eHotPot is a great new fast Asian cuisine restaurant. I'd actually heard about it from some friends from California who raved about the chain from their old CA neiborhood. It does seem more authentic than the other fast Asian cuisine restaurants that we've had for years. They have a wider variety of dishes which are precisely described. So far I've had only the chicken curry bento and the BBQ pork bento. The chicken curry dish is fantastic. I keep having it. I'm a lightweight with spicy food, but I can eat most things. This dish while spicy is not overly so. It's got creamy curry sauce over the chicken that was rich and delicious. I've had it a few times. It comes with bountiful sides. If you want specifics check the menu. But I wanted to impart that the food seems very authentic. Plus it leans closer to home made style than almost all fast food places. When I got the chicken curry for the first time I was surprised to find that the (diced - chunk) chicken appeared and tasted as if it was not over processed and more out of a home kitchen while still being thoroughly professionally prepared. That came out in the sauce which was very good. Rich creamy spicy and rich with delicious curry flavor. The chicken was tender and seared very well. It might have been a little dry. But couldn't tell with the great sauce. The sides contained chunks of vegetables of tomatoes, onion, green pepper in a very nice broth (not sure what type). The bento comes with soup which was delicious and this bento includes the rice in its own bowl which I wound up mixing with the curry. The rice was exactly as it should be moist, a little sticky and plentiful. Another time I finally broke down and tried the BBQ Pork bento just to be different. It was very good but not as good as I would have hoped. I think the pork itself was carefully cooked and tasted good. But I was hoping for more of a BBQ sauce flavor like you might find at Takamatsu, but it wasn't quite as "saucey" as that. But it was delicious. I noticed with this bento that the sides were tailored for this dish and not just the same sides with a different entree. I appreciated that detail. In the end is this place better than others. Of course it sort of depends. But I think the quality of portion and taste is better than the other fast food places like Panda and Sarku. But I like those too. And eHotPot costs a little more. But they do give you more. I can't get enough of the chicken curry. And I'll get that instead of the BBQ pork. The service and staff are fantastic. So friendly and attentive. They're really trying to stand out for their service. Makes me wish we could dine in. But that parts not...
Read moreThis was my first experience with a hot pot. It's an interesting concept - you choose one from the menu (I got curry), and they bring you a pot with some vegetables, broth, and a few side plates with mysterious things (battered shrimp, rice paper covered meatballs one pork and one beef, and a fish cake - all raw), and a large plate of your chosen meat (I did chicken) which is also raw. You also get either a bowl of rice or noodles (noodles need to be cooked by you - I don't know about the rice). The vegetables and broth go on the burner at level 3 or 4, and you wait for it to boil. Then you can cook your other raw stuff in it. It's quite confusing as to what is raw and what you cook and for how long. I personally thought it was interesting but a contamination hazard, especially if the server is not clear about all of the things brought out. I guess I am not used to having raw chicken put in front of me. There is also a toppings and sauce bar to get dipping sauces from. That was also interesting. I would have thought if you were cooking everything in a hot pot of curry, that's your "sauce." This is a good experience to have once, but I probably won't do this again. If I am waiting 15-20 minutes for food, then I have to cook it for myself for the same amount of time (an additional 15-20 minutes) I might as well have ordered an already cooked dish that comes out in 15 minutes and have eaten it by the time a hot pot is just finally boiling. Seems kind of lengthy to get to an edible...
Read moreThis place is nice open and updated with nice vibes. If your thinking about the Korean style were you want grilling this is not the place. You can cook it in a convection pot with soup and just add your ingredients and that’s . it wait 3-8 mins till it cooks. We ordered seafood and teriyaki, In term of soup the seafood soup Epot is bland and to fishy smell, I know it’s seafoods but the fishy smell is not appetizing and the soup is so bland even you add some garnishes and sauce. The seafoods really looking great because they add one large lobster, large shrimps vegetables etc. I which they remove the shells of the shrimps so it’s easy to eat. The teriyaki is ok and the soup again is better than seafood but need more taste, still bland. . Boba drink was great they add a lot of boba balls which we love it, I love the purple yam unfortunately they run out of supply so end up the mango witch it is ok and the passion fruit taste weard like very strong like peach taste with sourness The sevice was good like it very attentive and the place is clean and bright. My kids has peanuts allergies so they took a while since they make sure no nuts was mix with our foods which is really nice service to provide and protect their customers from farm. We are a party of 2 adults and 2 kids with two order of epot and turn out a bit pricey. Great experience in this shop and my suggestions is make your soup tasty because it’s to bland ! They have a lot of...
