Bob Evans — Restaurant in Toledo

Usually I would be wary about little restaurants like this. My previous experiences at Bob Evan's in particular have been less than nice, however I had the best morning ever at this particular location. Upon coming in, unlike most places, the restaurant smelled clean, but not over poweringly so like other Bob Evan's locations I've been to. My husband and I were sat and the waitress came over and took our drink orders and was very patient with us. I have never seen a waitress seem so happy to be at her job. Her name is Kayla and she is the sweetest, happiest and bubbliest waitress I have ever seen. I really wish that I could have given her a bigger tip. The food was very good, especially for its price. I got the ham biscuit Benedict and it was the best one that I've had since I was a kid (and I frequently order that dish at restaurants). Afterwards, I got the PB chocolate pie, which was amazing as well. Normally PB Chocolate pies are overpowering with the peanut butter taste, but this one was just perfectly blended. I would really recommend going to this one, because it's a good place to go when you just want to eat. 1/1/2022 at 5:30 p.m. tried to order online because I received a gift card online but sadly there is no option to submit a gift card. I then called the location to order and pay for carry out over the phone. Waited on hold for 20 minutes and still no response so I ended up just saving the gift card and ordering the carryout with my credit card online. Once getting to the location I called the curbside pick up number and no one answered still even though I saw multiple employees through the window standing next to the phone talking to each other. I walked in and went to the front register while at least six employees stood in the front area talking to each other and laughing, some of them looking at me and then looking away and continuing to sit around and talk. Finally one of those employees came up and acted like it was as a huge hassle to be bothered by a customer. Ordered a decent size meal for myself and wife and two children. Everything was cold even though I had been ten minutes early according to my pickup time. Looking around the dining room I noticed they had just one customer. Warning, keep expectations extremely low and avoid this location at all costs. I never leave bad reviews but...

If I could rate this establishment as no stars, I would. The service was great through the extensive kitchen issues. I ordered a burger medium rare and a side of fruit. After sitting in the service window for 20 minutes (Yes, we timed orders sitting in the window to pass the time waiting for our food. Several plates sat here for extended periods of time.) I refused the well done burger that happened to be my food sitting in the window. We heard the kitchen staff make a scene when it was returned. When the burger came out 15 minutes later the burger was purple. So far under done it was not edible. The assistant manager came over to see how our meal was. It was disappointing, embarrassing even! The assistant manager gave excuses as to why the burger came out this way and walked away never apologizing for the experience. I still have not received my fruit. Eventually the waitresses returned to the table and told us that the bill was taken care of. I stopped to say a thank you to the A.M. and she REFUSED to acknowledge me! Wow...just wow!
