The Northlake shopping area (near I-285 & LaVista) is part of my regular routine, with a variety of places: Three groceries: Kroger/Aldi's/Publix. Northlake mall includes Sears for most household appliances, tools & gadgets. Other stores range from Best-Buy electronics, to PetSmart supplies or a specialty sewing store. When you need tools & house fixup supplies Northlake is only a mile or so from two hardware stores... a great Ace hardware on Lawrenceville highway (East of 285), or Home Depot (West of 285) toward the Golden Corral at North Dekalb mall.
There are LOTS of good restaurants around Northlake, including Blue Ribbon grille, a really friendly Mellow Mushroom, huge sandwiches at Jason's Deli, the Admiral's platter in Red Lobster, classic dining at Hudson Grille, O'Charley's, Marlowe's Tavern, home style cooking without the dishes at Folks, Movie Tavern has food+drink with your entertainment, and a new Pollo Tropical is in the Target parking lot.
While you are in the area, you can get the car tuned up/alligned/brakes at Firestone. There are two branches of the Dekalb public library that are close... If you like thrift shopping, there are two Goodwill stores and a dollar store nearby... and you are only 1.5 miles form downtown Tucker, with a garden shop, more restaurants, Coffer brothers lumber, Advanced Auto, Walmart, another Kroger/Publix/post-office/library,etc...
So... You can find MOST of what you may need around Northlake/Tucker on the way from work or running errands...

GPS literally kept me going off and on I-20 when I would have saved time simply staying on Hwy 278 W. Anyway, this is the biggest mistake Emory has ever made since being a patient of theirs since 2013. It would work great for people Midtown and on the North of Atlanta but is absolutely insane for someone from the Southside having to drive that far for a pre-op Covid test. You literally pass 300 other Emory owned locations but they couldn't do the test at any of those locations. Suggestion: but part of Southlake Mall for your patients and...
Read moreThe wife and I like this little shopping complex. We are thankful there is a Best Buy here...these kind of stores are increasingly disappearing. There is a quaint little Sushi restaurant (Fujiya, I think) that has a weekly $1 sushi special. We have dined here probably 15+ times over the years and enjoyed every visit. They are connected to a Chinese restaurant (Lucky Key) that is...meh. They, relatively recently, have added an Aldi grocery store. I'd avoid this Mellow Mushroom location - it has become increasingly disappointing... All in all, a nice little...
