If I could give this place no stars I would definitely do it. So we show up to the "Hotel" and I use the term loosely. Get to the front desk. I was very kind, and asked for 2 extra pillows as my Husband and I both have back issues. He informed me that he didn't know if the housekeeper had left yet but he would " See what he could do" I am not sure how much effort it takes to go to a closet, but whatever. Got our key, as we were walking to our room, it smelled like rotten food going down the hall. We get into the room window was open with huge hole cut out so bugs or even birds could fly in. Looked at coverlet on bed, had stains on it. All ready I was not getting a good feeling. The pictures that I put up will say it all! Did not get pillows until 10pm at night. I thank God that I took a shower before I left the house as I would not bathe an animal in this tub. TV didn't work, we were a hop, skip and jump from the front desk. I called to let her know tv wasn't working. Instead of her coming to do HER job she prompted ME on how to fix tv. Microwave had to be moved to be plugged in and didn't even heat up a cup of coffee. Long story short..... keep driving, pay those few extra dollars for a better place not a no tell motel. When I told him the issues the following morning after getting maybe 1 hr sleep he offered me a whopping 10% back, which I never saw. And don't look for help from Expedia, even though I booked with them, I paid the hotel directly, so this has been an ongoing battle to get my $103.49 back. I am surprised I didn't bring home bed bugs as a consolation!!!!
So just a quick update to my post, although the "owner or manager" of this dump never called me back. They had posted that they take pride in their establishment. Yeah right. Did not even get to speak directly to her, but she told her Bellboy that she would not give me my money back at all. That I needed to go through Expedia, who did nothing else either. So you live and you learn, like I said drive past. Very Very...

I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Vernon recently and just had to share what a genuinely pleasant experience it was. This place surprised me in the best way — not only is it clean and comfortable, but the people working here are some of the kindest I’ve met in a long time.
The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. You can tell they really care about making guests feel welcome — they took the time to answer my questions, gave me local recommendations, and were always smiling. It made a big difference.
The room itself was simple but super clean, with everything I needed — comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower, working Wi-Fi, and plenty of parking. It’s pet-friendly too, which is such a bonus if you’re traveling with a furry companion.
One of the best parts of this location is how many great restaurants are nearby. Rein’s Deli is literally right outside — like, you can walk out of the hotel and be eating one of the best pastrami sandwiches of your life within minutes. It’s a local favorite and now I know why! There are also Chinese and Japanese restaurants nearby (I tried both and they were delicious), plus other options like diners, pizza spots, and cafes all just a short drive or even walk away.
Whether you’re just passing through or staying for a few days like I did, this is a great place to rest your head. It’s quiet, clean, affordable, and has a really welcoming vibe. It doesn’t try to be fancy — it just does all the basics really well, and with heart.
I’ll absolutely be coming back the next time I’m in Vernon. Thanks to the team at Red Roof Inn for making my stay feel so easy...
Read more(!!!) Would not recommend. (!!!) Horrible stay.
Only giving it alone star because it’s a requirement. Otherwise, I’d give none. Upon arriving to our room, we were greeted to a collapsed headboard above one of the double beds. It was simply being held up by two nails and a long narrow piece of wood attached to the wall. We purchased a deluxe room based off images online only to enter into a standard room with two double beds — even though we were expecting a King sized bed deluxe room with a sofa bed. 3 out of 5 of the Lamps/Light fixtures in the room didn’t work Bathroom piping was so backed up, when I turned the shower on, the water was rising up past my ankles as it wasn’t going down the drain. There were rips and tears in the bedding/comforter on top of one of the beds. No complimentary continental breakfast although it was promised. The towel rack in the bathroom came undone when I reached for the towel to come down after taking a shower. The AC was barely strong enough to keep 1/4 of the room cool and looked as though it had never been cleaned or properly maintained. The WIFI was awful. Sure, it’s free, but it was only ever at 2-3 bars and worked slower than molasses. The smell was the worst part. Despite it being named a “Non-Smoking” facility, the hallways and room reeked of heavy smoke. Our eleven week old baby with us and paid for three nights only to barely stay for 24 hours because the smoke was only becoming more toxic the more we had to use the restroom — turning the light also turned on the overhead fan which we deduced where the toxic smell of smoke was coming from.
Requested refund for days not stayed, and pending. Nothing offered by this hotel is worth it, not even for the cheap...
