Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe recent experience I had at Michael Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek was nothing short of extraordinary, and this was largely due to the commendable assistance I received from Sales Representative, Kiel Busler, in acquiring my new Cadillac XT4. This rewarding journey was initiated when I contacted them through an online car sales portal, and the Manager Jon, along with the astoundingly skilled Kiel, were prompt to respond.
From the get-go, Kiel exhibited a level of service that was not only remarkable but also truly authentic. He was punctual for our scheduled appointment and walked me through several engaging test drives, demonstrating an admirable mix of patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm. Kiel was a wellspring of detailed and insightful responses to my questions, reflecting his profound expertise in the field.
His professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction shone brightly throughout our interactions. He placed emphasis on understanding my needs and ensuring I was making an informed decision, rather than pushing for a quick sale. This customer-first attitude is a testament to Kielās skills as a sales representative and his dedication to his profession.
Even when I revisited three days later, Kiel generously took time out of his day off to meet me at the dealership. Despite the multiple rescheduling, his attitude remained unflappably pleasant, reflecting his unparalleled flexibility and understanding. Kiel is a stellar example of what a dealer sales representative should aspire to be, combining deep product knowledge with a genuine understanding of the client's requirements.
My history with dealers in the Bay Area spans 35 years, involving purchases for myself, my wife, and our three children. Iāve become quite familiar with the tactics many dealerships employ, and it's refreshing to see Kiel and the Michael Stead team deviating from these norms. They value authenticity and customer satisfaction above all else.
Further enhancing Kielās exceptional performance were Jon, the Manager, and Aric from Finance. Both offered warm welcomes and maintained an unwavering level of professionalism that matched Kielās own high standards.
In summary, if you're in the market for a car, I cannot recommend the extraordinary team at Michael Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek enough. And if you are fortunate enough to engage with Kiel, rest assured that you will be in the hands of an exceptional professional who is an absolute paragon in his field. This has been a truly refreshing and pleasurable car...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went into Cadillac Walnut Creek last week to test drive a new Vistiq. We were met by a young salesman who was extremely and extremely nice. He explained everything we wanted to know about the car and was very patient during the test drive. We enjoyed the Vistiq and wanted to run the leasing numbers.
The Vistiq is ~$80,000 car. We have looked at 3-4 cars in that price range and are aware of what a potential lease should cost per month. When the salesman returned from speaking with his sales manager, we were...surprised what was put in front of us.
Cadillac wanted a $1,350 monthly payment for 36 months with only 64% residual value on an $80,000 car once the lease ended. As in, our $1,350 monthly payment would only pay down 36% of the MSRP over those 36 months. The math equals out to: we pay a total of $47,000 over 3 years yet only get credit for paying $29,000 toward MSRP. A difference of $18,000. Of course some of that is taxes and fees. We were told $4,000 of that was taxes and fees.
So where was the $18,000-$4,000= $14,000 going? That $14,000 over 3 years was the "Rental Charge"- their fancy way of saying Interest to lease the car over 3 years. Which means we were getting hit with 30% interest on a 36 month lease. So please take that into account when working with their sales manager. Apparently he thinks we were at the Bentley Dealer across the street, not Cadillac, whose EV's have a Consumers report reliability rating of less than 10 out of 100.
$14,000/36 months, Cadillac was trying to get us to pay $388 a month solely in INTEREST, on top requesting we pay for a tire change at the end of the lease- the $1350 monthly payment wasn't enough to cover that.
So do your homework. A quick call to a Sacramento dealer got that lease payment almost cut in half. Do not pay the upcharge just based on this dealer's location and greedy sales manager. Cheers!
Edit to review to reply to Cadillac's reply: No thank you, while staff was professional and courteous, clearly we were seen as a client that could be fooled (perhaps because we were a young married couple?). Disappointing, but found significantly better deals in a single phone...
