience so far is truly a 5-star business. I will update the...

She makes you feel Like youâre the first customer that has ever walked through her doors and she gives you 100% attention and answers all of your questions thoroughly regardless of how repetitive they must be on a day in and day our basis.
Iâve purchased multiple products from her over the years and as a result have been invited to attend their group outings which can be found on Facebook âRiverbound Paddle Meetup and Eventsâ Group which is over 1200 strong locally and growing daily.
They provide boards for group instruction, for families, couples and groups on vacation and for SUP Yoga at several destinations whether a local lake, river, or even some local resort pools and high end fitness centers.
Riverbound is the real deal and they are here to stay. You may have a handful of rental and retail choices in the Phoenix area, but I assure you Riverbound has quality products for all age ranges and budget price points. Above all, their service is second to none.
Not only do they sell and rent quality boards and kayaks, they sell amazing apparel, and if you love long boards and one wheels, youâre in luck, they have them too!!!!!

Read moreThis was my first visit. All the customers along with the staff were soooo friendlyâŚ.
Now on the one wheelsâŚ. âI have been 3 times nowâ.
She took at least 10 minutes telling me the pros, cons, and even asking questions about my previous experiences with any type of board riding sports I have done, Basically she would tell u, âthis might not be for you,âOR, âyour going to love itâ
The only thing I wish I would have purchased the GT AND NOT THE PINTâŚ
Thatâs the only thing looking back. I spent $1500 then 1 week later $2300âŚ.I wish I really would have went elsewhere or had her get the inventory from home, to buy the GT.
(IMPORTANT TO KNOW)They are not intended for a beginner to get the pint x and more advanced the GT. If anything the GT IS EASIER TO RIDE! Itâs capabilities are increased also⌠that is all adjustable in the app. U can start beginner, and work up as u get used to it.
I was not aware, but regardless of your skill level the GT IS easier to ride, unless you are under 90 pounds or 10 -13 in age.
She also pointed out and warned me, yes they have warranty at one wheel, but NO RETURNS FOR REFUND, One wheel no return policy.
Last thing to point out they have a large selection on parts, safety gear!!!
I...
