This Hampton Inn saved my trip! My mom had a trip planned to visit my sister for her graduation, and she wanted me to come, so I booked my flight to join her. She had an Airbnb booked, as well and I planned to just tag along. When we arrived to our Airbnb, it was in a terrible area and just unsafe, on top of us not being able to get into the door. I was panicking inside and instantly regretting my decision to come along. I had my hubster, who was still in Florida, find a safe hotel for us to stay in.
Kayla was a big help (both Kayla's and the other women working that night!) She was able to help get me and my mom booked for the first three nights we needed, using my hubster's Hilton honors account (at one rate for those three nights). But she was unable to book us for our last night that we needed. She told me to come down in the morning to try to add the final night.
The room was very clean. The shower pressure was AMAZING! Our room was quiet.
When I went down to add our final night, I was told that night would be a higher rate, which I expected because it was memorial weekend. When checking out, I was told two nights were higher (and not just the one night i was told before), so for some reason, the rate kayla had locked in for me for the first 3 nights wasn't the case anymore, I didn't worry too much about it because at that point, anything that could have gone wrong on our trip, had. I'm just glad we were able to stay somewhere safe.
One thing that wasn't verbally disclosed, if you utilize the parking garage, you will be charged for that. It is a walk to the garage and it is very difficult to park at the doors to bring in suitcases and bags, so walking with them from the garage is most likely what you will end up doing. You have to make sure you get your parking ticket validated everytime you leave the hotel to drive anywhere, otherwise, you'll be paying even more or walking back to the hotel to get it validated.
This hotel is within walking distance to a few eatery places, so that was nice too! And convenient location next to a whole foods if you need any groceries.
I can't rate the breakfast, because we never made it down for that. We also didn't go check out the pool. We also never turned on the tv, so im not sure how well that worked. The elevator was nice and smooth, and fast.
I would...
Read moreWe love Hampton Inns and this had much of what we like, with some unfortunate differences. It was clean and staff was friendly. We had two rooms— 2 queens and a king. The 2 queen room was very tight, both beds close to the walls. Parking is the dealbreaker. There is nowhere to pull in and unload when you arrive, you have to either double park or park in a garage, then walk your things in. All along the front of the hotel is for valet parking only, there are no handicap parking spots, is this legal? A friend who is blind stayed too and she her husband and leader dog walked from the garage. My parents in wheel chairs had to be let out as we blocked traffic on the road, with cars honking. On top of that, parking in the garage is $20/day. Are we in New York or Chicago? Like many hotels housekeeping is now every other day, but we weren’t aware there was an option to request daily. Seems like a carry over from Covid, maybe staffing tight, but that means your expenses are less, but it’s not reflected in what the customer is paying. You pay the same or more for fewer services. Airbnb and VRBO have hurt the hotel industry. One of the pluses of staying in a hotel was having trash emptied, TP replenished and beds made. Add this to a tight space and major parking issues, and Airbnb is much more appealing. My sister said, but with VRBO/Airbnb, there are so many hidden fees, you should see the receipt from the Hampton Inn, a very long list of hidden fees that brought the price up considerably. At least when scheduling an Airbnb you see the total price when booking, not after you’ve...
Read moreWe visited our daughter's college for Accepted Students Day and this hotel was about 15 minutes away. The hotel was very nice, new and looks really good. The bedroom was well equipped and the bathroom was nice as well. The nights we stayed were a bit noisy but that was due to a cheerleading competition taking place nearby and the girls were all staying at that hotel. But I asked for a room on a higher floor and it was given with no problem and that was perfect. I liked that they kept most of the cheerleaders on a few reserved floors so that others could get a peaceful rest. ||My biggest problem with this hotel and the reason I could not give it five stars is because the breakfast was severely lacking. Yes it had everything, a make your own waffle station, meat, eggs, potatoes however it took the servers FOREVER to restock it. I mean FOREVER. I had to hunt down several people to tell them about empty dishes and after about 15 minutes they would come out with a new one. 15 minutes...during the breakfast rush is not acceptable. Food should be made and warming and waiting to go out. The other issue is that they water down all of their juices. The apple juice was water that was apple flavored as well as the orange juice. It was a shame.||I would come back but I would definitely decide to eat breakfast somewhere else because the chaos that goes on there during breakfast is not worth it. Also parking is fine, its Baltimore so it's to be expected that you will have to walk to a parking garage. It only took about...
