I visited here recently & walked in the door intending to sign up but, through a variety of sad, serious, semi-serious, entirely laughable and / or completely preventable series of mistakes, missteps, mismanagement &, most especially, the "attitude" & behavior of some of the (so-called) "adults" working here they very neatly managed to convince me to not only not sign up but to also write this completely accurate review. I walked through the door, ready to sign up & what was the first thing I saw? A young (so-called) "man" who not only had his feet up on the furniture like he was chilling in his own personal living room but was also talking (quite loudly, volubly & rather expressively) on what appeared to be his personal cell phone &, except in the case of an emergency, that's generally considered to be somewhat unacceptable in what is, at least ostensibly, supposed to be a "professional" environment. He did absolutely nothing to greet me, make me feel welcome or start to solicit or encourage the business of someone who, as far as he knew, might be either an influencer or somewhat well to do (or even wealthy) & that was Strike One. No apparent perception of the fact that, because this place is both a customer soliciting entity & his (so-called ) JOB, he's there to try to get EVERY single individual who may walk through that door to try to JOIN this gym & he absolutely FAILED to do that. Obviously, yelling & screaming at whoever he was talking to took priority (something about a chicken dinner, unless I misunderstood him) & we were off to a rather LOUSY start. After some rather deft maneuvering I finally managed to get his attention & indicated why I was there (wanted to look at the amenities & equipment with the intention of hoping to be able to join) & this was then met by him then quickly waving me off to a gaggle of somewhat disorganized young individuals seated at desks to his right. Other than one of them talking on THEIR cell phone & the young lady who was actually publicly EATING at her desk (with a sandwich & a soft drink, nonetheless) none of them seemed to be doing very much of anything (& certainly not much of any probable value to this business) but after a bit of jockeying one of the young men finally stood up & volunteered to show me around & that was the ONLY part of this experience that was tolerably "professional." So, he showed me around & answered a few questions to the best of his ability while, simultaneously, indicating that he'd only been there a few days &, hence, "didn't know much" (which I took as de facto proof of not having had much training, exposure or experience when it comes to the various methods generally used by organizations like this to first encourage & then cement a business relationship with the customers whose favor they're trying to gain) & this was, unfortunately, somewhat laughable. Completely UNprofessional so far & a far cry from what those of us who are old enough to remember how both the Gold's Gym & the Holiday Spa / Bally's chain used to function, back in the day i.e. get the customer in the door, make them feel welcome & then actively AND professionally do what YOU can to get them to sign up &, yes, these KIDS (& I use that word deliberately) not only absolutely failed to do so but, along the way, managed to convince someone who came in the door WILLING to join to then NOT do so & that utter ineptness not only cost them a paying customer but also generated this unfavorable review. Anyhow, that guy showed me around &, despite everything, I was STILL willing to join but, unfortunately, I was then handed off (after more jockeying amongst themselves while they decided who should "handle" me) to the somewhat improbably named "Ace" who, after a very brief (& not particularly enlightening) "explanation" of membership costs, then made it rather obvious that he thought that I should just automatically & unquestioningly sign up (but was obviously VERY MAD when I didn't). This location is a JOKE & will NEVER get my business & that because of the reasons I've...
Read moreI got my first LA Fitness membership and went to this gym one time and I'm ready to cancel my membership and demand a refund.
First, the amenities you pay for are basically useless. The sauna is packed to the brim (and from other reviews isn't working half the time) so can't use that. All the classes (all 3 of them they offer a various times throughout the week) are completely full from now until the end of the calendar. It must be some kind of race to reserve a spot. I'm paying all this money for a CLEAN gym in which I can use the amenities at.
Second, the facility was VERY old looking and not kept up well. The floors and machines were not in good condition and dirty. Albeit, the lockers in the Women's locker room were new the rest of the locker room was dirty. I didn't feel comfortable using the toilets or the showers.
Third, the location just attracts a lot of things that are not great to workout in. Mostly, the place is filled with college students, it's basically the hang out. So now you have people just hanging out, staring at you while you're working out. Additionally, girls were just hanging out in the locker room, running around, joking, yelling. Who wants to get undressed and take a shower with people just sitting around making awkward eye contact.
Unfortunately, this entire area is a desert on decent gyms, or really any gyms at all. Which is why they are able to keep such terrible facilities and still maintain a high membership count. Because what other options are there. But at this point I could just invest in a home gym I could actually use instead of paying all this money to barely use a...
Read moreThis place is terrible. My daughter just got her membership 6 days ago and she is very disappointed. First of all, after you pass the gym area, there is a very powerful urine smell all over the places- toilets, sauna, hallways, swimming pool area and the area where you change your clothing. I don't know who is in charge in Baltimore County with public health and who should inspect places like this, but something must be wrong here. The customers of this place are in danger of getting sick because the place is wretched. The floor from the sauna has only cement and their excuses are that the owner's wife didn't like what was on the floor and after removing what was there previously, they didn't decide what to put back. My daughter was there to cancel the membership, but the manager was very unprofessional. First, she said that the cancellation must be done between 3 and 6 days; when my daughter said that she got her membership 6 days ago, the manager changed her mind and said that only after 3 days you can cancel the membership. My daughter and I wanted a place with sauna and swimming pool, but how can you trust to swim in their pool? I don't want to get a bacteria, or fungus...I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!!! My daughter's friend came last night and she said that she threw up after her last visit because of the strong urine smell that is all over. However, she was there only two times with my daughter and she is going to cancel her...
