Christmas week, 2024. The family and I booked this as a getaway for the holidays. I've debated on providing a review, but my hatred for the property and owner have persuaded me otherwise. So let's go!
To begin with, the property itself is clean, novel, spacious, and definitely accommodates multiple guests. This property is approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. All of the amenities work as they should. This is the extent of noticeable positives regarding the property.
Now onto what you should be concerned about: Owner (Dr. George) is adamant that should you call to explain your concerns is an inconvenience.. and he will let you know this. Owner speaks like he has never seen or been to the property before, but will definitely charge you if you're doing something prohibited. There is a random locked closet in the kitchen, which according to the owner, has ONLY linens in them. Owner has no knowledge of what the code for this locked closet. When called, and asked about the constant alarm going off for no reason, we were told he had no idea regarding this. If you have "half the brain" as I was told, regarding my understanding of the situation somehow that would fix all the issues of the property. The owner will call police should you not follow instructions and fail to address the concerns of his. You're on your own with this one.
If you enjoy living an Amish lifestyle without technology this is the spot for you. The doctor (not sure of what) thinks it is no big deal that your family has no internet/TV although you paid for it! This host is terrible: the utilities don't work, and if you call/ask for assistance you will be ridiculed by the Owner like my family was, saying that it is very inconvenient for him that his customer calls/texts.
Owner believes his rental is perfect, and if problems arise they aren't addressed whether you bring it to his attention or not. If this sounds like the great getaway spot you and your family are looking...
Read moreGiving 1 star because it won't go any lower. Let's start with the good. First off the unit was clean, very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the yard was well kept. Now the bad, 1st thing don't waste your time/money here unless that's your thing. To start, good luck finding a remote that actually works. 2nd the internet went out after the 1st day, I noticed the name of the network changed to something custom. Being a cable technician for 4+ years that was an intentional action. 3rd there is a random alarm in a closet in the kitchen that goes off randomly and the host(being the owner of the home) doesn't have the code to the door which is stange in itself. 4th the water pressure sucks in the showers. 5th please read your contract because smoking, vaping, ect is prohibited. There is a no smoking sign out front at eye level but out back it's about 5ft above your head, so be sure your 100% off the property before smoking. The last issue was, as we returned from dinner my family was on couches and I was in the restroom when the alarm went off AGAIN. The owner then called and told us we needed to leave and law enforcement was called to remove us, stating he knew the alarm was going off. With that being said that means the internet is still active and the host has access to the alarm and cameras. So with the alarm still ringing we ensured everything on the checkout list was done and timestamp photos and videos were taken. In conclusion if you want to listen to alarms go off at different hours of the day, have a host that doesn't know anything about a house he's purchased, not having internet connection, a getting kicked out when the alarm goes off randomly this is the place for you. I've traveled to multiple states and been in multiple rentals with no problems whatsoever. Your host will only provide excuses, then come on here and act like he did everything he could to help but wont mention his favorite line of "I...
Read moreUpdate again: I tried to reach out to the owner who states customer satisfaction is top priority, I had to leave a voicemail. Here we are a week after my voicemail & NO response from him. Actions speak louder than words. Non responsive now as well as when we were in the home with our multiple issues. Renters proceed with caution. Update to my previous review: we tried everything to increase the heat from 70 to 72 degrees & nothing worked. Messaged the host about it and we were told it has been “capped “ at 70 degrees. If you’re renting this property in the winter months & cold natured like me…bring a coat to wear inside. The internet/wifi went out just hours after our arrival, host was messaged/called about it. The router is in a locked closet (that had a keypad for a code on the door knob) host didn’t know the code to open it. Therefore, unable to reset it. We were left with no WiFi, and no way to watch TV the entire stay. We were told (in a few words) that we were bothering him on his Christmas holiday. Well, needless to say, our holiday was a bit uncomfortable & inconvenient. We are aware the remote controls to the TV’s are room specific. Even changing out the batteries, some of the remotes still did not work. Which none of that even mattered since internet went out & never came back on for our 4 day stay. Previous post: Owner of Airbnb has disabled the thermostat, making it impossible to make it warmer in the unit for Christmas family get together. Remote control on 2 of the TV’s don’t work. We added new batteries, but still...
