Sadly the hotel is run as if it's from a third world country. Actually I am well traveled, and my expectations for hospitality are well founded. Everything seemed quite ok, until my wife kindly called the front desk for towels. She was told at 5pm that the towels couldn't be sent to the room because there were no housekeeping staff. Huh? a hotel hasn't the time or ability to send 2 towels to the room. 2 towels in a room for 4 people. Immediately anywhere else in the world they will send you two extra towels since they know your family size when you check in. So, I kindly went to the front desk where I asked nicely for 2 towels. I always start out kind and diplomatic. Surely, there must have been a mistake. No, the policy is that once housekeeping leaves you can't get anything as far as towels. Never in my 55 years of life have I heard of something so ridiculous. In the deepest depths of the third world, you can get service at 2am if you need it. So, I had to actually use tactics that I wouldn't normally resort to, in order to not have to share the towels we had in our room. Very frustrating! This she further told me was the policy. So, I asked for the manager. Also not possible to speak to the manager. So, I asked for a copy of these policies she spoke about. Oh, there is no copy of the policies at the location of the hotel. Sadly, the hotel is not run by corporate America but instead run by incompetent people who do not value their customers. After I DEMANDED the towels to the room, amazingly in 5 minutes they were there. After showing my frustration and disgust with the result they brought towels to my room. Personally, great hotel just needs a management and hospitality team trained in America and not in third world Asia. Dr....
Read moreLike many others, we booked this hotel because of its proximity to the university during Family Weekend—everything else nearby was fully booked so we chose this one because of the great pictures. First off, kudos to the photographer—whoever took the marketing photos knows what they’re doing. They are real. The rooms are renovated, and the pool does exist… although it’s quite small and not very inviting in person.||Unfortunately, what the pictures don’t show is the mold in the bathroom and the general atmosphere around the property. There appeared to be several long-term residents, and the parking lot often felt more like a shared living space than a secure area for guests. People were loitering around all hours of the day and night, and some were clearly under the influence of substances, making it very uncomfortable to walk through the area.||Noise was also a major issue. A man on a motorcycle thought it was fine to fire it up at 6 AM while loudly chatting with neighbors. Kids were running around in the middle of the night with no adult supervision. This is not the restful environment we were hoping for.||In the morning, I decided to walk a few blocks to Starbucks and immediately regretted not driving. Nearly every corner had homeless individuals either waking up for the day or still sleeping, and I didn’t feel safe at all. Despite being close to campus, this is not a walk I’d recommend, especially not for young women traveling alone.||Bottom line: while the pictures sell a certain image, the reality was very different. If you’re coming for a campus visit or Family Weekend, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere—even if it means staying farther away...
Read moreI have a certified disability that I don't have to talk about or explain to anybody. I have a prescribed emotional service animal for this reason. I don't have to talk about that either. I'm not obligated. This Red Roof Inn per the Ada law violated my rights. (Turns out AZ offers no protection for service animals just like this business) They told me I couldn't have my emotional support service animal in the pool area. I kindly asked them to look at the laws and understand that what they were doing was a violation. I gave them every opportunity to correct the issue. I recorded the woman telling me that I could not have my emotional support animal. In Arizona I do not have to have the other parties consent to record them as long as I am part of the conversation. Merely my own consent is enough. Such as a place may have recording going on and because they have consented and placed it there then it is legal. It is not illegal wiretapping or any such thing. The woman proceeded to further violate my rights by telling me she would call the police and that my stay is revoked, inflicting emotional trauma and myself and my son. I then spoke with the manager who was completely Unapologetic about the situation and raising his voice. I let a profanity go and without warning he decided he would disconnect the call. Clearly, this establishment and the corporate Foundation of it does not care about Americans with disabilities. Clearly they do not care about amicably resolving issues and would prefer litigation. I will no longer do business with this company.
I do have to say the rooms and the price are probably the best...
