Northport π¨β¦Exceptional as Always.
There is a reason that the restaurant at the Northport Hotel π¨ is regarded as one of the finest restaurants on Long Island and one of my all time favorites.
Itβs the attention to every detail. From the decor and ambiance to the crafted cocktails, and the amazingly tasty recipes with everything they serve, the Northport Hotel π¨ exemplifies quality fine dining. I have been several times and it never disappoints! The flavors come alive beyond expectations with every dish.
We started with some appetizers. The braised octopus π which was lightly grilled with a slight Smokey flavor on a bed of Chickpeas, Olives π«,Red Pepper πΆοΈ Hummus, Sweet peppers, tomatoes π , and fresh πΏ. It was full of unique flavor.
The beet π« salad π₯ was amazing. Red and yellow varieties set on a Bibb Lettuce π₯¬ bed, Goat π Cheese π« , Pistachios π₯ , with an Orange π Citrus Vinaigrette. It was earthy and delicious.
The cauliflower salad was light and crisp plated with FrisΓ©e & Arugula greens π₯¬, a Honey π― -Dijon Dressing, Yogurt π¦ Puree, Golden Raisins π , Pine-nuts and EVO π«. It was refreshing with a tangy bright flavor.
Our entrees were wonderfully prepared.
The seafood stew was brilliant. Jumbo Shrimp π€, Clams π¦ͺ , Mussels , Calamari π¦, Lobster π¦, in a mellow Saffron Ginger π« -Butter π§ and Charred crusty Bread π₯. All the seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. We used the bread π₯ to sop up the sauce. Yum π.
My wife had the pan roasted halibut π presented with Wild Mushrooms πβπ«, Leeks, Shallots π§ , Shrimp π¦, Fingerling Potatoes π₯ with the most velvety smooth Lobster π¦ sauce Glaze. It was a stand out.
The salmon π£ was perfect. Moist and flaky. Prepared in a tropical π΄ theme with Coconut π₯₯, Cilantro πΏ Rice π, Asparagus, and a Mango π₯ Salsa π Passionfruit Puree. Fresh and sweet.
I had the soft shell crab π¦ special. SautΓ©ed with artichokes, and topped with cherry π tomatoes π with a light lemon π butter π§ sauce. It was just incredible.
No surprise that our meal and service was fantastic.
Have you gone yet? Why not? Trust me itβs worth every penny for a special evening out with special...
Β Β Β Read moreWe went to the hotel for drinks when they first opened. The dining room was not opened yet but we couldn't wait to come back. We met Joe who was at the front desk. He was wonderful, he gave us a tour of the lobby and we truly enjoyed talking to him. He left us with such a good impression.
Three of us returned for dinner on Saturday, December 9th. We were celebrating my birthday all weekend. I have to say this place is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and the BEST in the neighborhood by far. From the delicious food to the service and the ambiance. When we walked in it was very crowded at the bar and I thought it would be loud during dinner but I was totally wrong. No clanging of the dishes and the sound tiles make such a difference. We had a table next to the bar area and were amazed at how quiet it was. We were able to have wonderful conversation without competing over loud voices or music.
As far as the food, I was a little hesitant ordering a steak since it's not a steak house. My 10 oz filet mignon was so delicious. My mother had the short ribs that melted in her mouth and my husband had the blackened swordfish fish which was so moist and delicious. Our waitress Erin is a true professional. So sweet, attentive and absolutely the best waitress we have had in a very long time. She is definitely management material! We enjoy fine dining and at least here you get an experienced waitress that matches the caliber of the restaurant. There were also several managers walking around ensuring customers were happy, they were so pleasant and truly care. We loved it so much that we came back the next night again for dinner. Again...SPECTACULAR! If you're looking for an amazing experience with great food, service, value, etc. this is your place.
We are so fortunate to live in the neighborhood and this is a place we will dine in often. My only concern is, it's that spectacular we will probably have to book way far in advance. If it's such a hit during the winter, I can't imagine the summer but honestly they deserve the business.
Thank you for bringing such a wonderful hotel and restaurant to our...
Β Β Β Read moreChecked into the hotel with my service pup. Everyone from the valet, front desk staff, restaurant staff & chefs, and housekeeping were phenomenal. Just so kind and caring. As a courtesy, a day before my check-in, I advised the front desk agent who called to confirm my reservation that I would be checking in with my service animal (which is not required). Unfortunately as I was smoothly checking into the hotel, once the front desk manager noticed me checking in, she brusquely made a b-line over to me, interrupted my check-in and decided to interrogate me about my service pup with the following: So, you have a pet So, you actually have papers for him stating heβs service? So, heβs not emotional support? Some people say their pets are service and theyβre really emotional support. You cannot leave him in the room unaccompanied at any time (repeated 3xβs). Peopleβs pets, βclaimedβ to be service animals have done a lot of damage to our rooms.
I kindly advised this woman that her questions and statements were not acceptable according to the ADA. She then doubled down and became even more insulting. She was visibly angry that I was checking into the hotel and could care less about how she made the hotel experience for us. If I hadnβt pre-paid the $400 nightly rate, I wouldβve just went elsewhere. I left a message for the general manager to make a formal complaint, but since my call was not returned, I decided to...
