Streamside at Vail. Sun-Fri. Our first time here. Booked 11 months in advance. Aspen building. 1st floor. Check-in was easy. Little computer issues but they got it resolved. Access to our room from parking lot was short. Luggage carts readily available. We love fall weather temps so we knew this was a great time to be here. That is until we entered our room. It was 80 degrees in there. Full blown sauna for this hot flashing 53 year old. Immediately started messing with thermostat to cool it off. Nothing was happening. Called the front desk. That is when I discovered there was no air conditioning. đł seriously? I could feel a small panic attack happening. (Itâs 65 degrees in my house year round) they told me itâs on the website. Mustâve missed that !! And they said they would bring an extra fan. (They never did). We managed to cool the room off with keeping windows open and the ceiling fans on the entire time. Brought temps down to 71 in room. Now ⌠we decided our room may be haunted. The ceiling fans/lights have a mind of their own. They randomly turn on and off on their own. Let me tell you ⌠having a light turn on in the middle of the night while you are sleeping #1 scares the bajeezus out of you and #2 makes you angry. It would do this several times in the night. And the ceiling fan would turn off. Not good!! Needed it on to stay cool enough. Needless to say this was the worst sleep Iâve ever had on vacation. Oh and itâs super odd that you canât soak in the nice soaker tub due to the baffling installation of the tub and shower fixtures.
The accommodations are very comfortable, clean, and updated. The appliances and cooking supplies are good quality. The service is lackluster. We have stayed twice, and the staff is not super helpful. We had planned part of our day around my daughter wanting to spend a little time in the hot tub before we left. It was supposed to be open at 8:30. At 8:45 I called and asked if they could send someone to open it, they said they would. After 9 I called again and they said they couldn't really do anything. So we skipped that. We also wanted to swim in the pool. There was a thunderstorm, so we waited for 30 minutes after it had passed to visit. But there was a sign it was closed due to weather. I asked the front desk when they would re-open, and they said it would be closed the rest of the day. There were still 3+ hours left to the day, with clear skies! These experiences were disappointing. The location is super convenient, with regular shuttles to Lionshead and Vail. A bit noisy off the highway, but it's still really beautiful with the trees, landscaping, and stream. Nice little balconies. Also a good place to stay in the winter if you don't have 4WD, since you don't have to drive far off the highway and there are shuttles. Supermarkets across the road, super convenient for stocking up for the stay. Would stay again, and recommend to others, but don't have high expectations...
Read moreDo not stay here. This place and these employees are a complete disappointment. No AC so windows must be kept open. Name says itâs streamside but itâs actually so close to the highway all you hear are big rigs, motorcycles, sports cars, and road bumps. Especially considering when itâs hot and the windows are open because there isnât AC. Ceiling fan in bedroom didnât work properly. Box fan from 1964 was loud and dirty. The place doesnât have enough hot water to fill a bath tub. When I requested for maintenance to check out the hot water heater they showed up didnât resolve, didnât communicate, and by all accounts it appears they went through luggage. Why have a bath tub if there isnât enough hot water to fill it. Communication from the front desk was rude, unhelpful, and unaccountable. Do not stay here. Received convoluted mass text messages from the front desk manager at all times of the day and the evening. Was told via these text messages that if vehicle wasnât moved in morning they would tow it at our expense. The parking lots were being repaved so in addition to the loud highway noise we smelled paving tar. This place shouldnât be called streamside. It should be called urban dystopian nightmare. Itâs over priced and you will be far happier...
