Stayed here previously (my daughter attends U of R and we’ve frequently visited the past year) and had been pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was the complete opposite: we stayed in two different rooms over the course of three nights, both were in disrepair (see photos). The first room we were placed in was next to another occupant who kept his door open through out the night. I cannot imagine why someone staying at a motel in the middle of August, 90 degree temps during the day and oppressive humidity would choose to leave the door open like that unless illegal/illicit activity was occurring. Needless to say, my family felt unsafe and when my husband complained to the staff he was told there was nothing they could do. I guess someone renting a room has more authority on how that room is used than the owners of this Red Roof Inn. I had booked a different reservation for the remainder of our stay so, due to my error, we wound up in another room the next night (thankfully!). Again, this was due to a mistake I had made and not because the staff accommodated us in any way. That new room was in equal disrepair. When we left the room the next morning for breakfast, we could not get back into the room because the key card/door lock would not work. The key card triggered the green light, but the door could not be opened. We had to go to the front desk and notify them and shortly after their maintenance man jiggled the handle and put his full weight against the door to open it. He was not able to get the door to open reliably in repeated attempts and just shrugged his shoulders and told us to contact him again if we had a problem. No attempt was made to fix the door. I can only assume that the broken door was the reason why the room was not cleaned that day. Apparently it did not occur to the staff to contact the maintenance man so he could come by and jiggle the handle and push his full weight against the door to get it open so they could make the beds and provide fresh towels. As I said, I had made an error in my booking— I booked Wednesday thru Saturday when I should have booked Tuesday through Friday. While I was able to add the additional day(Tuesday), the staff person at the desk said I could not cancel the extra day (Saturday) I had booked. I chalked this up to an expensive mistake on my part and wasn’t too upset about it until I saw the condition of the rooms and the unusual behavior of the occupant in the ground floor room next to ours that first night, and the failure to fix the broken door, and failure to clean the room. We left the next morning and will not be staying at this location again. There are far too many affordable options in the area to patronize this location.

The first room they checked us in had a broken bathtub with a huge X shaped crack, that was so bad it bubbled out and you could push it back and forth. Also there was a creepy man that came from behind the counter while the clerk was checking us in, and after he heard our room number he went outside and sat on the bench. He then followed and watched me and my daughter walk to our room. It was very unsettling. After finding the tub broken, I went back to the front desk and asked for a new room. I also asked about the man who was watching us and he said he didn't work there, but that he was just there to do cleaning. I asked if that man had access (keys) to the rooms and the clerk said he did not. He checked us in to another room. That room did not have a broken tub, but several of the lights didn't work (I have video but Google won't let me upload them), almost all of the outlets did not have covers or the covers were broken, there was a hole in the wall, the tub faucet dripped non stop, the tub was dirty, the bathroom floor was wet and covered in dog hair, there was melted candle wax on the back of the toilet and the floor, the door lock was not secure and very loose. We were only staying there one night, and so I did not go back to the front desk again and express any frustrations. I just sucked it up. I would definitely not recommend this Red Roof Inn to anyone in the future.

No. Just no. Never coming here again. The website pictures do not represent the actual rooms and experience! The lobby smells like mothballs, that should've been our first clue. The check-in lady was kinda rude and not inviting at all. The room itself SMELLS so terrible we went out and bought candles to make it tolerable and had to open the door for fresh air because the window doesnt open... it smelled like stale smoke and old standing water (the plumbing gurgles if your neighbor uses water). The room looks rundown, the floors weren't vacuumed/swept, none of the surfaces were wiped down (everything felt dirty to the touch, the remote had food crusted on it, the fridge was gross inside and outside, the headboard had handprints all over, etc). It was so off-putting that we went out and bought disinfecting wipes to wipe everything down before we actually used the room. I refused to even think about using the coffee maker. This stay was $100 per night.. what a HUGE waste of money for a dirty smelly room with no amenities. Do better Red Roof Inn because this SUCKED big time.

I experienced multiple issues during my 5 day stay and gave the supervisor at the Red Roof Inn many chances to fix this but they ignored me. I called the front desk numerous times (screenshot attached) about these issues.

  1. The microwave was dirty, unsanitary, and unusable. I paid for a room with a microwave and was not able to use it. (see picture).

  2. The fridge stopped working shortly after checking in. When I checked in, the fridge was cool. On Tuesday morning, I opened the fridge and it was warm. I purchased perishable groceries for my 5 day stay and it all went bad. I called the front desk and no one cared or even offered to replace it. It is now Thursday evening and I still don’t have a replacement. I gave a number for the supervisor to call and they did not call. The next day I called and was told the supervisor was above the office yet still could not assist with this issue. Today I called and same thing. I paid for a room with a fridge and was not able to use it and also paid for groceries that went to waste because of the fridge.

  3. The room says 100% smoke-free, yet reeked of cigarette smoke. I asked for another room and that room smelled even worse. I suffer from asthma and the secondhand smoke was a bad trigger for me during my stay. My chest is extremely tight and hurts to breathe. Not even the air freshener could mask the smell. As a result, I will have to get a breathing treatment done to help clear my lungs.

  4. There was water leaking under the sink and caused me to slip (see picture)

  5. Walls had bodily fluids and stains on it (see picture)

  6. Bedding had hair and makeup in it (see picture)

  7. Towels were not clean (see picture)

  8. sink was dirty, had some kind of sludge on it

  9. the toilet paper was dirty. This is not the first few pieces of paper this was a stain that was all the way in the middle of the toilet paper. I’m guessing something leaked into it

Again I called at least three times during my stay and not once did this supervisor call back to rectify these issues. I had a horrible stay and an extremely disappointed. I am planning on checking out at 5AM tomorrow instead of 11 because I cannot take it here anymore. I know the red roof supervisor here didn’t care, but I hope someone else at red...

I booked the Red Roof inn due to it being about 15 minutes away from a show venue me and my Roomate were going to, and realistically, I do not think I will ever return. Upon showing up to the hotel, it appeared as if they had lost the elderly woman infront of us’s booking, which was admitted hard to watch because her and her husband were older and definitely didn’t need the extra stress. My check in was rather smooth however. When we got to our room however, we were met with a weird smell. Almost like boiled ramen? And there’s no air flow in the room to get the scene moved out. The windows just don’t even open. The blankets had stains. The ice bucket was greasy, touching it would leave streaks and we weren’t given ice bags. Our microwave had some weird error message with two USB ports exposed on the front face of the microwave, which I’ve never seen in a microwave. There was no arm chair seat, instead a computer chair that’s arm rests were barely attached. The bathroom was disgusting. The wall behind the toilet was completely crumbled, the floor damp. There was a weird smear on the side of the toilet, which I can only imagine was shit. The toilet paper came apart like ribbons, didn’t come off in sheets, tiny little scraps. The bathroom door by the way? No lock. Talking about locks, the little security lock you use so that if someone cards into your room the door still can’t open all the way? Broken off. Not there. Through out the night, a guy was smoking cigarettes literally right outside of our door, so the ramen smell would eventually get replaced with Menthol cigarettes and weed. But atleast they were smoking outside so I can’t really complain fully I guess. In the vending machine room, the side of the machine is tore open as if they’re working on it, but there’s no sort of safety sign or out of order sign. When we checked out, they seemed to be having another issue with someone on the phone in the way of booking. Overall, it just seemed to be one issue after another and i understand this is a more budget hotel and I shouldn’t expect a fantastic experience, but I feel like standard cleanliness isn’t an...
