2025 UPDATE (edited)- Will it looks like things have gotten worse... Below is the 2024 Owner Reply to my Review... Some of what he said may have been true, but I'm thinking it wasn't... I Confirmed tonight that they no longer have DAILY Food Specials that were a big reason to go here...They only have LUNCH Specials, that end at 3PM... Also, I'm told that the Specials can be found on Facebook (I couldn't find them Printed Out, like they used to be (probably because I'm there after 3PM).
I also had a meal a week ago that came out COLD, both Cuban Sandwich & Fries... I sent it back hoping for at least a new batch of Fries and a Warmed up Sandwich, but the Fries were only Slightly Warmed and the Sandwich was now Chewy (NOT Hot).
His Reply then and the Truth NOW in CAPS-
John Pizza special was removed because of the old oven could not keep up, new oven installed last week will be coming back. MAYBE TRUE FOR A WHILE, BUT THE PIZZA DEAL IS OVER... NO MORE PIZZA WEDNESDAYS 😢 (it's NOT on the Facebook Page, so correct me if I'm wrong). Prices and menu have NOT changed. $2 YEUNGLUNG TALL BOYS ARE NOW $2.50 and $5 POUND OF WINGS ON MONDAYS IS NOW $6.99 AND ONLY UNTILl 3PM 🫤 SO THAT STATEMENT IS UNTRUE... Specials are the same but we have added new and amazing items. MOST ARE ONLY LUNCH SPECIALS NOW AND NO PIZZA SPECIAL THAT I CAN CONFIRM? Everyday we have$1 beer special. ON THE MENU, BUT ALWAYS RAN OUT OF THE RED DIVER (THE ONLY $1 BEER) Every week special are posted on Facebook. Thanks for the review but your facts are NOT 100% correct. NOW THEY ARE CORRECT... CHECK FACEBOOK Also still do wing special. FOUND IT ON FACEBOOK AND THE DAILY $5/LB WING SPECIAL IS NOW A $7/LB LUNCH MONDAYS ONLY DEAL.
2024 UPDATE-
Patches has been Sold to a New Owner... Menu and Prices have Changed since my Original Review... NO MORE WEDNESDAY PIZZA SPECIAL 😢
The place is still Crowded, not quite as bad as it used to be, especially on Wednesdays 😏
The expanded Patio in back was nice to see, but I wonder how much it will be used now? (there wasn't anyone sitting in it during the dinner hour this past Wednesday)
I understand that they purchased a new Pizza Oven... Let's see if they decide to bring back the Pizza Special to help pay for that new Fixture?
Do they still have a Wings Monday Special?
The last time that I saw Specials on their Facebook Page, was Dated June 24th and it included all of their Weekly Specials, Burgers & Wings on Monday, Tacos & Margaritas on Tuesdays, Pizza Wednesdays, Ahi Tuna on Fridays and Bloody marys on Sundays... NO Updates since then.
Other than the New Rear Patio, I didn't see any other new Improvements, other than hearing about the ... Are there new, larger or updated
Prices are higher over the past two or three years, and that's not their fault, but Specials are what bring in the Locals... But perhaps they are wanting to bring in more TOURISTS 😞
Original Owners Specials:
Mondays: Wings Special- $5/lb. (One of the best Dry Rub ever)
Wednesdays: Pizza Special- $7 (Large Thin Crust 16" Cheese)
Fridays: Pan Seared Ahi Tuna Special- $9.99 (Fridays ONLY)
Cheap (many $2/each) Beer and Wine (Now Selling Booze also).
Everything on the menu, from Burgers to Salads, taste great and are all very reasonably priced ($10 Pub Reuben or French Dip).
Patience when you get there (parking spaces will open up all the time) and even though seating looks limited, tables seem to turn over...
Read moreIn an unbelievable display of mismanagement, Patches' Pub has recently ousted its most skilled and devoted staff members, ludicrously branding them as "bad apples" in what can only be described as an egregious misuse of corporate rhetoric. This disastrous decision exposes not just the incompetence embedded within Patches’ leadership but also signals a deep erosion of the restaurant’s operational standards and customer trust.
For years, these ousted employees were the backbone of Patches’ success, known widely for their culinary excellence, attentive service, and all around local vibe. Their ability to deliver exceptional service and create a welcoming atmosphere was key to the high esteem in which Patches was once held. The audacity of the management to then label these cornerstone team members as problematic is not just ironic but outright offensive.
By dismissing the very individuals who were integral to maintaining high standards and customer satisfaction, Patches has drastically reduced its own capability to deliver quality service. Regular patrons and newcomers alike will now and forever encounter a noticeable dip in the quality of food and service, a stark contrast to what had been Patches’ trademark.
This ill-advised purge, presumably aimed at fostering unity, instead has gutted the restaurant’s expertise and morale. Customers who once praised Patches for its vibrant servers and bartenders and dope bar food now meet only disappointment and mediocrity.
Now burdened with a leadership gap and a disheartened crew, Patches seems merely a shadow of its former vibrant self. One must seriously question the judgment of a management team that confuses destructive upheaval for strategic improvement.
By dismissing its most valuable assets under the pretense of removing 'bad apples,' Patches has not rejuvenated itself but has instead begun to decay from the core. As the fallout from this decision continues to manifest, the hope remains that the new owners will redirect the restaurant back towards valuing skill and dedication. However, given the current leadership's poor decisions, expecting such a turnaround might be overly optimistic.
In summary in case I wasn’t clear, yall messed around and...
Read moreLong read but thorough review of my experience on a July evening at Patches:
Ordered pickup. Tried calling several times and line was busy, no dial tone. When we decided to physically walk-in instead to order our to-go order we were told it would be a 1.5 hour wait to get food. When asked again just to make sure (place didn't look that busy), it turned to immediate "no wait" service. I thought at least "ok, no problem, they probably just finished a rushed service and kitchen + front staff just needs to catch up on communication."
We kept it in stride and ordered, one pizza (no jalapeños) and one order of cheese curds. They took down our number and told us they'd call us when ready. No problem, we made ourselves busy across the street at Alvin's to kill time.
After quite awhile, we got no call or message. When we came back, we stood around the cash register and got ignored for a few minutes even when we met eyes with some servers. Finally, we got around to having our food after a couple of patrons were trying to navigate around us. This prompted the staff to take care of us as I felt like they only did so when we were being a minor foot traffic problem.
All that to say: our order was waiting for us, and we spent who knows how long just waiting around for anyone to communicate to us that it was ready and ready to take our money.
When we opened up our boxes at home, we were so heartbreakingly disappointed. It was past 10pm and we have a sad, measly amount of cheese curds and our pizza had jalapeños.
Taking everything into account, I have to give our experience a 2 star rating. The family that suggested this place to us lavished this establishment as a great and amazing dinner spot for pizza, good food and vibes. However our service was anything but great and the food was mediocre and not worth the price with everything we experienced (plus, it was oddly smelling? I mean, hard to control that after a hot summer day with all the people inside but at least air the place out a little more?)
Thanks for the food, Patches. I'm just glad we didn't have any allergies to jalapeños and none of us were...
