Learn moreTHE THEATRICAL RELEASE... Peppermints has always been a go to restaurant for us. The food is always great and the staff are always friendly.
This place is great for meeting up with friends and family. What is better than sharing a meal, that you don't have to cook, with people you care about. Spending time over a great meal has been the cornerstone of humanity for eons. Peppermints allows you to do just that, connect with others over food.
THE DIRECTOR'S CUT... We usually go for breakfast and they do not fail to please, ever! I am picky when it comes to my eggs and hash browns, I prefer a wet scramble and crispy hash browns. So when I that way it is exactly what I get. I also have special requests when it comes to my omlets. I originally moved from Michigan in 2010 and every local restaurant served a Farmer's omelet, yes I am a red neck. This omelet, at least in my area, consisted of 3 eggs, bacon, ham, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, hash browns and sausage gravey. The hash browns would be put inside the omelet along with all the other ingredients and then sausage gravey would be poured over top. So I will order their Western omelet, the closet they have, with the crispy hash browns inside and a side of sausage gravey. It takes me home and I love it. I wish they would put a Farmer's omelet on the menu.
I can't get enough of their pancakes either, they are so light and fluffy I am afraid they may float off the plate sometimes. They don't skimp on size either, they are nice and big as well.
As to the lunch menu, I usually order their Turkey Club on sour dough bread. It is created with sliced turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, mayo and of course crispy delicious bacon. This is all piled high on three slices of sour dough bread that have been toasted to the perfect golden brown. They serve it with an order of crispy on the outside but so pillowy soft on the inside piping hot french fries that they pile inside of the four toothpick wedges. This is the only restaurant in the Rochester area I will order a Turkey Club.
While waiting to be seated or paying your bill you will see a case that is filled with some of the most wonderful looking deserts. Cheesecakes, pies, brownies, parfaits, puddings, cookies and more, they even have gluten free. I always say I am going to leave room but I never can because the food is so good. One day I will remember to get a takeout box and then allow myself to enjoy some of their sinful sweets.
Overall, the staff is great and the food is fantastic. Usually we are greeted by whom I am assuming is the owner with a "welcome firends follow me," it feels like I am home everytime I hear that. My drink is never empty and my table is always cleared. The staff will check back often to make sure things are alright. The kitchen staff is so accommodating, I am picky I know. I also know how much of a pain it is since I have worked in the industry for several years, so I am that that much more appreciative.
So, if you are looking for a casual restaurant to spend time with friends and family over a great meal then you have found it at Peppermints. Great food at a reasonable price with good size portions, there is something for you here. So stop by, sit, relax and treat yourself to a great meal and good conversation.

Read moreOctober 2022 - 4.6 Another worthwhile meal at this casual popular restaurant. There's no bad choice here on their long menu. Our party of three repeated the Texas French Toast with the real maple syrup upgrade, but two of us switched to lunch choices due to the hour.
I had the chicken salad on marble rye which came with a gratis bag of chips and a few pickles. My partner went out into new territory and tried their burger here in this northern part of N.Y., described as a "ground sirloin" option, "The Highway Man," which is topped with cheddar cheese, ham, fried onion rings plus BBQ sauce. A cholesterol dream...he loved it. I had the chicken salad on marble rye on the light side part of the menu - a favorite of mine. Very good. Check out their dinner options on their website which includes steak, chops and seafood.
We had a wonderful breakfast here. Everyone in the restaurant was having a good time. This place is really busy though it was Sunday, which is a prime day for going out for brunch. The coffee is delicious and we love they provide a little bowl of flavored creams to choose from on each table. Service is timely and friendly. All of our food was very tasty, large in serving size, fresh and hot: One strawberry pancakes with whipped cream, one blueberry pancakes both with turkey sausage and one Texas toast made like French toast but with beefier bread and a glass of orange juice. We did choose to spend the extra two dollars apiece for real maple syrup.
Their lunch and dinner menu has a wide variety of items to enjoy. For lunch, burgers, wraps, salads and sandwiches. For dinner, steak, seafood, pasta and Greek...
Read moreI ordered a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and a California wrap for pick up on my work lunch break. When I got back to work after picking up the food, I noticed my sandwich was not turkey but roast beef with brown gravy which I don’t even really like. I immediately called to let them know and the lady said she would make a new one and I could come back to pick it up. I let her know I cannot just leave work again to go back out and pick up a new one because my lunch break is only 30 minutes so I asked if someone could deliver a hot turkey sandwich to me at my job. she said “oh no we can’t do that, I’m the only one here”…. (Which btw, she was definitely NOT the only one there because I had just left there 15 minutes prior and saw that she was not the only one there working) She then asked me what I would like her to do so I just asked for a refund for the sandwich instead. To which she said she can’t do that unless I bring the incorrect sandwich back to them. So I explained again that I can’t leave my job for a second time as my break is only 30 minutes as I had already previously stated when she suggested I come get a new one. She said sorry and didn’t know what else she could do for me. I said great, thanks for the help! And hung up. I tried to eat the roast beef sandwich and couldn’t because it was disgusting and not even hot. So it went in the trash and now I’m out $14 (I even left them a tip), I’m still hungry and unable to get food until I leave work for the day.
Rest assured, I will never be back to this...
