I have been coming to these hot springs for years, Ive even gifted my parents numerous gift cards to these springs. But today I had a very bad experience with the staff specifically Keegan. She was very rude and argumentative, in fact just in our brief time there I witnessed her argue with another guests. I love the springs themselves, and I rarely do the private soaking pool. My partner and I reserved Cielo (103-106 degrees), for two reasons 1) it was one of the warmer private pools and 2) per the website - 5 year olds can temporarily join as long as they are quite. When we arrived we were charged an extra $15 for having our son with us, which we weren’t happy with being he would not be using any of the properties amenities but we still paid without hesitation. We entered our private pool and right away I noticed the pool was not hot and the temperature displayed 98 degrees. I messaged the number posted in the spring and didn’t hear back for 20 minutes ( keep in mind the session is 50 minutes). I had to exit my pool in the winter cold, and when I approached the front desk Keegan was just scrolling on the cell phone and then proceeded to check the chat. Very inconsiderate. Long story short I was told the pool’s thermostat isn’t accurate, and I requested them to take the temperature to see if it was the advertised (103-106) and I was told she didn’t have access to a manual thermostat. Keep in mind, I’m having this conversation cold in my towel at the front desk because the staff wasn’t checking the chat they advertise you to use. I was later told the pool’s most recent thermostat reading was 106.2 degrees, I asked when they took that reading and it was a WEEK earlier. My take aways.
Will I be back? Yes, I enjoy this place but I’ll never use the private pools again. If you’re paying $65 for a 50 minute soak the water should be as the temperature advertised and that means having a working ACCURATE thermometer that guests can see in real time. Front desk staff should be attentive to guests, and make them feel welcomed/valued. I’ve encountered wonderful front desk staff here. I noticed a few negative reviews talking about the staff, I can’t help but wonder if it’s all about the same person. I’m sad to be one of those today.
UPDATE This was originally a 1 star review from a disappointing staff experience. As I mentioned before I love these springs and have been coming here for years. After this past experience I got in contact with management and they went above and beyond making sure my voice was heard. They offered me a gift certificate for a future public soak, which was perfect compensation for the experience. Karla was very attentive and understanding. I look forward to many more visits in the future, and thank you again for...
Read moreI had booked an hour online for a private room to enjoy with a couple friends. We came on Sunday which was an extremely windy day. The attendants who led us to the Cielo room apologized profusely saying the previously clients had trashed the pool and they could offer us another option. It looked fine to us so we proceeded to get in rather than change rooms.
Not a few minutes later there was what sounded like a recording over the intercom. Between the wind whipping the curtains and the bubbling of the water we couldnt hear what it said. It came on again a few minutes later and we just caught that it was a recording about keeping our volume low.
Again, the wind was so strong that it was whipping the metal hooks of the curtains arouns on top of the sound of the water and it was hard to hear each other. We were completely sober, trying to relax in the atmosphere with each other when a pounding sounded on the door. This was all in the span of 15 minutes, another staff member accusing us and threatening to throw us out this being a third warning.
For the level of noise that was already present that day, and given our respectful demeanors, this felt like it came out of left field. Even though it was noisy outside already, we never yelled but did have to speak above a whisper to hear each other. I felt completely surveilled in a way that did not correspond to what was actually happening. I get that people probably come here to party but why is this how you treat everyone? This place is too expensive to be treated like this given the circumstances. I would not recommend this place...
Read moreThis place might be the most beautiful place I've ever been to, and one of my favourite life experiences. It was a great meditational time despite the loud party scene people, until about 10 minutes before closing. I used the cold water bucket and jumped into the sauna to dry off and end on one last warm meditation, but it never got hot. I spent the whole last 10 minutes of my paid for time trying to get the sauna to work, and wondering why it wasn't. I finally saw an employee and told them about it. They proceeded to tell me it was one minute after closing time. 1 minute. I was in there for 10. I made my way to the draining pools with one last hope to warm up with a good experience, disappointed. How you end things really matters, especially for things like this. I went home freezing and sad. I had moved a few years back from a place with hot springs to a place with none. This was my vacation, and my only chance to experience my once usual meditation time for the first time in years. It took me hours to warm up afterwards. This place was so magical, and so beautiful. The perfect place to treat yourself and unwind. I will come back everytime I pass through, and stay for much longer as long as they can promise me not to turn anything off or close anything down even a minute early. Every moment counts in a place like that, and strategy can be used with time to improve our experiences as long as we can count on being able to use it. Im thankful for this place existing, they put a lot of intention into the set and setting of the area. it is good...
