My order was entered incorrectly as a "beef and broccoli" the night of my Kentucky Derby soiree. I called the next morning as this is an establishment I frequent for the Mongolian beef. I was so offended by the cashier who responded to my inquiry in a offensive tone arguing that he couldn't have simply made a mistake. He asked for me to hold on the line for him to ask his boss if they could remake my dish, to Wich he hung up. I packed the order in my dry bag and drove up, where I was surrounded by the staff and he smugly asked why didn't I call at my event, and you can talk to my boss this afternoon. I politely asked if they could just remake the dish while he stood there pretentiously posturing and brow beating me. I asked if there was a waist station I could unload my order into to leave the uneaten order for the "boss" to come in to view. The cashier and his theatrical antics recommended the dumpster across the parking lot with ushering hand directives. After the entire staff collectively decided that I should speak to the boss a 3:30 4:00 p.m. I asked for a bag and left the uneaten order on the bar. To add insult to injury the cashier retrieved the bag from the bar with his appetizing foolery appeared moments after I returned to my vehicle to then offer me the items to which I intentionally left behind. I had to repeat my number digit by digit several times last night, I wouldn't have ordered beef and broccoli as I have a severe food allergy to broccoli, I'm so disappointed in the staff in its entirety I have been coming to this place since I moved here have never ordered anything else other than Mongolian beef extra spicy and always match my tip to reflect 100% of the price of whatever dish I order. Disgusting treatment of female black veteran 🤮.
Please don't eat here, the integrity of this establishment is...
Read moreI'm really surprised by some of the not-so-laudatory reviews of May Palace! We arrived in Vail after an 11 hour drive to meet family at a time share. We were planning on cooking for most of our stay, but when everyone got there and hadn't had any chance to unpack, we looked for delivery. This was not the fastest delivery... about an hour or so in, we called and were told it was on the way. When it arrived, everything was hot (as hot as delivery can be!) and surprisingly good. We had a variety of dishes... fried rice, sweet & sour pork, orange chicken, pork dumplings, pork moo-shu, and wanton soup. The only disappointing thing was the soup, but everything else was really good! And note that there were three chefs in our party... we may not know Chinese like a native, but between people who have been cooking for decades and people who have been traveling for decades, we have a pretty good idea of when something's wrong ;-) Check some of my other reviews.
Not sure we'll return to Vail, as the altitude was a bit much for some of us low-landers, and nobody skis any more. But if we did, we would absolutely order from May...
Read moreMy husband and I have dined at May Palace in the past. We decided to stay in and order delivery from May Palace last night. The Wonton soup contained a few shrimp. They were inedible. The consistency was literally mush. We thought we’d pick out the shrimp and eat the rest. However, the shrimp had been so offensive we just couldn’t get ourselves to eat it. Our main course was shrimp with walnuts. It was beautifully presented. The shrimp were much larger than the ones in the soup. We were hopeful they’d be better. One bite convinced us they were the exact same mush as those in the soup. The entire meal was consumed by our garbage disposal. We called the restaurant to explain our disappointment in receiving an inedible dinner. The manager told us the shrimp were very fresh. He gave us a credit for the soup, but not the shrimp with walnuts. We found this to be an unacceptable conclusion. We told the establishment we intended to tell the concierge at The Arrabelle (where we have a home) not to ever recommend May Palace. They clearly did not care. Do...
