Unlike other reviews I have read for this hotel, we had no idea a renovation was under way until we checked in. The clerk told us that cleaning fluids which had been used during Covid had destroyed the sofa, and if we wanted, we could be given a sheet to cover it. We accepted the sheet, thinking this was a first.||The problems we found were not from cleaning fluids, but from a rundown, dirty hotel and poor management. The material covering the sofa and ottomans was peeling off and the peels were all over. The room and the hotel were generally dirty (the hand rail in the stair well was so sticky I hated to touch it), the lamp shades in our room looked like someone had played football with them, the ceiling in the bathroom was moldy, the toilet was filthy, the stuffed chair had a slit in the fabric (which had been sewn-over), there was no hot water, and the shower was lousy.||When we spoke with the desk clerk, she told us the hotel was being renovated, it was on their website so we knew about it when we booked it, and their prices had been lowered as a means of compensation. We asked to speak with the manager and were told there was no manager on the premises. There was no renovation notice on the Hilton website that we used to book it, and the prices were comparable with similar hotels in the area. The desk clerk was bored, rude, dismissive and offered no apology. She did, however, get the hot water repaired.||We had booked 2 nights and when we returned to our room the 2nd day at 5:30pm, our room had not been cleaned. We called the front desk and were asked, “Did you request service?” No, it had not occurred to us that we needed to ask for maid service. We were told the hotel was understaffed and they could only service turnover rooms, not “stay-overs”. When we asked for clean towels, we were told we could come get them at the front desk.||The typical hotel breakfast turned out to be an extra cost, the last of the unwelcome surprises from this terrible hotel. I have never had to pay for that kind of breakfast before. ||I wrote to Hilton Customer Service and lodged a complaint. In response I received an email asking if my concerns had been resolved. I responded that I had not received a response of any kind. And that was the last I heard from Hilton.||Wretched all around — the dirty, shoddy hotel and the lack of service from both the hotel and from Hilton. There are many other hotels with great service — see my review of the Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites (Centralia) where we stayed after this hotel. The manager of the Double Tree could learn about customer service from...

I wish I could have given this 5 stars. The second most important thing to me in a hotel room after the bed is my morning COFFEE! The first 2 mornings were fine, but the second night when we returned, we found that they had never restocked the room or cleaned. So the next morning, we had to go to the desk and ask for some coffee. They are so cheap with their sugar, though, I had to go back and take some from one of the tables in the restaurant. There are some people who like more than just 1 or 2 packets of sugar in their coffee and when we have more than one cup- well, you do the math! (They gave us enough coffee for 2 cups each yet only 3 packets of sugar!) Fortunately, I was only a few doors down from there, but I just don't understand why they were so generous with their sugar substitutes but not cream and sugar. The other thing was that there were 4 of us, but only 2 towels. I happen to catch the housekeeper out in the hall that second morning, and she gladly gave me a couple and apologized, saying she didn't know why they hadn't put additional ones in the room. She asked if there was anything else I needed, and I said no. Thsi may have been why they did not come and clean/restock the room that day, as I meant only that we didn't need anything more right then, and she may have thought we didn't want them making up the room- (My husband says some people will ask for towels and not want them coming into their room while they are gone) I will assume that is the reason, as the first day, they went above and beyond! Not only did they make the room up very nicely, they even took my kids' character blankets they had thrown all over their bed and nicely laid them all out.Made it look extra special for them :) The bed was like heaven and I wish I would have gotten a name brand off the mattress topper because those 3 mornings I awoke to no pain in my hip as I do at home. The only other downfall, which was not necessarily the hotel's fault is that I was kept awake the first 2 nights by the person in the room above me stomping back and forth half the night! We had a king room for my husband and I and 2 small children. I was astonished when I first saw it! Finally a room with some space! It had a pull-out bed in the first part, along with a large executive style desk, then a half divider with the bed being on the other side.Traveling with children, I have not seen many rooms large enough to breathe in but this was great! I did not notice stains on the carpet as others have complained about. The room seemed very clean to me, and I am...

wish i could give a negative 10 on this hotel worst stay in my life staff not friendly very aggressive. had two rooms booked have hotel not sure what he is chewing his cud looking all weird when checking in. Got both sets of keys Room 210 and 214 gave 214 key to sister in law room was dirty. called front Desk got new room 217 was acceptable. went to dinner came back then another gentlemen tried coming into our room. Guess staff does not know what rooms they have or not or just likes providing personal space to customers. then the best front desk lady calls an hour half latter. and was rude and condescending on phone to us cause they did not know who was in the room after explaining she still wanted more info.then has the nerve to say do not speak to me that way to us. wow there screw up but our problem so went down to desk asked for manager was told no we cannot talk to a manager then still would not listen. things escalated and my sun was assaulted by some guy as OWE SUPPOSED STAFF JUST STOOD THERE AND DID NOTHING. was told just there for the protection of the desk clerk owe ya would speak at all when addressed just give dirty looks and scowl at you. cops were called staff did nothing to help them but maybe lie to them was told all the cameras do not work. seemed as the gal new the guy that assaulted my sun but would not identify him. was told next morning that the front cameras work but who knows seems like to me this place needs some customer service training or just training period. hopping i am not charged for the same room twice cause i got two folios for it just different cashiers. for supposedly a Hilton property and they are supposed to be the best i would rather stay at a Motel 8 cause i have never been treated like i was at this property. owe ya asked when the manager would be in was told 7:30 waited got another shift change then was informed they do not work weekends. so i am sure customer satisfaction is not high on there priority list cause have not got any calls on this issue at all church mice so in my opinion would think twice on staying at a Hilton property cause they do not live up to there reputation or the supposed standard they imply they have. sincerely one Disappointed Guest

PS. i would post more pics of the run down furniture but why does seem that it does not...

