After browsing a buying a few items while out with hubby, teen son, and mom-n-law one rainy evening I walked outside to catch a smoke (yeah I know, yuk) while waiting on the others to finish up I remembered I had a heavy winter coat in the car I didn't need anymore. Halfway to retrieve the bi bulky coat I realized I didn't have a bag big enough to put it in and the donation bin was already overflowing. Without thinking it thru I headed for the bin, my intention was to grab a large bag that was only partly full, take it to my car and put the coat in with the other donations already in the bag. I didn't want it to get all wet and yucky from the rain hoping it would get put on the floor quicker so someone who needed it could get it quicker. Halfway to my car an employee started shouting "thief!! We're calling the cops!" I then realized what it looked like I was doing and tried to explain to the lady what I was doing, but she just wouldn't listen and kept saying very loudly how I was an awful person stealing from the needy and other very embarrassing remarks when my family came out and looked mortified at the scene I was in the middle of!! Completely mortified I dropped the bag I was still holding, motioned for everyone to get in the car, grabbed the bulky (and expensive, may I add) coat I was planning to donate and threw it towards the ignorant employee who'd started the whole embarrassing ordeal, other employees and patrons had gathered by this time, and we drove away. Needles to say I will not b returning to that overpriced "store for the needy"...

Prices can be hit and miss, with some readily available bargain prices and others that are higher than vintage goods online at the large auction site everyone has heard of.
Some vintage items can be found here occasionally, including an odd antique or two.
It's a great place to donate goods, though, and no matter what the prices are, the proceeds are still being used to fund Salvation Army programs that help the economically disadvantaged and others alike.
An unmanned, self-service donation station is on the parking lot near the entrance which allows donations at nearly all times because it is open 24-7. However, it does sometimes get too full to allow any other donation deposits of through the station's drop-down opening. If this happens stop back by rather than just leaving donations alongside the station walls.
I've seen people pull up, park, and help themselves to bags of donations... As to whether they needed these, I cannot know. Perhaps some did, and, perhaps, others were hoping to profit from selling these items later. Just remember to consider whether this might matter to your charitable intentions--before leaving things lying about the outside of the station.
It's nice that your donations are used and that they're helpful, but it's also nice to shop for bargains and deals... Both have positive impacts on the...
Read moreIt’s a more expensive store for a thrift store. Also smaller and selection I guess is limited by the amount of donations l. I saw one pair of shorts for 599 at the store went at Walmart. The same pair was 699 new. Overall though it’s a Salvation Army and what can you really say about a Salvation Army. The people are really helpful but they seem to be shorthanded. They have a sign in there that says if you buy furniture, bring your own help to load it. That’s not something I’ve experienced at Goodwill and I’ve been to a lot of Goodwill’s so with that being said, I know I’ll go back because I’m always looking for a bargain. As a matter of fact, I just bought a used loveseat the other day at...
