I sat upstairs on the patio on a beautiful day. The space was great and that was all. I sat a short eternity before I could even get a drink of water. The place wasn't very busy but the waiter/bartender seemed like he was very out of sorts. People had to keep leaving their tables to ask for things such as the check or a drink. My order wasn't correct but I ate it anyway. The avocado Benedict looked good but the poached egg was more like a boiled egg, too cooked. I suspect my bloody mary was a virgin mary. When I went to pay, I was taken back a decade or two when there was smoking in restaurants. A young man lit up a Camel at the bar and I was forced to share he second hand smoke as I waited for my change. I was really looking forward to a nice weekend brunch at CVP, but after the bad service, bad food, and bad air, I will never go back.

Haven't been to CVP for years. It's been an institution for underage drinking and college kids in Towson for as long as I can remember. So it was interesting to come back in my middle years to see what's keeping the place going. We ventured upstairs and had a seat at the outside bar. The place is extremely spacious, though it wasn't that crowded for a weekend. We had drinks and nachos, and both were very good. The onion soup on the other hand was extremely salty, so I would pass on that next time. The bartender was friendly, conversational, and checked on our table often. With the ever-increasing competition in Towson as it grows and grows into a small metropolitan area, CVP should remain on the radar as a solid choice in one's dining options.

CVP is one of my favorite bars in the DMV area. My first time visiting was when a friend of mine booked a private party here. Since then, I became a frequent customer. The food was tasty, the atmosphere was lively and, the drinks were delicious. Great drink deals and, no matter what time of day you're going, it's guaranteed to be good time. I mostly visit during the evening so I can hear the amazing DJ Angel play back to back bangers. Without fail CVP delivers when it comes to having a great time. I consistently receive top tier service from the bartender Bryan/DJ Angel.

The customer service is consistently terrible. If it was bad before the pandemic, it’s miserable now. This is a restaurant that is constantly filled with college students so it can get away with a sub-par menu. We recently made the mistake of ordering from them, anyway, because they were one few places open late. They sent us only one of the four items we ordered, which was a Mediterranean app with veggies and spicy feta. It looked like it had been in the walk-in for a week. Furthermore, they refunded the soups without calling to let us know and ask if we wanted something different (they said they were out of them when we called) and did not bring the actual (expensive) meal we ordered at all—nor did they refund it.

When we called them, they were EXTREMELY rude. I worked in the service industry through my undergrad and grad degrees and I don’t think I have ever even sent food back. But, this was the worst customer service I have ever received. The young woman on the phone was flippant and rude. We asked why they didn’t call to let us know they were out of the soup so we could order something else (especially because one of the meals was an app and bowl of soup), and she blamed it on grub hub, explaining that they don’t get our phone number and it’s grub hug’s job to call us. I know that’s not true because I order through grub hub regularly and other restaurants call all the time when they are out of items we order . That is common, decent customer service. I told her that, nicely people, I swear...But she hung up. Grub hub could not have been friendlier, actually they paid for our entire refund. So, I guess it’s my own fault for ordering from a place I have known since I was an undergrad in 2001-2005...their sense of hospitality is down right horrible and their food isn’t...

DON'T GO HERE. This place is notorious for not letting people in because they are black. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, if you have a little bit of melanin in your skin, don't even think about being able to get through security. I went there today (5/19/16) after taking a break from CVP due to the nonsense they pulled on Tigerfest weekend, I was eager to give it another try but once again I was reminded that my skin color is a "threat" to everyone. I have spent money in this establishment numerous times, and even invited numerous people to the establishment to spend their money and have a good time. Upon arrival, I was asked to provide two IDs (one college ID and drivers license) which I respectfully provided. The man who was working security checked my IDs and began to move closer to me with his hands up as if he was going to hit me to the point where I felt uncomfortable and threatened. I nicely and respectfully asked him please not to touch me and he denied me access into the bar. I plan on writing an article about this experience and distributing it everywhere possible. I will NEVER recommend this spot to anyone anymore. People come to this establishment to spend money and create memories, not to feel threatened after providing everything that is asked for to gain entrance. A lot of people have been having issues with CVP for months now, it's time for the owner or management to change something because they will surely lose business if this treatment continues to...

If you had asked me a year ago, I would have given a much higher review. We go there most Sundays for trivia and have seen the restaurant steadily go down hill over the last year. There has been a revolving door of servers, including one who had a physical altercation with her boyfriend in the middle of the dining room. The prices on the menu and the prices on the bill don't always match, so you really have to keep a menu to compare. They don't have all menu items, which is not unexpected because of supply chain issues now, but none of the servers know what they have and what they don't have. They don't communicate well with the trivia league when there are changes to the schedule. Tonight, when the cancelled the trivia game without letting anyone know, the new manager (I think) told me that we should have made a schedule to know when there was football that would impact it. I immediately responded that the CVP should do that and work it out with the league so that people aren't inconvenienced. She also insisted upon being up close to talk until I finally told her to back up 6 feet since neither of us had on a mask at that point. I'm not really sure what is happening there and we've really tried to be patient and understanding given the pandemic, staffing and supply issues, but this disregard of regular customers who come in every Sunday, spend a lot of money and tip really well is incredibly frustrating when added to the overall issues we've...
