Absolutely infuriating. This campground has cut down all of the trees. The summer heat in Fl will absolutely cook you and they got rid of all of the shade. The park leadership blames it on the hurricane, but I walked through the area in 2019 and 2020 and about 50% or more of the trees were still standing and doing well. Look at my photo...if the hurricane took out the trees in the campground, why did it miraculously spare all of the other trees closer to the beach!? They also cleared all of the bushes and brush (you know, nature) despite 100% of it doing well. Now there is grass...that you aren't allowed to set anything up on. Another infuriating thing about this park is that during Spring Break and Summer when it's crowded, there is about a 2 hr wait at the gate to get in...and they don't have a separate gate for campers. So, you guessed it, if you run out to the store to get supplies for dinner mid-day, you'll be waiting 2 hours to get back to your campsite. This park cares nothing about you other than...

We went tent camping here for a night, and I can tell the campgrounds were meant for RV's. Our particular campsite wasn't a good site for tent camping because it was next to the dumpster and the bathroom, and on the map it didn't look that close together but it person the camp slots were tiny. So we had a lot of foot traffic at our campsite. We thought we could have a comfortable walk to the ocean area, but that spot was definitely driving distance, the lake was not easily accessible. The restrooms were clean, and the showers HOT. which was great. Also its convenient to last minute shopping if you need something. Check out is at 1 and when we started cleaning out our area at 12:30 I felt very rushed with the grounds keepers waiting close by for the...

This our favorite state park. We travel from TN every year because its got the best beaches. The campground is surrounded by water with many of them right on the water. There are good bath houses that are cleaned every morning, however the jetty store bath houses need more regular upkeep. The campground is a birding paradise, with nesting ospreys, great horned owls, bald eagles and every shore bird imaginable. It gets crowded on the wknds and after memorial day but only because its so beautiful. The swimming areas are family friendly with many concessions. Chair rentals, boards, kayaks, and pontoon boats. I hate telling everyone about this jewel cause it makes it even more crowded. But we love it here. We never leave the park the entire week....

This campground is well kept, but is under lots of road construction. The main road is narrow, and the sites are all different. When we arrived at the guard gate, we were told where to check in, then we received a pass and map. The campground store and bathhouses looked nice, but we didn’t check them out. The construction going on at the boat launch/marina and roads are messy, but it’s because they are making improvements. The full hook ups worked well, site 106 had level gravel, with a grill, fire pit and picnic table. All the sites are different as far as spacing, note that the wooden markers and small wooden fences make it challenging for big rigs. Lots of people camping in tents, and the glamping sites look really cool! Very busy camping and state park.
