Main rear door was out of order, and nowhere to pull up to unload near the door we were told to use. Door was propped open with a landscaping rock, and there were signs on all the doors, screaming at everyone to not prop the doors open, presumably as a half-hearted attempt to limit the comings and goings associated with trafficking of illicit goods and services. The signs did not appear to be much of an impediment to the comings and goings of shady-looking characters, who also seemed rather comfortable hanging around smoking near the doors.
Key card reader required multiple attempts almost every time. Room smell was stale but not horrific. The bed would have been a lot more comfortable if I hadn't come across a collection of crumbs and grit on the fitted sheet, presumably from a previous guest. TV channels were very limited, and many were staticky. The temperature control unit was filthy and crusted with disgusting crud, so I didn't want to even turn it on and risk inhaling chunks of nasty gunk.
Main light in bathroom did not work, and the front desk said they wouldn't be able to change the bulb until the next day. So the only working light in the bathroom was the heat lamp, which was on a 15-minutes-max timer, so rather less than ideal. There were shoddy patch jobs on the walls and bathtub. Shower fixture was janky and had low pressure, with about half the water flow just dribbling out the bottom of the showerhead, and a good deal of it spraying out of the faucet. Tub drain cover/plug was broken. For a "100% non-smoking facility", there sure were a lot of cigarette burns all over the bathroom.
The pool was shabby-looking and cold; I went in up to my ankles and came right back out. There is no hot tub. When I mentioned to a staff person how cold the water was, she said, "Oh, really? They must have just turned off the heater. It was 84 yesterday!" As soon as we were out of earshot, my child must have read my mind, because he said, "Mom, that sounded like something she just automatically tells everyone, when they don't ever actually turn the heater on."
Other than the waffle iron, the only option for hot food was a toaster, and the only thing to put in the toaster was a "selection" of three slices of stale-looking generic wheat bread. No bagels, no English muffins, no other variety of bread. Extremely limited selection of anything to put on the sad bread or the waffles. To my recollection, no yogurt or fruit. No protein but a sad jar of questionable boiled eggs. Generic cold cereal with only one milk option. Abysmal selection of teas and sweeteners. No hot water dispenser for teas or oatmeal or anything; the only way to get hot water was from an insulated container out in the lobby.
The staff were generally pleasant, and the location is convenient to the freeway, but the whole place is very shabby, and seems to be teetering on the precipice of falling into becoming a full-blown meth motel. I've stayed in some pretty run-down budget lodgings, and I don't even have super high standards, but this place failed to meet pretty much any of them. I will never stay there again, and absolutely do not recommend it to anyone not looking for that Breaking Bad Crossroads...
Read moreThe receptionist, a lady named Aydil called the police on me and my family because according to her we were having a fight! It was my wife and 7 year old boy in the room. We were resting wonderfully when all of the sudden the police arrived at our room and started questioning my wife and kid if they were ok. Which they we're because there was no fight going on at all. In the contrary we were enjoying our stay resting and watching TV. When I asked her who called the police on us she flagrantly said the call to police came from our room!!! Which never happened and then after many more questions she finally admitted to telling police that she heard me yelling at my child, which I never did. When she finally admitted that I asked to speak to the manager, she came out of her office and didn't even give me time to explain when she kicked me out as if I was a stray dog and not paying customer that did nothing wrong. They got angry because I was able to make them slip up and admit they called the police on me for no good reason after they denied it and lied and lied. I then asked for their national telephone number for complaints and reacted by calling the police again and again lied to them in front of me saying that I was threatening them and yelling at them! Which I never did again. I guess to them my threat was asking for their national telephone number. I waited for the police again to arrive because I did nothing wrong and when they arrived the police seemed to believe me instead of them. It seems they knew exactly where the call came from and they kindly asked me to just leave. They seemed to understand they were called into a false situation. I actually took a picture of the receptionist sticking her tounge out at me after telling me to leave as if I was at her very own home. The absolute worst experience ever at any...
Read moreI have been to many Wyndham properties and have really good reviews for those ones... However this particular one is not what I would brag about. The outside looks very unkept. Broken windows, looked like the grounds hadn't seen a lawnmower in a very long time. Overgrown bushes in the parking spaces. The inside - very outdated and looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. It smelled clean, but didn't look clean. We got an ADA room on the bottom floor. No shower curtain, housekeeping was right outside, so we got that dealt with quickly. The room had a transfer bench for the shower, but no rating for weight limit. The paint on the walls was chipped and peeling in the bathroom. The wall behind the lounge chair was damaged from something, before we arrived. The room has AC and it did work well, but it was noisy with loud rattling. I looked closer at the AC and it looked like the filter hadn't been cleaned in months. I also noticed that housekeeping had forgotten to leave washcloths, after I had already gotten in the shower... Continental Breakfast consisted of 3 choices of cold cereal, bananas, Yogurt, coffee, milk, waffles that you make yourself, and an empty case of something. Getting to the Continental Breakfast was really difficult. I walked the long hallway, noticing other ADA rooms. I have very limited mobility and usually I use a wheelchair, but not today. What I found at the end of the hallway was stairs going up to the next level where the breakfast was being served. Looked to be about 8 stairs. I did manage, but it was a good day/time for my body. But, I was very scared of falling. So, the reason for giving the 2 stars, rather than 1, is because the bed was very very comfortable and we also didn't hear...
