I really wanted to like this place! Its dog friendly which is awesome and hard to find sometimes! The service started out strong and then took a nose dive. The hostess was very friendly, our server took about 10 or 15 minutes to come over but we saw it was busy and it was a nice day so we weren't bothered. We ordered a round of drinks and food. When our food came out no one checked on us and our drinks were empty and we wanted another round but our server was M.I.A. so we never got to order another round. When she came out on the patio she was flustered and explaining to the table behind us that the kitchen lost their food ticket and that's why it's taking so long. I heard them complain how frustrated they were too because an hour had passed and their food still hadn't come out. We finally flagged down our waitress and asked for our check. She brought it and then disappeared for another 15 minutes. At this point we had been trying to just pay and get out of here for 30-40 minutes. I finally got up and asked the hostess if she could run our card. I saw our waitress inside and she was taking an order at an 8 top at an inside table so I'm not sure if someone called out and that's why she had these tables all over the place or if they are always this short staffed. Overall frustrating experience but they have a nice patio if you have a lot of time and your wish...

I flew into New York because I had been notified that my father was sick and in the hospital. After spending numerous days straight, 12 hours at a time in a crappy VA hospital, getting relieved of duty by my sister around 6 PM on day was a blessing for my wife and I. They instructed us to go treat ourselves to a nice dinner and to turn in early. Which is exactly what we did. We headed out to Northport to walk on the pier and get a dinner. My wife was lured in by the lobster and muscle combination offer, which she ordered, and devoured all of. It was a proud moment for me seeing my wife finish off an entire lobster with her hands while splattering all the neighboring tables with lobster remnants and melted butter. I tried some and it was pretty good. I got the lobster gnocchi, which was extremely filling and pretty delectable. I believe that we also got an appetizer of fried calamari as well. Being from New York, but no longer living there currently, coming back and eating this was a little of homesickness served up on a plate. Eating outside, under the warm New York sun, smelling the water, and listening to the live music being played at the end of the street...I can't say it was the best food I've ever had, but it hit me in the heart, and in the stomach perfectly, and was exactly the experience we needed at...

Very disappointed. Arrived at 630 on a Sat night, understandably there was quite a long wait for an outside seat so we decided to sit at the bar and wait. The hostess assured us she would look for us there when our table was ready. The wine list was very limited which was the first disappointment. After waiting an hour, and seeing quite a few parties of 2 come in after us and get seated we went to check on our table and the hostess said "Oh, I forgot about you guys! Give me 5 min" Got our seat outside and then waited about 15 min to be greeted by a very unenthusiastic waitress. Not to mention that they squeezed an extra seat on the side on a 4 top table next to us and a lady was running her fingers through her hair onto our table. Gross. Ordered apps which were brought out in a timely fashion and tasted good. Our waitress never came back to take our entree order we had to look inside for her. Ordered lobster and mussels which took about 45 min to come out. Very disappointing service and meal. We...

My 1st time to Feed and Grain on Main Street in Northport such as the amazing appetizers including the baked clams are an 9.1/10 😎, the chicken wings are an 9.3/10 😃, the fried mozzarella sticks are outstanding - I give it 9.5/10 🤩. The side orders which includes 1/2 french fries are very crunchy - 8.9/10. The F&G burger was great 😊- 8.7/10. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon & Tomato was cheesy 😉 and so salty 😝 couldn’t finish the whole sandwich - 10.9/10. Last but not least the seafood bisque was fire 🔥 - 10.4/10. The server is very friendly with a positive attitude who takes their time with their order one by one. The owner is amazing and kind with a great attitude. Thank you John & Maggie. I’d give Feed & Grain 10.1 out of 10 Bada bings and Bada booms. I’d definitely comeback anytime with Jane and Joe. 👌🏼 Happy Mother’s Day Feed & Grain!

I went with my Aunt Last night to break our fast (its Ramadan). I was so happy we picked the right place. I can’t tell you enough about their service and friendliness. They made sure the food came out on time. They go back and forth at your table to ask if you need anything and how things are going… etc. I ordered a salad nuttiness with walnuts, cranberries, greens, goat cheese.. delicious. Onion soup was good and very hot as i like it. Got the main whole lobster and aunt ordered surf and turf. The plate was huge. Can’t go wrong with the price. Everything was delicious and just as we wanted it. Thank u for an amazing night. And thank you to the servers and great customer service. Will definitely be back. I have nothing bad to say about this place.

A solid eatery with a terrific and friendly wait staff. We ordered a variety of dishes from baked clams, pasta with clam sauce, a bar burger, and fish and chips...all were satisfied. The restaurant is located in a beautiful village which is worth a trip to. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Feed and Grain.
