I am posting my review on both hotels since Baymont was where we were supposed to stay and they offered their sister site with same amenities at the Rodeway inn and handled all of the service and check in etc.
If I could give negative star ratings I would. We originally booked at the Baymont Inn next door in Feb or March for a Stay in August. We drove from Arizona to Wisconsin and found out our room selection was not available (King with Pet Friendly) and that they would put us in the Road Way inn with the same amenities for a little cheaper. We agreed, however, when we got to the room, were very disappointed.
The room was not clean, blood spots on the wall, what looked like a streak of poop in front of the toilet. The counter the sink was in was sagging (no chance anything round would stay on it) the Shelf with the towels was coming out of the wall and the toilet paper dispenser was broken. In addition to this the bed was 'U' shaped and extremely uncomfortable, the paint job in the bathroom was completed OVER the masking tape and there were no vents to vent out the humidity from the shower. This left the room extremely humid to the point of making our belongings smell musty. The Door Jamb had clearly been kicked in at one point as the door (even locked) still opened a bit and the entire locking mechanism was loose.
There were no documents in the room to explain anything about the hotel, the city or anything.
The Amenities that we were told were available were not. In fact the office for the Rodeway Inn was closed and there were notes in the Baymont that were put up stating any Roadway Inn guest that wanted breakfast etc would need to pay $5 a day. No coffee maker in the room, an Iron without an Ironing board. And So on.
It took 3-4 requests over 3 days to get room service so we could get new towels and sheets (which we didn't get - and instead were told to go up to the Baymont to get towels and sheets and we could change them ourselves.) We had since went out and bought a couple towels since we weren't getting the service.
A day or 2 after this room service started replacing towels and in the process took the towels we had purchased which didn't look like their towels. When we brought this up - we were told that they would need to talk to the cleaners - upon check out we inquired again and they seemed clueless on the issue and stated the same. Clearly we were not going to be around for them to check with the cleaning service.
I'm sure anyone reading this is thinking "Well - Why did you stay" - Because we had been advised that the advanced booking was non refundable. And with what we seen at the hotel there wasn't much of a chance any other room was better.
The last amusement at the hotel the day we checked out was seeing a half naked drunk guy rolling around on the ground and barely able to stand himself back up.
Keeping things classy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst issue was that the road to get into the hotel was closed for construction. We went in circles and then I finally called and we were instructed to go through the shopping center parking lot and behind the movie theater. It would have been nice if we received this information via email prior to our check in so we didn't end up back on the highway several times. We also found out that we had to check in at the Travelodge. The clerk there was very nice and check in was smooth. Second issue, when we got to our room, the door was ajar. We slowly opened the door unsure of what we would find and the rooms seemed ok. However, the door and door jam looked like they had been busted into at some point. We tested the lock and it seemed to work fine. I know we probably should have turned and run, but we were tired and we had a very early morning flight to catch. I decided a bit later to get some ice as it was just down the hall a few rooms.. this is when I notice more rooms were ajar. I don't know why they would keep rooms open, but my imagination went crazy and I ran for the room and locked up behind me. Of course the door itself made a very loud screeching noise when you tried to close and lock it.
The shower was very dirty and the bathroom overall needed a good cleaning. At this point I decided I'd be sleeping in my clothes and showering at home in the morning. I didn't know what was ahead of us for the evening and now we're down to only 9 hrs until we leave for our flight. Between the noise of others in the hotel partying, running laughing.... and the uneasy feeling of being there, we got very little sleep. The sheets clearly had dirt stains, the phone looked like it had gone through a battle, the curtains were completely stained, the door looked horrific but it locked. I kept looking at the name on the paper work because I could not believe this was a Wyndham property. Then came the list of prices for replacement of items and the hotel rules.... I'd never in my life seen such a thing!
The area was sketchy at best, but we decided to take a chance and just hunker down in the room for the very quick evening and early flight out. 4am came quickly and we breathed a sigh of relief as we left the room and were on our way back home. I'm glad to read the new owner is taking care of updating the hotel. I could tell there was some new furniture and carpeting in the room. However, you really need to look into why doors are being kept ajar and you might consider cleaning up some of the items in the photos below before renting...

Room was clean, pet friendly, it had two chairs which was really, really nice and appreciative so one of us didn't have to sit on the bed and eat. Breakfast was nice it had a good selection and again appreciative of that. No bugs anywhere( as I have told people I am severely bug a phobic so I look) Room, breakfast area, and laundry really nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
