I've been coming here for nearly 40 years and still love the place. My complaints are with the town and nearby attractions. After all this time, we've pretty much exhausted all the local things to do and we find that there are fewer of them these days. Also, a day trip to Burlington (which still has interesting things to do) is no longer on our schedule as we find the drive just too long at our age (particularly since neither of us is comfortable with highway driving any more). Also, the crime rate has increased over the years. We're considering more exchanges in the future but they'll be closer to home. The units (separate free-standing houses) are clean and well kept. The updated kitchens are nice but I miss the old really long counter. The staff has been reduced (mostly due to COVID-19) and the clubhouse has shorter hours (now closing at 6:00 PM though it used to be 9:00 PM). Regardless, Eagles is still our home away from home and we won't be abandoning it. Hopefully, the town and surrounding areas will have a revival so we'll have more choices...
Read moreThe resort is very nice for a particular type of traveler, small groups that can make use of the three beds. The accommodations outside the bedrooms are not comfortable and have no privacy, and there's this odd situation where someone on the pull-out couch has no access to a bathroom if the bedroom door locks worked, which not a single bathroom or bedroom lock functioned in the entire building. It is only near one town in walking distance. The pool is open for a very short period daily compared to other resorts. The room was well stocked and clean, excepting the outdated entertainment center (small tube TV). For us this was not an issue as a large stock of puzzles and table games were provided next to the wood fireplace. The dry sauna was also nice and clean. Linens were provided copiously. The floorplan on their website is accurate. The staff were friendly. I would still hesitate to recommend even with the positives because of my experience with the...
Read moreEagles is a group of 16 Swedish-styled chalets that are about 40 years old. We had a one week stay via RCI exchange, and came during the second week of January (primarily to ski at Sugarbush). Eagles management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was very efficient. The two-storey units have a lofted master bedroom with on-suite full bathroom and adjoining sauna. Our unit was clean and reasonably well maintained (there were a few minor issues that we informed staff of, none that significantly affected our stay). The main floor is an open concept kitchen, dining and living area with a large stone fireplace. Sliding doors go out to a large deck. One of the highlights is the adjoining single-car garage that easily accommodated our RAV4 with Thule on top. The overall design and appointments are beautifully rustic. The secluded single-dwelling units are peaceful and isolated from disturbances. We would look forward to...
