We took the gamble on this budget hotel and are very happy. Personally we don’t care about what was cut. For reference we usually stay at a Holiday Inn Express. So the list of what was cut that we noticed. No drawers, closet, safe, folding luggage stand, microwave (but there’s one in the lobby), coffee maker (again coffee/hot tea available in the lobby), tub (shower only), bar soap, box springs and carpet in the room. Oh and daily housekeeping, you need to request it. You get the typical housekeeping for an occupied room if you request it (beds made, trash emptied, towels and washcloths exchanged). Every 4th or 5th day is a full room cleaning.
Stuff I expected to be cut but wasn’t the refrigerator, hair dryer, basic Wi-Fi (if you sign up for free to be a member), iron/ironing board, alarm clock, hot breakfast, and fitness center. FYI the basic Wi-Fi wasn’t enough for a Facebook video call.
Things that were just impressive the cleanliness (it’s designed to be easy to clean), unique lobby design, and amount of USB/outlets (the most I’ve ever seen in hotel). Very happy with the selection/quality of the snacks.
Stuff that might make a difference to your decision that I haven’t addressed. The bed is firm. There’s 3 pillows per bed (not sure if that’s standard). The hanging space is a nice pipe with 18” of hanging space above the coffee table (over the refrigerator) so not something for a full length dress, but might work for a knee length dress. There are 6 wall hangers, 3 at full length and 3 at half length that could work for full length dresses, but wouldn’t be my choice for delicate dresses. The soap dispensers are different, you squeeze a tube mounted on the wall to dispense soap/lotion/ shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash. We found it comfortable to move around in a room with 2 beds. While there was plenty of space for us, if you’re traveling with 5 plus suitcases you might find it tight in the 2 bed hotel room.
Specific to this location, looks to be in good (safe) location i.e. people jogging, riding bikes nearby. The staff are friendly, in general people I’d like to work with/hangout with. Our room looked like the photo before the fitness room except we definitely had more walking space, similar to the photo before this one with the single bed and orange table. Also note the space for hanging clothes is visible in the single bed photo. Rooms with more walking space appear to coincide with rooms that accommodate accessibility needs. Our room had 2 shades for window a blackout shade and a...
Read moreI’ve stayed at Tru hotels before and usually love them. This was the worst experience I’ve had staying at a Tru hotel. The room I stayed in wasn’t the cleanest. The customer service was pretty bad. I cut my leg on the bench in the room and when I went down to ask for a bandage the lady at the front desk seemed annoyed I was asking for help. After looking in one drawer and went on with her business.I wasn’t provided with any first aid. I wasn’t getting any room service, so we ran out of towels and called the front desk to get more. The same lady I asked for bandages I could hear in the back ground Complaining. She was bothered that I was asking for more towels?? I asked the girl I was talking to for her name, Carol was the name the girl gave me. We stayed 3 days and the room service finally came on the day we were checking out. The staff made me and my boyfriend feel so uncomfortable. We didn’t even feel comfortable to eat any of the free breakfast. I noticed the staff was more focused either watching Tv or sitting around on their phones rather than helping guest. We tried to stay away from the staff as much as possible. When we went to check out we found our vehicle was broken into. The back window was smashed in and some Items missing. After looking at the reviews for this hotel and seeing this hotel has a big problem with cars getting broken into had me upset. If this was a common occurrence I don’t know why the hotel would not put precautions into place to protect their guest vehicle’s. After receiving Camera footage of the Incident I realized the same vehicle of the criminals had been parked out in the parking lot all three days we were there. So this location is obviously lacking in any awareness of what is going on in their parking lot. I wasn’t going to write a review for the unclean room and poor customer service, I work in the Service industry and I get that customer service is hard work. The car getting broken into was the last straw for us tho. I’m disappointed in this location and I will never...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with my husband’s and my stay on March 29, 2025, in Room 206. We chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary but were met with an issue that disrupted our plans. Before leaving our room at 1:54 PM, we noticed cockroaches near the entrance, took photos, and immediately contacted the front desk. We were told the only solution was a chemical treatment, as a room change was not possible due to the hotel being fully booked. After waiting with no follow-up, we went to the front desk in person and were informed that we would need to stay out of the room for hours while the treatment dried. Since we were traveling with our puppy, we had to leave the hotel and cancel a planned activity to accommodate the treatment process. I also requested to see the chemical’s ingredients to ensure our pet’s safety. The treatment was finally applied at 2:45 PM, and although we waited outside until 3:15 PM, it was still not dry upon our return. We were forced to continue adjusting our schedule and staying out for another hour. What was meant to be a short weekend getaway quickly turned into an inconvenience due to the hotel’s lack of preparation. We were finally able to return to our room at 4:45 PM, but by then, we had lost valuable time and missed planned activities. Our frustration grew because we had previously stayed at this hotel during Hurricane Helene and had a great experience, which is why we chose to return. As a military family, we appreciate businesses that value service members, making the lack of customer care all the more disappointing. Instead of a sincere apology or attempt to make up for the inconvenience, the manager on duty was dismissive, simply saying, “Sorry, but that’s all I can do,” in an unfriendly tone. As someone in customer service, I understand the importance of professionalism and empathy, which were missing from our experience. I hope this feedback helps improve how similar situations...
