My review of Sitar of India.
I had mixed expectations coming into Sitar. As a flavor and spice enjoyer, I couldn't wait to take part in what was going to be a great meal. As a white man, I was hesitant as past experience have taught me never to underestimate Indian spice. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with a wave of smells that made my head spin and made me happier than a child on Christmas or a man with destructive tendencies on the Fourth of July. Upon walking through the buffet line. My heart sank as the Chicken Tiki Masala was unfortunately out. I instead took a sample of a couple of different meats complemented with Naan and another bread I didn't recognize. To say this food brightened my day is a vast understatement. With just a singular bite, I was transported to a land of spice and flavor never before seen or experienced by myself. The flavors complemented by the spice could win awards by themselves. Moving through my first plate, the experience itself keep improving with every bite. My mouth could hardly comprehend the magic before me but was not ready for what came next. I watched in eager anticipation as one of the cooks refilled the so sought after Chicken Tiki Masala. As I walked up to the buffet line, I was faced with a problem. Get the food that I wanted from the beginning, or go back to the chicken that sent me on a trip to flavor-town. I opted to take both and thus booked my ticket to paradise. After I had eaten my fill, I watched as a friend of mine come back with a cup of tea. I knew if their food was at such a quality, the drinks must be better. And to no one's surprise, the tea was amazing. Hot but with an amazing taste to back it up.
I could go on and on about the food, but I have to mention the staff. There was a waiter by the table always ready to whisk away empty plates and also offer advice on how to mix and eat certain things. For example, he recommended adding a little sugar to the tea. Which somehow made the tea even better! And to top it off one of the other patrons to one of the workers and told us we could call her Mami. Truly a pure and amazing establishment.
Rating 20/10. Would go back to fill my soul and...

Walking into the cutely decorated doors of the establishment, a wave of spicy aroma, enough to disable the average caucasian middle aged woman, welcomed me in. I was quickly seated with my group, and then told of the availability of an all-you-can-eat buffet! Taking this opportunity quickly, I lept up and made my way across the well maintained floor to the line. An older gentleman happened to spill some sauces on the floor as I walked up, but before I finished picking my food, the floor was cleaned to a shine. Being in the buffet line was very comforting, reminding me of my mother's cooking and serving methods. I picked an empty plate up, grabbed a pile of freshly cooked basmati white rice, and made my way to get a small salad as well. As I grabbed some naan bread and chicken tiki masala, I could almost hear my mother telling me to get more, so I scooped even more and added it to my heaping plate. I made my way to the table, ready to dig into my meal, and my orded for drink was taken and quickly delivered. I quickly started dismantling my plate, and the result was more than satisfactory. The chicken tiki masala was tender and fell apart quickly with a press of the fork, the rice was well cooked and complimented the slightly spicy sauce, and the sauce perfectly balanced the light flavor of the chicken. One of the better implementations of Chicken Tiki Masala that I have had the pleasure to enjoy. The building itself was clean, well-staffed with friendly people and equipped with comfortable chairs and nice table setups, especially for a large group. Overall, a great experience, a feeling of home, and completely deserving of a...
