Overall, the stay was barely adequate. It was not what I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Especially not for the price we paid ($90/day). Where to start...?
We set the A/C unit to its lowest "heat" setting (65°?) since it was sub-freezing out at the time, but didn't want the room oven-hot. The next morning, the area within about a foot of the unit was soaked with water. Several of our items were affected by the condensation. The door to the bathroom would not close. Either it was tilted on the hinges or the wood had swelled or something, but the closest the door would close still left a 1/2" gap. Unacceptable. When turned on, the TV defaulted to volume 99. Yep. So the minute you flipped to a channel, everyone on the floor knew about it. We found that you could turn the volume down prior to choosing a channel, but......why? Every other TV on the planet remembers the last volume level you were at. The TV also wouldn't allow us to choose a channel from the on-screen guide. We had to scan the guide, remember the channel number, then type in the number rather than pick from the guide. Not a life-changing issue, but not expected functionality. I tried to call the front desk about these issues from the phone in the room. Which didn't work. I picked up the receiver...no tone, no nothing. Hit 0, hit the designated Front Desk button, the Hospitality button...nothing. The USB ports in the power outlets next to the bed (presumably intended to charge cell phones) did not work. I had to plug into ports across the room to charge directly, or use a charging plug next to the bed. The refrigerator was tiny. I could get 3 bottles of water and a couple of cold-packs in it. That's it. I've seen coolers that were larger. We notified the front desk of all of these issues as we found them.
Why not change rooms? Because we'd already unloaded a ton of stuff into the room (Christmas-time). We encountered these issues starting the next day after check in. None of the problems were big enough to justify the effort of having to relocate, so we just lived with it.
Housekeeping. Oy vey. Where to begin?
We arrived on Christmas day. When I checked in, the clerk asked if we'd need housekeeping services. I told her we wouldn't need it every day, but some would be good. She said to just let them know when we needed it and they'd put us on the schedule. Big mistake.
Out of 6 days, we told them we needed service 4 times. We had full service ONCE. On the last day. Each other time we either got zero service or half service (one set of linens, one bed serviced). I had to go to the housekeeping cart to liberate my own linens on one occasion and had to leave the garbage can outside the room on another.
Every morning as we left, we notified the front desk that service was needed and were told it would be done. Unacceptable.
Also, at no point during our stay was the coffee service refilled. So we used the same glasses the entire week and used our own coffee/tea and pulled sugar/creamer from the in-house bistro area. Annoying but not a major imposition.
Finally, a gripe. There was no free continental breakfast. I know this isn't a requirement for hotels, but it's been included at literally every hotel I've stayed at in the last 10 years. We paid the same price for the room here as surrounding hotels who provide the free breakfast as part of the cost. Why not here?
So overall, the primary functions of the room (shower/bed) were acceptable despite the annoying issues. For the price and brand name of the hotel, I expected a far better experience.
I sincerely doubt we'll be staying again due to the obvious lack of maintenance done on the room and poor customer service. There's multiple hotels in the area which are priced similarly. I'm sure we'll get better service at one of those. Maybe the bathroom door will even close.

Read morePros: the place is clean. Two elevators. Prox cards worked well. Water is hot. Wifi in room 418 good. The walls and doors are pretty thick - not much outside noise comes in. Check-in clerk was helpful. Fitness room has modern machines which work well. The room has modern style decor and furniture - even the luggage cart has a modern design, and is easier to steer when you push it. All the employees were friendly, helpful or both. Tony especially, one of the housekeepers, is very good, very diligent and very hard-working.
Cons: There is no free breakfast! Wifi kept switching from Courtyard Guest to Courtyard Conference. The first few days, there was a faint odor in the room off and on, must or perspiration or humidity or something. I don’t usually get service, so one day I tried to exchange towels with the housekeeper. They were willing but didn’t have enough towels. After several days, the cold water starting coming in hot, almost as hot as the hot water. Letting the water run didn’t solve the problem. There is a downside to the modern theme. The luggage cart doesn’t hold as much luggage and there are almost no towel racks, as they don’t fit the decor. The modern mini-fridge wasn’t as big as a regular one. The bathroom fixtures, while new and gleaming, were cheap and didn’t work smoothly. In the lobby, there were books on a shelf. They were tied up in bundles of five, with the front, side and back covers ripped off. The books were intended purely as art, as decoration and not to be read, but what a peculiar way to display them.
General: when I mentioned the issue of the cold water running hot to the front desk, they gave me some Reward points. The elevator’s emergency call button is just below and in line with the buttons for the floors. I hit it by mistake. They had to take the elevator out of service while they checked it out. The hotel has a restaurant. Part of the contract says that the restaurant has the breakfast franchise, which is why there’s no free breakfast. In six days I never saw anyone eating at the restaurant.
Nothing really wrong with the place.

Read moreOverall, not a bad experience. When back in the area I may try a different hotel, but I wouldn't be upset if I stayed there again.
Check in- Check in was decently easy and the staff was easy to work with and professional. We arrived at check in time and not all of our rooms were ready. Wasn't the biggest deal this time since we had another room we could store our stuff.
Room- We had a king bed room with a pull out couch. The room itself was beautiful and well designed. Very comfortable bed and the air conditioning kept the room cool. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Biggest downfall was that the cold water was HOT. This meant that showering was painful as it was scalding hot. This was an off and on issue over the long weekend. Luckily, the day our son needed to shower was a day when the cold water was "luke warm" so it was cool enough for him to shower w/o being scalded.
Service - We only notice that service came once during our stay, but we aren't sure what they did as the trash was never emptied and the glasses were never washed. The only way we knew they were there was a printed note on the bed that they couldn't make it because we had personal items on it (my son's blanket and stuffed animal). We aren't messy people so it was fine, but clean glasses would have been nice.
Cafe - Our room didn't come with breakfast so I can't review the actual food. However, I would have been sad about the service. The items they served had to be made by one person and it took awhile. This person was also selling their starbucks coffee and there were some pretty rude customers who didn't want to wait. Our biggest issue was that someone in our party bought coffee every morning and the cream was spoiled. She had to get a new cup every morning and watch them open a new half and half container. Clearly, they are keeping it out overnight or after being told about it they never cleaned it out.
Overall...very very clean...
