It had been a while since I've travelled outside Canada and this did not encourage me to do more.||||At check-in, the person did not explain any of the hotels amenities, breakfast hours, free wifi or password, though he did provide directions to the room.||||The room itself was okay, with two double beds. The recliner had seen better days, and the promised mini-fridge and microwave were present and seemed functional.||||There were really nice pictures of Niagara Falls on the wall.||||The bathroom was quite a mess, with a hole in the ceiling, dirt/grease in the fan and what looked like mold on the shower curtain. See the pictures attached.||||The walls seemed thin and we heard lots of noises from other rooms, which was kind of ok on a Saturday night.||||Around 11pm, the room phone rang, I picked up and said Hello only to hear silence. We knew no one else at the hotel so were not expecting any phone calls. The calls continued about every 20-25 minutes until about 1h30am, which did not help our sleep.||||The bed mattresses were so hard, I told my son I was going to Yabba Dabba Do when I got up, because the mattresses belonged in Bedrock.||||With that start, I did not hold out much hope for the free breakfast but it was not too bad. Cereal, various pastries, a waffle-maker, scrambled eggs, sausages and hard boiled eggs were on offer, along with juices and coffee. Sadly, there was no tea available and my son described the coffee was "bean water". Also the staff tending the breakfast looked to be in his pajamas.||||After eating, sans tea, I described the phone call situation to the person at the desk and he said he would look into it. I never had a follow up.||||With a long trip back home the next day, we checked out at 5h50. Same person in same pajamas acknowledged we had checked out. No offer of a bill to be emailed or printed and again no follow up about the harassing...

Pros Clean room, beddings and bath. Has TV,. Fridge, microwave. Bed was comfortable.
Cons Expensive. (225 CAD for a double room with 2 beds). The receptionist/caretaker has forgotten to smile(Punjabi I guess since he was wearing a Turban and had long beard) He must have gone through some really traumatic experience. My sincere sympathy to him and condolences to his long lost happiness. Unfortunately whatever trauma he went through also instigated him to make the customer feel wrong for his(receptionist's) mistakes. First time when the tap was turned on, the water was yellow. Had to let it run for a while till it cleared up.
Breakfast included the following. Boiled eggs(Chilled! Don't know if they were frozen after they were boiled. Not sure how old). Kellogg's, bran, cornflakes and milk. Tea, Coffee , ready juice(Apple/Orange) Waffle with table syrup. Bread slices/Bagels. Cheese/butter. Extra sweet muffins. Low fat yogurt(Peach...
Read moreCheck in person was somewhat rude and definitely not welcoming. There was garbage in the gardens near the entrances. Hallways were dirty and need updated.
Room was decently clean but the doors (both the room door and the bathroom door) had not been wiped in ages and had dirty finger prints all over them. We ended up purchasing bleach wipes to wipe everything down ourselves which made the room feel a lot better. The bed was clean and comfy but the pillows were not great. The room smelled musty and we determined it was because the carpet was very wet by the window.
Breakfast was bagels, cinnamon toast, cereals and waffles. Coffee, tea and juices were also available. They offered hard boiled eggs but they weren’t properly kept (just on the counter in a bowl) so definitely not appealing. Nothing was wiped down so the breakfast counter and tables were all dirty. Again, not very appealing.
Overall we made the best of it but would...
