We've been regular guests since 2012 at least four times a year. We were somewhat accustomed to being punished with The Studio room if we wanted to bring our dog as it is the only room dogs are permitted in, but the bed was never this bad and the bathroom didn't have a nauseating mildew smell, now it's intolerable. The mattress is so bad that every worn out pocketed coil can be felt as a lump everywhere you try to get comfortable but can't, the pillows were shot also. When I informed the manager of the worn out condition of the matress she immediately argued that the mattress was fine and it was the Murphy Bed frame that was the culprit and insisted the mattress was not a problem, my aching back would disagree with her completely, and if they know the bed frame is a problem, why is it still there! Everyone knows a poor foundation will ware out a mattress quickly and a Murphy bed doesn't really have a foundation, they should put a real bed in the room or be prepared to replace the mattress more often! My patience worn thin from back pain I didn't like being told the worn out mattress was fine and I got mad, "the customer is always right" must not be the rule of thumb here. She did say I should have mentioned the bed after the first night and she would have moved me to a different room. I reminded her that we had a dog and website states that The Studio room was the only dog friendly room NO EXCEPTIONS DON'T ASK. She countered with, I would have made an exception if you were't happy with the room, with what the website stated I didn't even consider asking, and it adds insult to injury to be told we could have after it was too late! So for you all you out there with dogs, all you have to do is book The Studio and complain about the condition of the room and they will make an exception... This used to be a peaceful place other than the late night semi-truck deliveries to the auto parts store right next door. Now there is a new club, The Brewery, at the back of the parking lot directly across the street treating you to loud thumping music till the bar closes at 2:00 AM, the manager said "well, we have no control over that, we're still booked up" The bar just opened and she isn't even there at night to even know how bad it is... This place is way over priced...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed in the Superman themed room for a couple of nights and are definitely interested in returning to visit some of the other rooms. The king beg was so comfortable with plenty of pillows, the bathroom had just enough room for our toiletries, and the living room area was spacious and cute. In the Superman room the kitchenette sink is really unique but it's rectangular shape does make it hard to wash dishes and keep the water from splashing everywhere. They do have two plates, two bowls, two sets of silverware, a couple a knives, a corkscrew/bottle opener, and a couple of mugs and cups stocked in the kitchen. They also supplied shampoo, body wash, and conditioner (Trader Joe's brand) in both the full bathroom and the hot springs bathroom. The hot springs bathroom consisted of a huge tub (enough room for both me and my husband to stretch out) and a chair to lounge in if you became too hot. They also had a shower head that would dispense regular city water for you to rinse off after you hot springs bath. Staying here was really relaxing and enjoyable. I'd encourage you to bring bottled water or jugs of water as the water from the tap doesn't taste great. Also, if you have the opportunity definitely book the Wet Room! The Wet Room has a large soaking tub that is filled/maintained by a sound soothing waterfall, a steam room which has two levels of wooden benches to rest on while hot spring water flows from ceiling to floor, a lounging room with plenty of seating, and a shower area to rinse off. It is completely private a deeply relaxing. My husband and I booked 2 hours and at first thought that it might be too long to spend there but then realized the first 45min went by so quickly that we were glad to have some extra time. At the time we went they offered 1hr soaking for free if it was your birthday or anniversary and if you're lodging at Blackstone they offer a discounted rate on booking soaking hours (please verify this on their website in case promotions have changed).
Overall I would highly recommend Blackstone Hotsprings whether you are looking for a place or get away or are just passing though and in need of some R&R for an hour or two before you get back...
Read moreRob & Ralph, !I have to update my review! When we visit again and yes we will be back it will be our fourth time. How about some customer appreciation with a reward point system or discount for returning guests? We've always stayed for the 2 night maximum allowed; which is a silly rule not allowing your guests to stay 2 nights in a row from Sunday through Thursday. This is my first time staying in the cheaper rooms. We stayed in the Roy Rogers suite and we were disappointed. The mattress was horrible; I have not laid on a spring mattress since the late 80s early 90s. The T.V. could be mounted on the wall or on a taller dresser or structure; our necks were a little sore. Your 2 wicker basket chairs for the dining table are too old and vintage and can't support or accommodate heavier guests. The love seat and two matching chairs were comfortable but too low for taller guests who struggle to get up from low profile furniture. Also a little courtesy call or texts warning us not to soak while your staff is filling up the public pools leaving your guests in 5 inches of water for 15 -20 minutes. The tub was great although some more handrails along the wall in order to stand up after your soak and some inflatable pillows with suction cups would be nice. The body wash was a great addition to the already awesome shampoo and conditioner. Thumbs up on the toilet paper as well. The coffee was awesome; it's a dark roast right?
Ivan Delgado Show quoted text This is my 2nd time here; 1st time was pre-COVID and well now post-COVID. This is a clean, quiet, hotel/motel. They have theme rooms; Jetsons, Superman, Golden Girls etc. The hot spring water is available in your own room bathtub if you choose that specific room. Very relaxing to soak in hot spring water if you haven't tried it. They have a private pool that you can book at an hourly rate; a definite must try. They have an outdoor pool as well. When you check in the keys are waiting for you in your unlocked room that you booked to avoid a lobby wait time. You pay over the phone and email pics of your ID's, credit card, their only payment method available and you COVID vaccination card. It is truly worth it. Stay more...
