Filthy, Nasty, Horrible. Black Mold, Blood, Drug Works, Explosive Diarrhea, Smoke. Urine Puddles, Garbage, Junkies||||* WARNING *||||We were laying up to fly out the next morning. We had stopped outside a Whole Foods, and this Motel 6 came up, only 1.9miles away. It's only a few blocks from Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, etc. properties, just off US10 near the airport.||||We asked if they had a quiet, non-smoking room for a good night's sleep and a place to repack our 5 bags after our extended camping trip in the beautiful desert and woods of Arizona. There was not a single surface that you'd want to touch, sit on, lay out your clothes, items on. We're used to "roughing it," but this property seems like a HEALTH & SAFETY HAZARD. See attached photos (would have taken more, but we were getting queasy as we looked more closely).||||In addition to the items in the subject line above, add hairs and wet toilet paper clumps stuck to walls, food particles, insects, nauseating smell of stale tobacco and chemicals (despite being told we'd have a non-smoking room), etc. The room had two double beds. One didn't have a bedspread or blanket we could see. Both had sheets that were yellowed, with prominent stains, and were so threadbare that they showed the mattresses through them (no bed pad or covering). Both mattresses had nasty stains on the tops; we looked underneath for bed bugs, and they were even worse. Apparently they just flipped the mattresses to try and hide even worse carnage. See photo of one that appeared to be "spreading," looking like a combination of blood, feces, black mold, etc.||||Going into the room, had to feel in around in the dark for a switch. Couldn't find one by door. Touched lamp and it was massively sticky. As was the next fixture.||||The stairs were covered with trash, and the elevator was disgusting - smelly urine puddle, layers of unclean food, flooring trip hazard, broken lights, etc. Used condom "stuck" on pavement. We had to walk by a room with broken out window covered with plywood; viewing into the room looked like something from a horror movie basement morgue scene. Groups of very dirty, strung out people "hanging around" the property added to the day of the dead vibe. Oh yeah, I was the only one wearing a COVID mask, out of 7 people, in the cramped check in.||||And they were charging almost $100 for these rooms!||||I wish we had seen the previous TripAdvisor review before booking there. How they have a 3 out of 5 star rating is baffling. Too bad there's no "negative rating" that could be reviewed and weighted for such a horrific property.||||BTW, we've never posted a review before; but if we can save anyone else from staying here, it's worth the time to write this PSA.||||I've travelled extensively for decades, and never encountered such a horrific "motel," even in the poorest and dirtiest of developing nations. If this is the only place with availability, do yourself a favor and sleep in your car for the night instead.||||I don't know what tags to add. What would you add? #Team6 #publichealthhazard...
Read moreOne star so far. This is an ongoing saga. It started when we arrived at check in and were told that housekeeping was short-staffed and our checking would be delayed by an hour. No wait, it started when we called all morning to find out if there was early check in and no one answered the phone. Ever. Anyway, at the one hour mark, no room ready. By then, the front desk clerk was done giving estimates. My boyfriend checked a little bit later, still no info. He threatens to contact the corporate office and then sends off a scathing email when the phone recording announces it's after hours. The next time, we checked if our room was ready, I went in, because my boyfriend was getting a little hot over the whole thing. I waited while she checked.in the guy before me and then I'm told she still had no estimate. And THEN she says our reservation was cancelled. So I go out to get my boyfriend and when he comes in she says the internet is down and that's why the rooms weren't clean and why she can't find our reservation. We went back in when we realized she had just checked someone in, to find her checking someone else in. When we stepped up to the counter, she asked if we had already contacted corporate. When we said yes, she says "oh well they are probably handling it, that's why I can't find it." I told her no, it was after hours and I doubt anyone will read that email until tomorrow. She said she still couldn't find our reservation and I said well I guess we'll be sending a follow up. At that time she checked us in to #116. We got to the room and found someone else in the room. They said they had just checked in after waiting all day. We returned to the front desk where the clerk checked us in to #141, an upgrade she said. A room big enough for.our dogs to run around. 141 turned out to be a handicapped accessible room the size of a small hospital room with a double bed in it. I returned to the front t desk and told her we needed to change rooms and there was no way that we and our 2 dogs could stay in that room for 3 days. First she said that was all there was and then she said they would change us in the morning. It is right now 730pm and I am sitting in the hospital room with my cranky boyfriend and my two cranky dogs. Check in should have been at 300pm. We will see how they do...
Read moreUpon Check in, unbeknownst to me, I was given the wrong room. How is that my fault? The situation was completely mishandled by Motel 6 staff the next morning.
I left the property in the morning to get breakfast and when I retuned, of my personal items were removed from my registered and paid in full room, except for my pizza and sprite.
I was accused of not being in the correct room, like I'm a homeless person squatting on their property. How was this my fault if the MOTEL 6 staff are the ones that checked me in and gave me the key?
Obviously, it was a confusing to me, especially when all of my belongings were gone when we returned from breakfast. I went to the front desk to ask if anyone had been in my room and told them all my stuff was gone and they told me they did not have it and belittled and mocked me, provoking me to threaten to call the police. I went outside to look around for my stuff and house keeper told me they had it after the front desk said they did not. This was completely unprofessional and disheartening. I am still in disbelief that this could even happen.
After they returned my stuff, I retuned to my room and rather then an apology, I got the police called on me and was trespassed off the property after the first night because of the confusion over the front desk's mistake.
The front desk staff checked me in for two nights, and gave me the key to the room, how was I not authorized to be in that room? It was paid for, I was given the key. I was a registered guest and I have the receipt! I can not believe you treat your guests that way.
The front desk was hostile, unhelpful, unprofessional and did not treat me like a guest. I want my money back! I had to find another place to stay and spend more money on uber to get there.
The place I went to treated me respectfully and even had breakfast and no one took my stuff or treated me unfairly.
BEWARE do not go to this MOTEL 6, in fact just avoid this crummy hotel chain, they hire people that are irrational and try to cover up their mistakes by treating their...