Stay somewhere else! I almost immediately regretted our decision to stay here upon walking into our room this evening. At first it didn't seem too bad until my eyes locked in upon the couch in the corner that appeared to have been nabbed from a curb during a frat house clean out. I checked back with the hotel's website to see that we hadn't missed anything when booking. Yes, there is a note stating that the hotel is undergoing renovations however there is zero indication from the photos posted or the high price charged that would make one think that the actual room they are renting was still in the planning process of those updates. Additionally, our room is filthy with cobwebs, a surprise arachnid hanging out at eye level over the coffee bar, stains on the ceiling, a dirty sink and some kind of stain running down the wall...coffee (I hope, though maybe blood from a past guest that cut themselves on what's left of the sharp and jagged couch upholstery). It would seem the money the hotel must be making in just one night on suckers like us could surely fund a piece of furniture with intact upholstery and decent housekeeping. I am extremely disappointed in the switch and bait presented by this hotel and we will not be giving this location another chance. I recommend that you don't either. Also, free cookies? I didn't know anything about this until seeing someone mention it in the reviews. No free cookies here unless you count the graphic on the shuttle bus parked outside the front door. The only complimentary item offered from the hotel was a flat sheet to cover the rapidly disintegrating sofa. We've yet to sleep here or partake in the breakfast we've (unfortunately) already paid for. I'm not hopeful but will update if these things somehow end up far exceeding our expectations. Update: before bed my daughter noticed blood (?) in several places on her bed's duvet. This morning in the daylight I also noticed just how not clean the room is. Dried up food (?) and thick dust on the carpet's perimeter. Breakfast was meh and the usual hotel buffet fare. One positive...the pillows were pretty nice!

Room is disgusting! The furniture is peeling horribly but that’s the least of the grossness surprisingly. The walls are splattered with light red and dark brown spots. There are prints all over the bathroom door. Nicks are everywhere on the bathroom door frame, full length mirror, counter ledge. I washed the wall with a wash rag before my daughter slept there. It came off easily (proving there’s been no effort to clean it) and the wash rag was disgusting. Pictures are included of just some of the gross room we paid over $500 to stay in for two nights. Here for baseball or I would have went home. The front desk staff is also not very helpful or kind. Josh was fine however, either Daryl hates Josh or doesn’t like me. He was extremely rude that I asked for linens. We booked the room for 4 people and only got enough linens or towels for 2 people. There’s red splatters on the ceiling and cob webs in the corners. Very disappointed and wish I didn’t have to sleep here. Definitely not what I expected from Hilton. Also was never informed that the hotel was under renovations. I made the reservation over the phone and they said nothing. When I asked for something to cover the peeling couch they also said nothing about renovations. No cookies waiting at the front desk as stated. Also not sure how this peeling furniture is due to renovations. Front desk staff said it’s from cleaning supplies used in 2020. Should have been replaced long ago. Response to owner: you did not acknowledge anything about the dirty condition of my room. The renovations had no impact on my stay. Everything mentioned does not have anything to do with renovations that we were also were not informed of. We overheard the front desk telling another customer of the cleaning supplies damaging the furniture 4 years prior. I did use digital check in but then proceeded straight to the front desk to obtain physical keys and request the needed linens. Your response does not address the issue in my post. It seems as though current renovations is just the excuse for poor customer service and extremely poor accommodations.

This could be a great place. It appears to have “good bones”. But it’s in sad shape. In fairness, the Hilton website does say renovations in progress February 2023 - February 2025. Typically, hotel renovations are done floor by floor, or one wing at a time. The concerned rooms are removed from inventory, and life goes on. Not here. Not mentioned on the website is the fact that the lone elevator is out of service indefinitely. And when you book online, you’re committed. No refunds or adjustments. So we are staying here … like it or not. They did offer assistance carrying bags up the stairs. The hip that’s awaiting replacement appreciated that. We were ushered through the hallways into the construction zone. Drywall dust, paint door, furniture piled in hallway, and wallpaper partially peeled. Into the room, and thank you to the fellow who helped us out. First thing we noticed was the air conditioning was set to 55 degrees. You could have hung meat in the room. Luckily, we needed to go for dinner and were able to turn on some heat to return to. On return, we look around the room. Shabby and dirty. The shower floor was filthy. Dust and dirt by the night stand. Burned lampshades. And furniture that may have been sourced from a demolition site. Again, we accept that renovations are happening. We accept that things might not be 100%. But this room is not suitable for occupancy. The owner should be ashamed at offering this quality of product to guests. Other normal offerings at Doubletree locations are cookies. It’s a small thing, and there are even several placards at the front desk advertising this, we weren’t offered at all. Simple water is available in the room for $1.00/bottle. It seems profit is the motivation here, not guest relations or comfort. This room should never have been offered to a paying customer. It’s been under renovation for a year and a half, and this is the best they can do. We cannot recommend this property for anything other than location. It’s not a nice place, and I feel badly for the staff that has to face customers experiencing this property.
