Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Tucson

Tl;dr - short-staffed but nice staff. Waited 40 minutes and asked for a refund. They agreed, gave me complimentary food until Cassandra the manager refused to process the refund. I’ll go back when there’s a new manager.

Was out on a walk with my three month old baby and figured I’d surprise my wife with food coming home from a 13 hour shift in the hospital. I walked in and ordered two chicken sandwiches (sandwich only). They were busy and seemed short handed. The person who took my order and served me was very kind. I waited 5 mins to place my order which was no big deal as they were slammed. After waiting 35 minutes and the 5 orders that came behind me were filled, I walked ahead of line and asked politely for a refund so I could walk home with my waking baby. They agreed to give me a refund and very graciously offered to give me the sandwiches I’d ordered free of charge. The woman who took my order needed her manager to process the refund; the manager Cassandra refused to give me a refund because I had food. It seems pretty clear to me now that the reason the place was having such issues filling orders was mismanagement. Managers need to trust their people to make decisions and back them up in order for operations like this to run efficiently; Cassandra did not do that. Sorry to the cashier who had to feel stuck between me and management, I didn’t make a fuss because what could they do, but I appreciated the apology.

Update: Just ate the food. Delicious! Also, not my order. Ordered 2 classic chicken sandwiches and 1 came correct, the other came with no pickles or mayo. Was intended to be free food, so wouldn’t have bothered me. Felt like it really captured the culture and quality...

Just skip this location and drive to the one on Campbell. Literally every Campbell employee deserves a raise and the service has been outstanding!

As for the Stone location. We have gone here 3 times since it opened. Each time at least half the menu has been ‘out’. This last week they were out of all chicken except 1 drum stick and 2 tenders, 2hrs and 6min before close. We offered to wait and they said they just weren’t making any more for the night. We were confused and thought Google had the wrong hours. We apologized for getting there 6 min before close, and said google had them open until midnight. They confirmed the hours were correct but they were just closing down the kitchen early as it’s what they do.

Why stay open if your employees are consistently, based on 3 different night time experiences months apart, closing early? I’m sure the waste numbers on paper look great for this location. They should if they’re truly only serving what’s left over. If your employees are unwilling to serve your products during open hours; you’d save more in labor hours by just closing down. If I was the owner or district manager I’d be looking at this location under a microscope. None of the other Tucson locations have...

I’ll never go back! You’d think they would ask their employees not to hang out back smoking pot… Second it took forever to get my order. the lady hands me a sprite with 2 gnats right on top swiping around in it. How she didn’t notice it I’ll never know but she was so busy (no other customers there) and rude that I didn’t bother pointing it out. The fries are chewy, popcorn shrimp is chewy chicken tenders were fresh but we knew that because we had to wait 20 minutes for them. While we waited me and my 11 year old had the pleasure of listening to 2 of the employees that were on break watching inappropriate videos on their phones way to loudly then talking inappropriately. Not ok! After giving them ticked off dad look they quieted down a little. At least we got biscuits… but nothing to put on them. I ordered a lot of food! Enough for 5 people including 2 popcorn shrimp orders but they gave me 1 of each sauce after saying “I put a bunch of sauce in the bag for you” 🤦🏻‍♂️ I highly recommend avoiding this place! Unprofessional, unhealthy and gross. Those ladies should have been wearing hair nets or something but as I saw in another review they’ll just leave pieces of it...
