My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Tampa Fairgrounds from June 8–11 while in town for the Wu-Tang/Run the Jewels show and honestly, I can’t say enough great things about this hotel!||First off: the rooms were immaculate. Like, truly clean. It’s the first time in forever I’ve walked into a hotel room and didn’t get smacked in the face by that dreaded mildew/mold smell. This was a huge deal for us—my husband has breathing issues, and we’ve actually had to leave hotels before unpacking because of it. But here? Not a single issue the entire stay. That alone is a win. The beds were super comfy, the room came with a mini fridge/micro/coffe/bar setup, the ac PUMPED (thank goodness bc the last hotel we stayed at...it was broken upon arrival and it was NOT fun in this heat...), and the living room seating area was the perfect amount of extra space. Speaking of extra...need an extra pillow? Boom - front desk had it ready for me in under 5 minutes (I requested the same at our last hotel and it took over an hour and 3 phone calls). Need to print a label last minute because your husband forgot one and you needed it (yes, this is a true story LOL)? Enter Aabrianna at the front desk, who absolutely saved the day. (whoever reads this from the hotel, please tell her I still owe her a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar! I offered one as a thank you, but they melted in our room. Rookie mistake thinking the cooler was cold enough before ACTUALLY checking… 😅)||Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and just genuinely kind. Huge shoutout to Aabrianna, Doupe, Marthe, La'Jaysha, Renee, and Dwayne—you all helped make our stay amazing! (Hope we didn't miss anyone!)||Breakfast was on point every morning, with a solid selection: eggs, bacon or sausage (depends on the day), waffles, cereals, fruit, bagels, toast, and scones. Different juices and electrolyte water - yum! Everything was fresh and tasty—definitely not your sad, stale muffin situation.||The location? Perfect. Right off the highway, so it was a breeze getting downtown, to the casino, or anywhere else we needed to go - usually within 15 minutes. The property itself felt private and secure, with free parking (hallelujah!) - a much better vibe than paying $50/night for valet downtown..no thank you.||Bonus tip: Don’t sleep on the wings at WingHouse just up the road. We stopped in there exhausted after a long day and were blown away—some of the best wings we’ve had!||As a Hilton Gold member who’s stayed at a ton of Hilton family properties, this one’s easily in my top 3. My husband and I already agreed - we’re staying here every time we’re in the area. Thanks again to the entire team for such a fantastic stay—we truly...

Read moreMy husband and I came into town from Jacksonville FL for a concert. We found this location online, and it is very close to the venue. I booked the room ( via Expedia) at the same time I purchased the tickets for the concert. After the hotel was booked, I received my conformation via email. The date was incorrect and was on the day prior. I contacted expedia, they said it was corrected and the original booking rate. Fast forward 4 months later, we made the 4 hour drive to check into the hotel. We were greeted by the front desk, was then informed that the rate was not corrected, we were charged an additional amount. The hotel manager said he could see the notes on expedia website, but could do nothing about it. I would need to contact expedia myself. Being tired, and wanting to still save the evening, I went ahead and paid the incorrect price. The hotel was very clean, and well maintained. The location was perfect and the breakfast was delicious. I am not disputing that what so ever. Upon checking out, I once again was (Rudely) informed to contact expedia to get my "money back, we dont got nothing to do with it." I didn't dispute this with the hotel, I just wanted to get home and contact expedia later on. Here I am, a week later and have been getting the run around. I contacted Expedia, placed my request. And have been going back an d fourth. I did not bother the hotel what so ever. Until today. I received an email from Expedia stating that they need approval from the hotel. I called the hotel, spoke with the DM and was told there is nothing that the hotel can do. This is a problem with Expedia, they charged the virtual card on the account. Keep in mind, the hotel did NOT charge a virtual card, they charged my actual debit card. I provided Expedia with a screen shot of my bank account. After all of this, I get an email from Expedia explaining the hotel will not issue the refund of the difference from what I was supposed to be charged VS what I was charged. They offered me a $ 10 ONE KEY CASH. Are you kidding me?? I will never use Expedia for booking again. And I will never stay at this hotel again. For the fact that they knew they could help but didn't. The fact that they left me (the consumer) to handle all of this, ridiculous. The lack of customer service, and empathy is horrible. I also worked in hospitality, and would never tell a customer " we have nothing to do with it". And point fingers, just to run me in circles.
I hope that in the future, these "guest service reps & managers" will not have to deal with this same issue in their...
