THE WORST M6 I'VE EVER STAYED AT.
This Motel 6 is very poorly managed, with no security and horrible housekeeping. I've stayed at this location numerous times and I have been disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME.
No matter what room they put you in, the towels have stains and other people's hairs stuck to them đ¤Ž, black mold in the bathrooms, floors in the rooms are dirty and sticky, you can't even come out of your room without smelling cancerous cigarette smoke because Management refuses to tell guests to smoke 25ft away from the building in accordance with California state law. All the parking spaces are incredibly tight and close together, so other guests will hit your car with their door and just not say anything.
First time I booked a room for 3 days during Thanksgiving. After I paid for the room (which is non-refundable) they told me their water heater was broken, and I ended up not having any warm or hot water for the entirety of my stay, only freezing cold.
The second time I stayed in Room 209, the shower drain was clogged up and the heater was broken. They didn't have any available rooms to move me to but said they would have their Maintenance guy look at it. Maintenance never came.
Third time I stayed there I specifically requested "No Room Service" for the day. I then left the motel to grab some food, came back walked in my room and saw housekeeping was moving my personal blanket and clothes off the bed. All my stuff was moved around. Their policy says they are not allowed to touch any personal belongings if they are on the bed. I walked in my room and saw housekeeping moving my stuff with the same dirty latex gloves on that she used to clean and touch garbage with. When I told management about it she said that could never happen because "housekeeping knows they aren't supposed to do that", as if I was just making it up đ
The next time they put me in a conjoined room next to the pool. The room has another door inside that leads to the room next door, so they're basically connected. I was laying in my bed and all of a sudden noticed all I could smell was cigarette smoke. I got up and got down on the ground next to the conjoined door and you could smell it was coming from the room next door. I got up and gathered all my stuff and had to walk down to the front office to ask them to move me. The lady in the front office was nice and moved me 2 doors down, but she never did anything about the guy who was hot boxing a non smoking conjoined room with cigarettes. She just let him stay.
Last time I stayed there, they put me in the same room I had stayed in a month prior, Room 209...The shower drain was still clogged and the heater still broken. I couldn't comfortably take a shower and the heater would only blow out cool air no matter how high you set it. Then when I was outside in the parking lot, 2 other guests who I don't know and have never met before, walked up to me out of no where, started an argument with me, said they would pray for me, then told me to shut up and then threatened to have their pitbull attack me.
I went and told Debbie the Manager and she said those guests had already checked out and that they would be put on the "Do Not Rent" list so they wouldn't be back. The next day around 9 am, I was sitting in my car and the same crazy lady walks up to my car with her pitbull and starts yelling for her husband "Here he is!". I went straight to the front office to ask Management to tell this lady who threatened to have her dog attack me to stop harassing me... Management then told me that she never threatened me and basically defended the lady who threatened to have her dog attack me for no reason.
Everytime I've stayed here at this M6 location I felt like it was a waste of money. Usually $100+ per night and it's ALWAYS drama. I will NEVER go back there.
Especially because of the rude delusional 4 foot tall Manager Debbie who looks like she chews on chunks of...
Read moreMotel 6 Walnut Creek is a solid place to stay. With no microwave, coffee pot or fridge, be prepared never to eat in the room. BART is literally a five minute walk, so you have access to everything in the Bay including SFO & Oakland International Airports. I like to run and there are ~20 mile long local trails such as the Contra Costa Canal Trail and the Iron Horse Trail within a five minute walk. The room I stayed in is nicely refurbished but the $5/day WiFi for streaming your favorite Netflix and Amazon videos from your laptop or phone to the HDMI connector on the TV kicked me off so often I got a good workout getting up to reconnect my laptop to the Internet. If you're a business person who needs to work on your website you won't like the Network here. The system is set up so that FTP is severely crippled - at least with GoDaddy hosting. If you use Wordpress, Google Docs or services like OneDrive and not FTP you can update your blogs just fine. The speed over http is fast enough. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. I had no problems with them. My only complaint was that I like to take a nap between 2-4 pm because I work late hours and it was difficult to get the cleaning service to recognize those hours even though I would call down to the manager to ask for service before 2pm.
Motel 6 is very friendly to dogs and has a very small dog yard complete with a station for clean up bags. Again, if you walk 5 minutes away, you can get to the Iron Horse Trial entrance which connects to the Contra Costa Canal Trail and then a short walk of about a 1.5 miles will get you to the Heather Farms Dog Park which for canines and their human companions, is amazing. Pet owners may also enjoy the fact that the floors are simulated wood, not carpeted. This makes it much easier to clean up after your best friend.
The TV is a cheap 36" HD Samsung but the nice thing is you get a CLEAN feed from the service provider instead of a reduced and split feed that degrades the picture quality. So you actually get an HD picture and not a standard def picture. The TV will support a 1900 pixel resolution when you plug in your device to the front facing HDMI port which is great for your laptop, ChromeCast, XBox One or PS3. The TV will not pair with Bluetooth devices so you'll have to use the speakers instead of a wireless headset and your neighbor might hate you when you blast your Orange Is the New Black binge.
My room faced the Freeway but to be honest, I didn't hear it at all. The insulation in the room keeps the noise down enough. The noise that I did hear are the work trucks revving up their motors in the morning to go to their jobs. Plenty of hard working laborers stay here.
In summary, no frills but no major problems. You actually do get what you pay for. Nothing more - but...
Read moreEND RESULT - We did not feel safe or comfortable in the room that we had paid a price to reserve (Room 133) Staff was pleasant and helpful- however odd that they called us 30 minutes after check in to see if we were still coming and wanting to know when we would be arriving. It makes me wonder if our room was used during this time that we were not checked in. We checked in at 7:45 pm. As soon as we opened the door to the room - immediately hit with the smell of weed; no question [Red Flag #1] During our normal inspection of sheets and mattress, bed closest to the door had a cigarette burn hole in a sheet as well as the mattress was quite stained [Red Flag #2] Water marks left from glasses on sink counter (external from toilet and shower area) Upon opening the door to toilet and shower, there was a yellow substance all over the wall, door jam and ceiling. Looked to be liquid [Red Flag #3] The Shower showed that the seams had not been cleaned for sometime, as there was mold. Also lots of dark, black hair was left in shower. The section of tub you step over to get in had a glaring presence of greasy film, also hair and the yellow substance, as well as blood drops [Red Flag #4 & #5] Pet area had a used needle and broken glass as we brought our dog and did not feel it was safe for her to walk on the ground after seeing this. [Red Flag #6] There were cockroaches everywhere by the hotel room [Red Flag #7]
After realizing that we were in a Motel room that we have already paid for but felt we needed toilet seat covers, we immediately left to go to dinner and spent that time looking for a more suitable place to stay. At a time of a Global Pandemic, no matter what the opinion is, a Motel room should at least look and feel like it has been cleaned. Not represent a Motel room that looks like it was rented for an hour before we showed up. Staying here was not an option due to the possibility of catching anything, especially COVID-19. This was by-far my worst experience at a Motel and Hotel and we travel often. First time we have just left a reservation and pay for another place (essentially paying for 2 Hotel rooms, just for peace and mind). We have had good experiences at Motel 6, Ann Arbor for instance. That was great. But this by far out shadows anything was positive. We sadly will be using Motel 6 as a comparison as we look at prices ... because there is no price that I am willing to spend that compromises me or my familyâs health and safety. End result we stayed at the Hyatt and it was a wonderful...
