Michael's did not update their website to mention delays in curbside or same-day delivery orders, so my Friday morning curbside order was not ready by the 6 p.m. pickup cutoff time. I call Saturday morning (11 a.m.) and am told my order should be processed that afternoon because they pick 5-6 orders an hour. I was told I could call back later to receive an update. I call again in the 5 o'clock hour (to give them more time), and the female employee on the phone (who is clearly also running checkout line) refuses to look up my order as the previous employee had done. She states that no one was processing orders after 12 and that I never should have been told it would be ready. She tells me that I will have to come pick my order myself if I want it today because there are only 2 people working the whole store. I believe this is an example of poor customer service because the employee from this morning could have told me about coming in myself. As someone whose been social distancing since March, I always opt for delivery or quick pickup. The employee from this afternoon told me the store had been open for a month in a very condescending tone, as if it were stupid of me to even try an online order. For the record, this is not the only bad experience I've ever had here.    Read moreI have had bad experiences at this Michaelâs in the past but I think they have used our feedback to improve a lot! I had a great experience with Ginger and Brett the manager today. I needed about 14 balloons and Ginger was very kind and patient with my large request. I do think it would have been nice for the manager to help her since it took us together about 30 minutes to blow them up (I was tying, she was blowing up) just to help speed up the process, but she was great to work with. I offered some tips and tricks along the way and together we made a great team. I also appreciate the nice conversation we had throughout.
A side note for readers - Michaelâs is a great place to get balloons! They are slightly more expensive than Party City but they always offer coupons so itâs a great deal if you have your 20% off a regular priced purchase coupon like I did!
The only downside (which is not any of the employeesâ fault) is that you have to walk in and ask for the balloons - as far as I can tell, you canât order them ahead to be picked up like you can at PC. I know this is a fairly new offering so maybe theyâre planning to enhance the service in the future. It would be great if you could place an order through the app to be picked up! So in the future if I am on a time crunch and need a larger quantity like this, I may go elsewhere.

   Read moreThis place is a crafters dream and they get way too much of my money! Lol. During the Christmas holiday I ordered pieces for my Christmas village online to be picked up in the store. Four days later, I went to pick them up because they were supposed to be ready for pick up within the hour of placing the order, but I never received notice to come and pick them up. Well, needless to say, when I got there, nothing was ready and much of what I had ordered was no longer available. The manager explained that things had been chaotic during the holiday sales and some customers had complained about not receiving confirmation emails with a time to pick up their orders. The manager apologized and went out of her way to make sure that I remained a satisfied customer. She allowed me to choose from the other Christmas village houses at the same discounted rate. She even threw in a house on display for good measure and they don't come cheap! She turned what had been a bad experience into one that will keep me going back and shopping at Michaels on Lavista in Tucker GA, for years to come! You just don't get customer service like that anymore, so I was grateful to be treated like my business was appreciated and making sure that I was satisfied was important!
