Gateway Saguaro — Attraction in Tucson

An awesome testament to the Neon Sign Age of mid-century Tucson Modernism, the Welcome Saguaro in the median of Oracle Road just North of Drachman Road is also a cute and eclectic addition public art piece that adds interest and value to an otherwise run-of-the-mill roadway in central Tucson.

Interesting oddity: the side that faces you as you look toward downtown has the lavel "TUCSON" while the opposite side (which would face you as you head North, away from dowtown) reads...

Really cool sign but needs to have a place for people to park and take pictures. It honestly feels like an unsafe area to be at night when you can get the best photos. It should be like the Las Vegas sign and be a destination, not some random thing that’s hard to get...

Cheesy landmark sign in middle of road. Not as big as photos make it appear. Not worth even slowing down much less...
